The Skeleton Army

It has been a month since Kai came across the Necromancer but instead of moving towards to central base, she moved her skeleton army towards the forest and has kept them there this entire time.

Kai would occasionally check on their position every once in a while when he is taking a break from his scheduled research, cultivation and spending time with the twins.

He is very curious about the danger that Phil keeps talking about. He finally got him to promise that he will tell him about it after he successfully builds a teleportation device that is functional. Kai is skeptical if this danger even exists.

The slaves have all managed to introduce qi into their bodies with some even reaching level 5 qi gathering after consuming the resources Kai had given them.

The ones who are proteges among them is Xiao Ming, Ye Ling, Ji Xi and lady Ru who used tp be a sniper are already at mid levels of qi refining realm which is very impressive.

Kai keeps sending the resources over according to their achievements for motivation. He is glad he hired these people even though he would have liked to have more employees he is glad to have them.

"What are you rhinking so deeply about?" Phil asked Kai.

"I am thinking about how shady you are being for keeping things from me." Kai said with a straight face.

"You should know that I am a librarian artifact spirit. We would need several lifetimes for me to share all that I know with you." Phil said and Kai felt like he saw the image of sunglasses resting on Philip's eyes with 'Thug life' written on them.

"Damn.." Kai whistled.

"Just saying .."

"I get it." Kai decided to leave him be. In the time that he has been in this place his factories have made a lot of regular clothes from all the raw materials in the space. He wondered if he should sell them on line after sending a warehouse full at the school.

Kai is looking at the Necromancer when he got a call from Paige. "Kai, I finally got through to you. I have something important to report. There is a large group of teenagers who are even striking outside the villa area because they want to be accepted into the orphanage because they are technically still children."

Kai is surprised by this but upon thinking about it deeply. Someone is probably trying to cause trouble for Kai. "Have them sign the contract on the jade slips I will send you. They won't be able to work against us in the future and they will have to follow the rules of the orphanage."

Paige is surprised by his easy going temperament. "How come?"

"You must wonder why I am allowing it? That is because we will need an army very soon and these people are submitting themselves as free labor. All we need is to train and provide for them which is something I can afford. We also have the virtual world of brainwaves the game to train everyone."

"Is there something I should know?" Paige asked internally panicking.

"Don't worry I have it under control. Just give everyone a meditation incantation to activate their supernatural power and then let the others train them if they have time. But don't forget your main mission right now is to get strong. I will send the new and improved barrier that will cover the entire villa area. Use it as soon as possible." The barrier is to keep them safe from the skeletons incase the leaders repeat what they did last time.

"The barrier like the one covering the school?" Paige is surprised. That barrier is very powerful, to have made a new one so soon it means Kai is very talented.

"Yes. But you don't have to remove the one that is already there. Think of it as an extra layer of protection." Kai said generously.

"Thank you master." Paige smiled.

"As soon as someone working using the incantation reaches level 7 you need to tell me. This incantation is not just for the recruits but everyone who agrees to sign the agreement after reading the rules of our organization."

Kai had prepared a set of rules for all who will have access to his information regardless of whether they are young or old. He sent it to all the six bases and the Villa area management including the workers in the hospital.

Kai is arming those who jave chosen to work for him so they can be strong against enemies to come. He dropped the call and sorted out the items to send to everyone and those to sell.

Kai went back to do his research but the outside world is finally having significant movement. The skeleton army started moving towards the central base after a full month of not moving.

The Necromancer has been recuperating from her fight with Zhai all this time. And also familiarizing herself with the new branch of her power. Phil said if she was on their side he would have given her the book containing the spells on necromencer magic.

The scouts who were placed nearby immediately informed the base leader about the movement. When it became clear no one from Kai's side is coming, people were not pleased.

"It shows the boy doesn't take this base and the leaders serious enough to at least send someone to attend the meeting in his place." One man from the Wu family said in indignation.

"Kai is a youngster..." Huo Guo hasn't finished when Nina walked in accompanied by two of Ye Ling's secretaries.

"You are?" Wei Mei who is the first princes of the Wei family asked the people. Wei Mo who is a brother to Wei Mei is very taken by Nina's beauty even as he sat there and said nothing.

"I am Nina, these are Mark and Bo we will be representing the villa area." Nina is very beautiful with long wavy blond hair and bright blue eyes. But she has a powerful aura of a warrior who has fought life and death battles on a regular basis.

The powerful people felt it, she is dangerous. Yan Han is contemplating where Kai finds all these talented people. "Since we are now all here, the meeting will begin."

Near the central base there is a vast and previously protected forest that has high walls and many people used to go therefor sightseeing and hiking. This place is a bit out of the way and well fenced that even after the apocalypse commenced there were no major movements but a small part of it includes the previous Wang family mountains.

Deep in this forest there is a darker forest that has been shedding demonic energies some time before the apocalypse commenced. Now the animals closer to this area have been evolving into demonic beasts. These events are happening in different areas around the world.

Infact these cracks in space has been happening for a long time it us just some closed while others remained. Others are not easy to recognize.

Phil has come to show Kai such a place. "That is thick demonic power. Where could it be coming from?" Kai asked Phil.

"It is a crack in the space. The reason I wanted you to learn principles of space is because I want you to be able to build a space stabilizing device and the sealing device that will help us get rid of these." Phil explained.

"Continue."

