New Era

Inside a bustling museum, a group of high school students could be seen flocking around an Enourmus cylinder glass stand containing a big beetle the size of an adult male. A guide teacher approaches the students, trying to calm them down so as not to accidentally push or hurt someone. The guide teacher shouted to the student:

"Everyone, please fall in line with your selected teammate!!! "

As everyone was scrambling to look for their teammate, a young teen with a firm gaze and a melancholic outlook could be seen standing in front of the glass, muttering something to himself, when suddenly a snow-like hand patted his shoulder. After turning back to face the person who patted him, what greeted him was a fair-skinned woman with a smirking smile on her face.

"Hey Zen, would you like to be my teammate?"

Zen was lost in his thoughts for a second, then a provocative smile escaped from his lips.

"If that's what you want, I'm fine with it."

A sudden screech from a megaphone made the area silent as everyone looked at the sound of the screeching noise. The guide teacher, now holding a megaphone, is now ordering the students to look around the museum with their selected teammate and find works they would like to see. Everyone dispersed in every direction, and while Zen remained standing in his position, her teammate beside him asked why he stayed. Zen responded that he wanted to see the first metahuman who started the new era—the tragic start of a glorious era.

100 years ago, the whole world was shaken by the corpse of a huge beetle that was later identified as Gregor, who lived as a hardworking man who supported his family. Everyone was in disbelief and fear of how a man could transform into a beetle. Led by their ignorance and fear, they hunted and killed the surviving relatives of Gregor, thinking that the family was a lineage of the devil. The unrest doesn't end there, as months later, many humans find themselves transformed into animals, objects, or creatures that only exist in fantasy; the transformed human sprang like a mushroom after a bloody rain. Everyone was in fear again while the transformed humans escaped in various places in fear of being killed by their very own relatives. That period of time was the greatest shame in human history. It lasted for 3 years until a group of brave and intelligent individuals gathered together to study the bodies of the transformed humans with the goal of knowing the origin and reasoning behind the transformation. It was later concluded that the change came from thoughts and a new energy that suddenly appeared around the world that was later called "mana." Everyone's dark ignorance was finally illuminated by this discovery, and all transformed humans came back to society. Plenty of changes and adjustments were made to stabilize the chaos, and the transformed humans were now called "metahumans," and the era was named "Metamorph," while the rest is history.

Zen looks at Caira's beautiful face and smiles.

"maybe that bloody and tragic start was needed to start the new era, but the blind ignorance and fear that humans showed at that time was the true tragedy."

The two finally walk away from the glass stand and walk towards the exit to catch some air. After going outside the museum, Zen suddenly transformed into a golden dragon, flying straight towards the sky. After seeing Zen fly away, Caira also transformed into an ice phoenix and chased after Zen. The two circled the sky while the passersby on the ground looked at them without any emotional flunctations, as the scene is already a typical scenario for everyone. Zen uses his fire breath, while Caira uses his ice breath to form a dazzling rain of snowflakes. The passersby on the ground look up and smile.

This is the Metamorph era, when humans and Metahumans are living in harmony with the goal of a better tomorrow.
