Chapter 37: Greg's POV

"Oh no, you gotta be bullshitting me ." I laughed at Max's surprised look on my iPad. I had decided to face time him because he had tried to reach me several times, but I hadn't found the time to call him back. I was in my office at Skylight, and I had just told him what I had been doing for the past five days.

"You're trying to make me believe that you just spent four days in the middle of nowhere. But broz you hate the countryside." he refused to believe it, and that amused me even more.

"Well I guess it's no longer the case."

"You know that I'm starting to worry about you a, you may be under a spell."

"Don't joke with that."

"Sorry, but just admit that it's crazy, you've never chased after a girl like that."

"That's what I'm trying to tell you, she's different."

"So please tell me it was worth it." I nodded with an air of delight.

"How was it ?"

"Hell no, I don't intend to go into details."

"What a killjoy you are.." I laughed and changed the subject.

"So tell what's going on there." Max was kind of my spy within the company when I wasn't around. As the Human resources manager, he was aware of most of the things that happened there.

" Nothing special, your absence has been noticed, there are many theories of where you could be. On the other hand, I have been cooked all week by your mother. She thought that I knew where you were."

"I'll talk to my mother when I get back."

"There is also Macy who bombarded me with questions. She who usually never speaks to me, must believe that she is ready to do anything to get you back."

"What did you two talk about?"

"About you, what else. She wanted to know if there was anyone else, I obviously told her that I didn't think so, which wasn't a good idea because I think I gave her false hope. ."

"Honestly, Macy's little whims are now the least of my worries."

"They should interest you though, because the girl now has an office and she comes to work every day."

"Who allowed that?"

"Well, I was given no choice. His father made it very clear to me that his shares in the company are greater than my father's." I was frustrated by what he was telling me.

"That's all him. He grants his daughter's slightest wish. What exactly does she do in the company?" Macy was the company's muse, which meant that she was not obliged neither to have an office nor to be there every day

"Apart from lugging around all day and roughing up the workers? Nothing at all."

"And you let that pass?"

"Don't talk you don't know her. You have to come, you're the only person who can put her in her place."

"I'll take care of it on Monday." I said concluding our call

"Well, I'm glad that you can still remember me even when you're under a spell."

"Shut up." I laughed at his joke and he laughed too.

"Thanks for calling, see you on Monday at the office." We said goodbye and I hung up. That's when I realized I had a message. It was from Gina and it said:

<She said yes for the association.> with two dancing emojis.

"Yes." I said jubilantly after reading it. I put my phone down and immersed myself for a moment in the monthly reports of Fred Curtiss, the Skylight manager. I don't know why, but I didn't trust the guy fully, He had suspicious manners that I didn't like at all. But Gina, who had spent a few days in inspections, told me that apart from being arrogant he was clean. I was hoping so, but I intended to search deeper about him.

When I looked at the time after I finished, it was almost 3:00 p.m. I picked up my phone and browsed through my phone book, until the name Meghan. Then I clicked call. It rang four times and I heard her beautiful voice say:

"Hi."

"Hey beautiful, how are you?"

"Good and you?"

"I'm very well now that I heard your voice." it's like I could see her rolling her eyes, I knew now that romanticism made her uncomfortable.

"Well, it sounds like you're in a romantic mood." I too was surprised. I'm usually the least romantic person there is, but now I don't know, it just came to me naturally.

"I've been in the mood the whole week. Tell me, what are you doing?"

"Right now? Nothing special, I'm doing some research on the internet. Why?"

"I was wondering if by any chance it would be possible to kidnap you for two or three hours."

"To go where ?"

"I can't tell you, otherwise it wouldn't be a kidnapping."

"Can't you even give me a hint?"

"No. Say yes, and you'll see once we get there."

"Okay. My dad and Gina seem to be getting along very well without me, so..."

"I'll be at your house in half an hour." Then I hung up.

My goal was to spend as much time as possible with her before heading back to New York.
