Chapter 32.

Greg and I went for a walk outside once we were done doing the dishes. It was strange to see him do this kind of thing, I almost forgot that was rich and famous. It was as if he was not the man we saw on the tabloids. It was almost magical these moments with him, and I told myself that it was the last day that we were going to be like this, just him and me.

"Once we're gone from here, we can say goodbye about this kind of peace." I said to him, holding his hand.

"Yes, it's very sad. You know, I didn't know I could be able to enjoy such quietness. I always hated going to my parents' vacation home because it was way too quiet."

"You were too capricious." I laughed at him.

I took him to the silver creek preserve, it was a 10 minute walk from the house. I had a secret lair there were I used to go whenever I had a fight with my dad, or wanted to be on my own. It was at the top of a small hill and we had a view of the entire silver creek resort.

"Wow, what a view!" he exclaimed as soon as we arrived and I smiled in satisfaction.

"Wait till you see the sunset." I sat down at the foot of a tree and he joins me. We stayed there until 6:30 p.m. The atmosphere was romantic, we talked and kissed and talked and kissed again. We watched the sunset, I had forgotten how breathtaking it was.

On the way home, he talked about his grandfather, he told me that it was thanks to his inheritance that he had opened his first nightclub. He admitted to me that he missed him so much, and that sometimes he wished he was there to advice him in some situations. It was nice to see that vulnerable side of him that not everyone knew about.

When we got to the door, he pulled me towards him before I opened the door.

"I had a great afternoon, thank you very much." he said looking me in the eyes. I placed several kisses on his lips.

"I had a good time too." I said to him between two kisses, untied me from him and I opened the door then we entered. My father was found in the living room reading a book.

"Ah, there you are!"

"What are you doing up, tomorrow we have a long trip you should rest."

"Meggie I just spent four days in a hospital bed there's no one more rested than I am." I sat down beside him. "By the way your phone rang and I answered, it was the brat. He said he wanted to talk to you and that it was urgent." I laughed at how Dad called Flo. Both always pretended not to like each other but for real, theyhe adored each other.

"I'll call him right away." I got up from the couch and picked up my phone. I dialed his number and he picked up immediately.

"Hello you?"

"Hi, dad told me you wanted to talk to me right away, what's up?"

"Okey, I made a big mistake. And don't get mad at me please."

"Flo, what did you do?"

"I moved your stuff."

"What? What do you mean, you moved my stuff?"

"Well, I mean, I moved both of our things. When I found out Old Bay was coming, I thought it would be great if we could find another apartment, because ours was way too small for the three of us. So the other day I heard that the parents of one of my colleagues were moving out and were renting out their apartment, but unfortunately the price was very high but I went to visit it anyway, it is great I swear, four bedrooms, a nice kitchen plus it's near the Skylight and it's a ten minute drive from the office." I listened to what he was telling me carefully, but all I heard was that the rent was more expensive.

"But you know very well that I can't afford more expensive rent, Flo. And besides, I could have slept on the sofa."

"I know, but listen to me, you won't have to pay more because I found a solution. Gina has agreed to move in with us, if we divide the rent in three, it's almost the same amount. The apartment has four bedrooms, so we'll all have rooms for everyone." I took a deep breath. I felt like Gina and Flo and Greg were all doing sacrifices to help me and I felt a little uncomfortable about that.

"I don't know Flo. I don't want you all making sacrifices because of me."

"But what sacrifices are you talking about? Gina hated living alone, I'm closer to the office and on top of that I have hot roommates so I'm not complaining. " I laughed.

"I'm sure when you say hot roommates you're not talking about me." I teased him. Maybe I was wrong but I felt that between Flo and Gina there was something weird.

"What are you trying to insinuate."

"Me? Nothing at all."

"Stop it Meg, stop it right now. How's it going with you and the handsome guy." he wanted to change the subject, and when Flo doesn't want to talk about something it's because it's hiding something. But I let him do it, I told myself that I was going to have this discussion with him later.

"Very well." I answered with a smile.

"Ooh my, I feel you smiling."

"I'll tell you everything later."

"Okey. See you."

"Thank Gina for me, please."

"I'll tell her." then we hung up.

I returned to the living room, and there I found my father and Greg laughing out loud.

"Well what makes you laugh so much?"

"Your dad was telling me about the time you decided you and Flo should dress up as Beauty and the Beast on Halloween, and Flo should be Beauty."

"Dad! Would you mind keeping a few secrets from me."

"Who told you I was a grave?."

"In my defense, I was seven years old. The beauty's disguise didn't suit me at all and Flo had looked for it very well because he had lost my bracelet during the fitting."

"Sweetheart he hadn't lost it, you found it when we got back home"

"But he'll never know that. And you better keep it a secret."I told Greg, laughing.

We all made dinner together, we let dad help us because he said he didn't want to feel useless. We all dined together, it was nice to see the good mood we had. We almost forgot that this morning my father was in the hospital.

Greg left at 10 p.m. to go to the hotel, and me and my father went to bed right after.