"The demon realm is also a small world but they likeq to invade and eat all living things in a world leaving it devastated and in ruins. These space cracks lead to their world and will eventually allow them to cross over into this world sooner or later. In the novel, it took 7 years for these cracks to open and be stable enough to allow living things to pass through."

"This sounds like there is no hope for humans." Kai frowned.

"Some of the cracks will lead to the elven forest. They despise humans but they hate demons even more. So they will likely extend a helping hand but humans will have to submit and be enslaved by the elves."

"How long is this novel?"

"It has several arcs."

Kai face palmed. "Is that really the only way?"

"The elves are proficient in nature magic while the demons have demonic spells. The cracks all lead to one world which means they are both in the same world." Phil explained.

"Are they no humans in this world?" Kai suddenly asked.

"There are humans, these are the three main races in that world if you don't count the fae people, the dwarfs and the mermaids in the ocean. But these were defeated by the demons and have sought sanctuary with the other two races."

"In the novel, the overpowered female lead will take a group to go through the demons land so they can reach the lands occupied by humans."

Kai rolled his eyes. "Let me guess, this is the demonic lands arc?"

"Demonic Realm. The important thing is that the female lead is very powerful thanks to her system giving her pills and skills. She is able to escape the demonic lands with half of her party and the system gives her medicine that will allow the human king's daughter to practice magic."

"This is how she secured alliance for this world by becoming a vassal of the human empire. This world will then start practicing magic. If you have awakened the supernatural power you can use that power to cast magic spells. In this way, the human king sent soldiers to help defend the humans for a dacade."

"This implied that they will be able to fight and defend themselves after this time given the knowledge of how to awaken those with potential and the spells to use for magic. In exchange they wanted some of the resources such as that magic stone you were so happy about discovering."

"They took a large amount but because they were only taking it for 10 years and were not digging up the vein, the world leaders agreed."

"That sounds overly complicated. I dislike politics." Kai said looking at the teleportation device. It can be as big as a small stadium incase a large crowd needed to be teleported or an army. It can be as small as a button on the smart bracelet just to teleport one person.

It is a scan and a barrier technology. It creates a barrier and then teleport all within the barrier to the specified location. Kai has tested it and it works beautifully.

The important thing is that it is a machanical item that uses energy from a battery or other energy cores. Kai is still looking for a perfect energy core in this world. He wants one that is similar to the energy stones he found in the library warehouse.

They can power the technology as if they were made for each other. Kai will start searching for the mine as soon as he increased her power.

He is now on the verge of level 5 lightning body which will increase the duration of the time he spends when turning his body into lightning.

He can also use the spell he learned that time of turning things into ash with a single spark a couple more times.

Aaa

A week outside is three months in the magic space, Kai has almost tripled his previous level. He is at level seven bronze body strength. The body is essentially being refined like a weapon so the levels are also classified as bronze, gold, silver, white and legend.

Kai is still in bronze rank. His body can turn into lightning and travel a large distance but that is only for a few seconds to a full minute. His spark to ash spell can be used three times now. Kai can use an attack on multiple people at the same time without draining his power as much as before. The lightning aura can coat his body for a long time allowing him to run a long distance in a shot span of time.

The 38 slaves use the virtual world simulation to practice their skills. There are boxing, movement, spear, sword and saber techniques in the choices to choose from but they can also request for a specific technique.

Some want a dual blade technique while others ask for a long sword technique. Kai is able to provide them with all these because he trust them completely. The fact that he can send them items from wherever he is in the world is always a good thing for him.

The skeleton army could be seen approaching the central base. When more then half could be seen clearly, Nina and 6 thousand soldiers ran towards the enemy in great speet. People watched in awe as she glided the wind and they soon started cutting down the skeleton army turning it back to dead bones.

The six thousand rampaged through the formation of the enemy using cold weapons and when the time hit exactly ten minutes, they returned with the same speed they had left with. The other learders saw the devastation Nina and her team did to the skeletons and shuddered.

They all had the same question in their minds. 'Are they even human?' But they didn't have too long to ponder because a little over 15 thousand skeletons are still marching their way.

Even in a world full of flesh eating zombies, this many skeletons is still a spooky scene. The base army raised their guns and shot at the coming skeletons. They must shoot at the head or find the Necromancer to solve the problem. The sound of guns rang for a long time but the skeletons hardly fell because they are wearing helmets making it harder to distroy their heads.

This irritated the base commanders but there is very little they can do at this moment. Seeing the results of wasted ammunition, the state security released light grenades that can easily incinerate many skeletons.

Nina figured she will also released her own given trump card when the base army is almost at a disadvantage. Kai had processed tens of exploding magic stones. They are like high level explodives that will burn anything in a certain distance with scary precision.

Kai had instructed her not to use it unless absolutely necessary. The fire power of the base is not to be underestimated as the skeleton numbers reduced significantly. A sudden movement caught everyone by surprise in the end of the army, a massive skeleton bird like creature flew into the air and used its large tail to sweep the soldiers on the wall to the ground.

This sudden movement killed many people and as soon as they lost their balance and fell to the skeleton army, they were ripped to shreds in minutes by the skeletons.

This is only the beginning. The large bird started shooting sharp bones from all over its body. The speed is high creating devastation on the wall. The previous formation of the base army became a mess as everyone started hiding from the raining bones.

Just as they are all hiding, the skeletons finally made it up the wall but the most horrifying thing is the sudden roar that sounded amongst them. It seems to bones were infected with the virus.
