The Combined Attack

How the almighty have fallen. Ever since meeting Kai, Huo Jun's life has taken a drastic turn. He has always considered himself one of a kind. It didn't help that he was born with a superior spirit root that can cultivate three times as fast as normal people.

Waking up finding out that all his cultivation gone is very upsetting to say the least. But knowing everyone else died because of that poison scared him. If he wasn't stronger he would be dead right now. 

He wants to hate Kai for this, for injuring him at that time and for being indirectly responsible for his injury now. But if he thinks back, all he can remember is Kai asking to be left alone and wanting to keep his home safe.

He heard Kai hasn't come out for a very long time. Now Kai's people are even extending his influence outside his territory.

Huo Jun wants to go into seclusion as well so that he will not be too far behind Kai in terms of strength. Even if he doesn't think this is really Kai's fault, he will have to go head to head with him as long as their sides are divided like this. When that time comes, he will not go easy on him. Kai has shown that he is a decisive man by severely injuring and killing them the first time they stood on his way.

"You have only just healed you should take it easy." His father is happy that Huo Jun is taking his cultivation seriously but he is still worried about the state of his body.

"I will be sure to take good care of my body but if Kai finds out what we did and is able to get proof we will be finished. I need to at least stand a chance against him." Huo Jun left the room.

"What has been happening in the villa area?" Huo Guo asked his shadow guards.

"The crops have been growing well, the people working there have harvest every two months but they do not put the food and the meat from the animal shelter up for sale, they are instead storing it somewhere unknown." One man reported.

"Every two months? That is a bit exaggerated isn't it?" Huo Guo frowned.

"We suspect he has a way of accelerating crops maturity sir."

Huo Guo became flustered. This news is very shocking. A way to accelerate crops growth. If others find out, they will no doubt line up to lick Kai's feet. "Try to keep this news from getting out." He instructed.

"Yes sir."

"There is something else sir. The Wang family has united with the Lui, the Wei and the Zheng families against Kai. According to the reports on their collective moments, they will be attacking sometime this week." The same man reported.

Huo Guo rubbed his chin in surprise. "This is good news, if they manage to cripple his strength, our family can be safe for a time and if they fail, it will have nothing to do with us. Monitor the situation and report back." Huo Guo laughed happily at the news.

In the villa area.

The human soldiers that Kai released from his space were given authority on how to deal with hiring the survivors who live in the territory to allow them the opportunity to make ends meat.

He also increased the number of their robots from the initial 20 to 100 each. He did so after giving them a mental enhancement pill made from using the mental fruit as the main ingredient. It doubles the area of effect for a mental attck or mental probing for a person.

It also allows a person the ability to use their brain at an unprecedented level. The mental connection of 100 robots will feel like a breeze afyer taking the pill. Their mental control will increase which will improve their team work and strengthen the mental bond between master and subject.

The soldiers felt the effects very soon and they could send commands to their robots even at a very far distance. It improved the combat power of everyone in the team. The Ye twins were given the pill but the number of their army still remained at 2000 each.

The soldiers travel to the forest and the outside nearby cities to collect crystal nuclei and other supplies as a means of training their assigned teams.

The Ye twins understand that if they didn't get adopted by Kai at that time they would also suffer like most people in streets of the central base who sleep in cold tents or the sheds that provide little to no warmth in this constant snowfall.

A month after Kai went into seclusion, the Ye twins asked the soldiers for their support in a new project they had invested supplies and men power in.

This project was to buy a plot of land in the base and build a shelter. Many people didn't understand why the villa area people still need to build something but since they had paid for it, everyone waited to see the results.

The twins used their group's high level supernatural powers and the robot soldiers to built a large building. Two months later they had brought enough furniture to house most of the stranded people on the street.

They had prioritized women, children and old people who can not live outside any longer. When all of these people were clothed and provided furniture with blankets and basic cooking ingredients including two pots, two plates and bowls. The others were allowed in as well but they were given a separate wing.

The large building had two separate equal parts one housed families with men and the other housed vulnerable families with children and women. The security level is very checks is very strong on both sides.

The twins are each responsible for one part and they have both made a commitment to keep everyone safe. There are security guards inside and outside the building patrolling and scanning any suspicious moves and sounds.

In two days after the building was fully furnished, the previously crowded and filthy streets were suddenly empty. The new building is very large and can accommodate hundreds of people.

The main building had 18 floors, in each floor there are 9 family flats with three bedrooms. There is a bathroom, a kitchen and dining room.

The Ye twins are now cultivators who can draw runes and talismans. They used Wood from the forest to draw runes, they only made one piece of wood with an area heating rune and carved a compartment to place a crystal nuclei to charge the rune when it runs out.

Because of this wooden plate, many people didn't perish even when they didn't have warm blankets. The runes are like bees in a hive, they draw power from the mother rune which is located somewhere in the main building. If these wooden planks leave the building they lose their effect.

This was so the residents are not robbed of their property by thieves and only one plank can work in a household. This was to eliminate greed amongst the residents.

There is a cafeteria in the first and second floor where everyone who lives in the building may receive one free meal a day, all they have to do is produce an ID which was given to everyone who lives inside.

This ID can not be stolen and used by others since there is a scan in every entrance of the building to ensure the safety of the residents. There is a building management office in the first floor where the security guards can view the building surveillance cameras that are on every public area including the stairs.

The people from the streets were taken in but they were not allowed to just stay without working to earn their stay. The Ye twins used wood and carved runes to warm it and made a farming place inside the land by transplanting some soil from the villa area and every family in the building is expected to provide a certain amount of points through labour they provide to the management.

