Kiss of Death

Kai is still upset about the encounter with Mrs. Wang so he didn't leave his safe space after retrieving his children. Then he spen a long time just laying in a depressed state trying not to channel his frustration into overflowing rage.

"Sir, how long are you going to keep living like this?" Phil who couldn't take the depressing life it's boss is living, suddenly asked this question at the risk of being unplugged.

Kai has been depressed ever since he came in the space. It is as if he lost his drive to do anything because he just sleeps until he is awakened by Phil for his cultivation schedule. Not getting a reply, the machine sighs and ten says another thing.

"There is a disturbance outside." Phil tries to persuade Kai who just remained stoic.

One day after a particularly long cultivation session, Kai suddenly said something.

"I have had a liquid chip in my body but I didn't consider using it to improve the current formula for the medicine that I have. Perhaps I should consider using the available plants in the storage to substitute those rare and unavailable plants to make something amazing?" Kai tilted his head and looked at the lush green fields of medicinal herbs in contemplation.

Phil didn't say anything in case his hopes get crushed. He would accept anything at this point just to cater for the emotional wellbeing of his companion. If improving plants will help him so be it.

Kai sat in the study with the medicinal book and looked through it. Making mental notes of the materials for the formulas and optimizing them in a new book that he is compiling with Phil taking into consideration the available herbs.

Kai closed the book and rubbed his eyebrows feeling silly to get an actual headache even with his physical stat. They were only able to read through less than 1/3 of the book and of all the improved formulas only three made an improvement in the efficacy while using less valuable plants.

Others used less rare herbs but also reduced the overall efficacy of the pill. The bone marrow cleansing, the bloodline purifying pill and a healing pill. This one uses a different plant that is abundant in the space and the efficacy is relatively the same as before able to regrow missing flesh.

Kai doesn't know how much time he spent in the space making these three pills to pass time while he quelled his anger at what happened before with the Mistress of the Wang family. The practice of repeating the pill making process using his fire spell allowed him to make a high grade pills and some superior grade pills which will be able to help him even when he is in the late nascent soul realm.

This is very beneficial for his cultivation growth to such an extent that his mood finally calmed down to the point where he was able to go into seclusion to cultivate for as long as he can.

The outside of the space, Kai's villa has been visited by several people from the seven families in the base but were all unable to meet with him. The Huo family wanted to know if Kai can help them cure the four promising youngsters who were poisoned by Amon at that time.

They remained in a state of agony for a few days until they each succumbed to death one by one until the only one remaining is the level 7 ice powered Huo Jun. It turned out that when Kai stabbed him before, he lost his cultivation base due to him refusing treatment before his father's treatment.

He had used the spiritual energy in his body to stabilize his wounds so he will remain standing to oversee his father's treatment to the end. Huo Jun knew that many people may use the opportunity to harm his father during the operation to take away his position.

To prevent something like that from happening he sacrificed his hard earned cultivation base now he is suffering greatly from that action because the poison would have worked much slower if he was still at the first stage of foundation establishment realm.

The rest of the families are trying to get glass houses built but are unable to receive any because of Kai's disappearance. There is a significant decline in the amount of food in the base even with the many glass houses Kai built for the leader of the base.

This has caused a major shift in the power structure of the central base. Many smaller factions have decided to devolve and enter the base's main force to receive the benefits of a common solder guaranteed by the base leader.

As a result the standing of the other six families has dwindled while the main force steadily increased. Kai had built a few tens of glass houses for the base leader before he disappeared while the others were not resolute about making payment.

The crops in the glass houses are doing well giving hope to the people which further stabilized the position of the current management. The former national security army are struggling with none of the families willing to help them in anyway after the way they behaved in the battle against the zombies at that time.

They had also tried to contact Kai but the soldiers at the territory told of him going into seclusion for unknown amount of time. They then went to spillage for food in the abandoned stores outside which quickly reduced their numbers as they died in the cold.

Over the past few month as many more survivors have braved the snow and came to find shelter in the base, it increased the number of people to feed and the families were not willing to spare too much of their reserves seeing as the weather doesn't seem to be getting better any time soon.

In the base leader headquarters.

"What do we know about Kai's whereabouts at this point?" Yan asked his men who are helping him run the base covertly.

"Sir we heard he quarreled with Mrs. Wang a few days before he went into seclusion and since then, the Wang family has suddenly become active again. There seems to be some sort of communication between them and the national security." The man reported surprising the leader.

