Chapter 4

Of all the days, Saturday is my favorite because it's the only day of the week that I can sleep in. My shift at the restaurant doesn't start until 1 p.m. So usually nothing can get me out of bed before 11:00. But today for some reason, Flo was shouting my name from the living room. At first I thought I was dreaming but he shouted my name even louder. I heard footsteps approaching my bedroom door and then the it opened.

"Meg!"

"What?" I said.

"Wake up wake up!" Flo was excited, he sat on my bed and pulled my bed cover.

"What is it?" I was still sleepy.

"Greg Davis. Does that speak to you?."

"Yes, he's the new owner of the night club?! Why?"

"He was here just a second ago."

"What? What did he want?" I suddenly became lucid and my sleep evaporated.

"To give you a ride to the restaurant. I told him that on Saturdays you don't start until 1 p.m. he told me he'll come back at 12:30 p.m."

"I'm telling you the truth that guy is crazy."

"I feel like I missed something, how come that Greg Davis came all the way here to take you to work."

I told him everything that had happened the day before.

"How do you know him anyway?" I asked him at the end.

"Are you crazy? Who doesn't know Greg Davis? Apart from you of course who lives in your own world. But whatever, girl, I think he likes you!"

"Are you crazy?! He's engaged."

I told him that his mother had announced last night that her son was getting married.

"So explain to me why he would have done all this, OK I'm willing to accept that he saw you on the road and took pity on you, but how do you explain the dinner, or the fact that he's here at 6 a.m. to take you to work?"

"That's why I told you that guy is weird."

"I'm sure there's eel under rock. I have to go to class but I'm sure there will be more about this story."

He walked out of my room and I lay down again. I had trouble falling asleep again. I weighted for a moment thinking of Greg Davis.

I wondered why he was acting like that with me, did he know when he saw me on the side of the road that I was one of his employees? Yesterday evening began to scroll through my head as I fell asleep, I saw his look when he found me in the locker room, his gaze fixed on me while I was eating, or while he was sitting at the bar.

I woke up to the sound of my alarm, I felt as tired as yesterday, but the thing is that I got used to being tired.

I got up and made myself a good cup of coffee. I find on the microwave was a note from Flo that said, "I don't want to find this when I get home." I opened it and there were carbonara pasta. I smiled, frankly,I don't know what I would do without him.

I decided I'll eat them before leaving for work. I sipped my coffee, my phone in hand, I began to do some research. I Googled Greg Davis, and waited. There were plenty of articles about him. The most recent was released this morning, it was titled "Davis the heartbreaker soon to be engaged" I clicked on it. There were photos of him and his girlfriend separately, the only photos where they were together was taken yesterday with Mrs. Davis. I also navigated in other articles.

There was so many of information about him, there were those talking about him winning the Most Innovative Entrepreneur award, him being on the cover of Forbes Magazine as the man of the moment a few months ago. I also learned that he was the owner of the most prestigious nightclub in the world. I couldn't believe my eyes.

I was pulled from my reading by a call from my father. He called me every Saturday because during the week we didn't have time to talk to each other. He thought I had a good job that paid well, that's why he let me pay for his medicine, if he knew I had to do two jobs, he wouldn't let me do it. But he has taken good care of me since I was little and I felt like it was now my turn to take care of him, and his job as a mechanic was not enough to cover for his rent and all the health care he needed.

We chatted as I ate the pasta, and we continued until it was time for me to go to work.

Before leaving the house I called Sean Connery, Mr. Davis' driver, he hadn't brought my car back to me and I wanted to know why. But he didn't pick up I tried two more times with the same result,so I decided I would try again later.

The restaurant was just a few blocks from my house so I decided to leave the house at 12 o'clock so that I would avoid Mr Davis. Something deep inside me was telling me not to get too close to him because I could get hurt.

Saturday afternoons at the restaurant were always crowded, and it didn't help that it was mid-July. I was busy all afternoon and I didn't have time to think about him again. It was while I was on my way to take the bus to the night club that I thought about him.

I just hoped he wasn't going to hang around much, according to the articles I had read he was a busy businessman because in addition to the nightclubs he had taken over his father's energy company, who had died last year.

I was furstrated at myself because I was thinking about him so much. So to avoid it i put on some music as soon as I entered the bus.