To avoid families from exploiting each other, the twins made the people who do the work head of the family according to the amount they work they perform. Their points go into their ID and can be viewed at a viewing station using their unique ID pin and a thumb print for verification. Only one person is allowed inside the viewing station at a time.

In the same plot of land there are three buildings which sells items to the residents. These products can be bought using the points earned in the area. There are clothes, general items and food. Special orders are placed with the staff members usind a deposit of crystal nucleus or work points.

The amazing thing about this place is that there are actual cleaning robots for each floor so it is very neat in all the public areas even though the people staying here are previously dirty street people.

Slowly all of them used their points to wash their clothes to buy soap and new clothes so they can be tidy and not get sick easily.

They are provided a fixed amount of water and electricity, they can pay for more if they need it. Life is not bad here. In fact, they live better than many who live in the rented flats outside.

The Wang family has finally completed all the preparations and secured enough allies to bring down Kai once and for all. The base has seven powerful familes and three of them have agreed to work with the Wang family in their endeavor to destroy Kai Waters and take over his resources.

The time for a decisive attack has finally come and at mid night, several alarms rang all around the villa area indicating an enemy attack. Three families brought several heavily armed men who started firing at the targetted villas where Kai lives and the 20 or so villa's where the human soldiers live.

The attack was sudden, it involved heavy machine guns, granades and open fire that completely demolished the area. Even the hospital was not spared. Caught off guard, the soldiers had suffered heavy injuries but they released their robots soldiers swiftly buying themselves enough time to prepare themselves.

Kai had allowed them to train 10 soldiers each and was planning on gradually increasing the numbers so they are not overwhelmed.

When the scene quieted down and everyone wanted to know if the people were destroyed, lights suddenly turned off all around the territory wall and the streets lights in the entire area. This turned the place dark. The robots can see clearly but the enemy came prepared with night vision goggles.

When the dust settled 5000 soldiers stood in a disciplined formation with loaded weapons pointing at the intruders. As if they were given an order all of them fired killing all the enemies on sight while many managed to hide on time, some died with bullet holes on their bodies dyeing the ground red with blood.

The villa area turned into a battlefield with each side showing off their weapons proficiency and eliminating their opponents. Many families who still lived in the territory were well protected but they still suffered varying degrees of injuries.

The fight is fierce with neither side willing to give up. When the first morning snow fell, many human and robot bodies littered the ground but they were still fighting. It only ended when a few sacrificed their bodies to flush out the hiding enemy and they there finished off just like that.

Property damage suffered seems substantial at a glance. The surprising thing is the sturdiness of the glass houses because even though they are scratched here and there, they remained standing.

A few people were captured, one of the human soldiers almost died if it wasn't for the rapid healing medicine Kai had given them when he reported his decision to seclude himself indefinitely the soldier would have died today, as a result the captives were subjected to torture which lasted for a few hours before they died.

The soldiers found out it was the Wang family that orchestrated the whole plan, they marched to the Wang residence to expel them from the territory.

The one leading the group is Ye Ling. She knew these people where her master's family at some point but now they have crossed a line. She was left in charge by Kai with full authority to make decisions as she see fit.

The tens of people quickly entered the estate and looked around without saying anything. Thick tension hang in the air as the individuals who pushed their way into the Wang house entered and pulled out the first person they came across towards the main gate.

This took some time because the Wang family's hired people were mostly injured while some locked themselves inside the Wang flats that Wang Chen had built at Wang Ning's request.

These people were also dragged out some died during this period but in a few minutes all the flats were empty of humans. These people had families who took care of them as they are put in the truck to be transported away from here. While others had lived alone.

"What are you people doing? Where the hell is your master huh? Bring Kai here to explain himself this instant!" Wang Yan shouted but no one paid any attention to him.

The problem is the menacing masks these people are wearing with their black combat uniforms that makes people suffocate with dread when they look directly at them.

"No, wait! Where are you taking me? Answer me! Wang Chen! Come and help me stop them they are hurting me!" Mrs. Wang shouted and screamed trying to make the soldiers have some guilt so they will stop but she doesn't know that she is dealing with a pair of robots.

The security at the gate was quickly subdued and they were all put into a truck. They are not even struggling or resisting anymore because they know they are on very thin ice when the people didn't even take off their masks to address them of what is happening but simply dragged all of them into a truck parked outside the gate.

The Wang family had gloomy expressions as the dead men under their command are put in a small hill a distance away. Some died because they were resisting to go out. Wang Ning is terrified of these people even as she is boiling with rage inside, she wants to get as far away from these people as possible after seeing them not even flinch as many people kept dying because of their actions.

After putting all of them into the truck they are driven to the civilian base and dropped outside the gate like packs of potatoes before the truck left them behind.

"Didn't you say he wouldn't survive an attack of that magnitude? How the hell did this happen? We practically leveled the entire villa area with small bombs and grenades but there is still so many of them alive!" Wang Yan felt like he aged 10 years in this one morning alone.

Although they still have a lot of resources inside Wang Ning's storage space, they will become target if they don't have man power to protect it. They pretend to pillage and pay a small rent for themselves and the remaining servants to make plans for the future.

Seeing the way things ended for them it is still unknown if the three families will come to hold them accountable for all the lost men power they have suffered in the attack.

Meanwhile the villa area is cleaning up the aftermath of the battle and providing healing medicine for the injured people. Everyone is doing their part in cleaning up but the main villa where Kai live has not opened.