"They have been seen trying to temper with the glass houses in Kai's territory but where promptly stopped by the ever vigilant guards working under Kai Waters." Another man made a report. 

The base leader made a curious face as he took a sip of his glass of water. He has a pair of sharp eyes, a muscular body that is tall and sturdy. He is very attractive especially when he smiles. But his charms comes out fully when he uses his inherent ability. 

He can release a type of pheromones that makes him instantly attractive to anyone he aims his powers to. No one has ever been able to slip out of his control once he launches it, but Kai was able to snap out of it a moment later. Maybe it's time he calls his sister home. 

That boy is powerful if he can secure an alliance with him in this place, his rule will be several times more stable than it is now. The Yan family like the Huo family has immortal cultivation history with several cultivation techniques which is why they have much more numbers of cultivators than most families. 

However, they are not able to do much other than using the available manuals to cultivate because their family is not like a sect with resources and medicinal elixirs that can assist cultivators in the path of immortality. As the result all they can achieve can only be a little more than what modern martial artists can achieve through hard work.

Yan is certain that this boy has a way of acquiring more cultivation resources for him to be at such a high realm while he is only a teenager. If they had a chance to befriend him they can also have a share. This is why his sister is perfect for the job. She has been outside looking for resources to advance in her cultivation. Her cultivation method is a deadly seduction that can enthrall men to do her bidding.

It relies on her charm and charisma, the more a person is in love with her the more they will produce an aura called affection aura which she feeds on for cultivation. The more deeply a person loves her, the stronger she can become.

The Hou family is at a desperate state now trying to preserve Huo Jun's life. It went to the point of total despair from his father and grandfather who put more pressure in their subordinates to contact those they have good relationship with and request assistance in curing the poison.

Finally after several months the family was able to invite and eccentric alchemist who specializes in poisonous plants and their antidotes. The man recognized the poison at first glance and took several weeks curing it and removing it from his body.

When the Huo family confirmed that the poison is cured they were willing to pay any price the man was going to demand but the man wanted them to provide him with their family treasure called igneous. It is a flute that can allow beast tamers to temporarily tame stubborn beasts in a moment's notice.

Although the family head thought it was too much he still gave the man what he asked for. What they don't know is that the flute is only damaged which is why it can only control beasts and for just a short duration but it has great potential.

A distance away from the central base is a high end mall where the aristocrats go to buy all the exclusive products before the change. It is a small city with shopping center and restaurants plus a well known gym.

There is even a nearby hotel, the woman calling herself lady green had once worked in one of the restaurants in this place and was humiliated badly by almost everyone when she was on duty because of her ugly face.

Seeing this place she had contemplated that those inside must be the people who could previously afford to shop there. Having a deep seethed hatred for these bosses, young masters and Misses of the city, she began to picture all the horror she wanted to unleash on them now that she has the power.

Her power felt her dark thoughts and before she can realize what is happening, many zombies started shedding skin until all the rotten flesh is on the ground turning to ash as they are each engulfed in necromancy aura that has been coming out of lady green.

It covered their previous jade like bones turning them completely black in color and then lighting a small green flame in each of their eye sockets. A few minutes later she is surrounded by a legion of black skeletons with green flames as their eyes.

Each of their bones are at least three times stronger than before and they can now run and fight at her own level. Unlike the zombies these skeletons will not hunger for food and will only follow her orders. She can feel them through her power, each and everyone of them desire only to fulfill her orders.

The skeletal figures ran toward the place where there are survivors and started breaking in through the glass windows and even pushing the doors open. When they entered, the first thing they did was to punch kick and rip the people inside the store apart.

It would have taken longer for then to kill the humans but they are very strong. The bonda will sometimes punch a person's head and it would just burst and the person would die instantly.

The more they kill the surrounding death aura wraps around their skeletons and strengthen them. This intern strengthens lady green making her feel very comfortable as if she was made to live in the Valley of the dead.

Initially there were 6000 people in numbers but a single emotional episode from her more than two thousand people quickly lost their lives. When she woke up from her enraged state she heard ghastly screams coming from the supermarket.

She turned pale when she realized what had happened and ran off to a nearby store to collect her thoughts. The skeleton soldiers stopped attacķing the humans and surrounded the store where she had taken refuge in and stood guard.
