Chapter 30: Greg's POV

I woke up to the sound of birds singing, I noticed that we didn't have that in New York.

I felt that Meghan wasn't next to me, the bed was so small that I didn't have to turn to know that she was gone. I sat up, stretched and tried to wake up fully. That's when I heard voices in the living room, I got up to take my watch which was next to the bedside lamp. It was 7:10 a.m. Who could be there so soon? I put on my pants and a T-shirt. In the end, I didn't set foot in the hotel and Sean had brought my clothes here. It made me think I was going to have to go there today because Bayron was coming home.

I left the room and heard the voices getting closer and closer.

"Does he still sleep here?" My blood boiled when I recognized the voice of Drew, Meghan's ex.

"Yes."

"In your father's room I imagine?" but what is he meddling into? I didn't go any further, I stayed at the bottom of the stairs where they couldn't see me and I couldn't see them either.

"Why are you asking?" Meghan asked him.

"Because the day before yesterday you told me that there was nothing between you two, and I see that he certainly didn't sleep on the couch." there was a short pause.

"Look, I don't want to talk about this with you. So if that's what brings you here..."

"No no, forgive my indiscretion, your father told me he's discharged today and that he is coming with you in Miami. Is that true?"

"Yes it is."

"I'm so disgusted I wish you and I we had some time to talk. Do you think you can find it." I found myself praying inside that she says no.

"I don't think so, I'm so much overwhelmed packing stuff up. We're going to rent the house out."

"Really? I really wanted to spend some time with you!" he paused and continued. "By the way my mom told me she saw you and Greg Davis I hope she didn't bother you."

"No, don't worry, I'm used to her you know she's still the same after all these years." I heard them laughing and my blood boiled even harder. I had never felt such jealousy before.

"You know it hit me hard to see you again."

"Drew..."

"No please listen to me, it was easier not to think about you when you weren't here. But when you came back,I swear I can't remember why we broke up. You and I were so good. I don't understand what really happened." the only thing he wasn't going to understand if he continues like this was going to be my punch in the face.

"It's been four years." Her voice was helpless.

"Yes and I still have the same feelings for you as I did four years ago. And in four years we've never had the opportunity to have this discussion. Is it because of my excessive jealousy against Flo, or because I was really busy with college."

"The fact that you prevented me from seeing Flo has nothing to do with our break up. You knew very well that I wouldn't have done it anyway. And the college has nothing to do with it either. You and I didn't have the same ambitions or the same vision of things and four years ago you agreed with me, I don't see why we're bringing this up again."

"Because I thought you were going to change your mind. I thought that after college you were going to come back to live here and that we'll continue our relationship then "

"It was not the case. And you know very well that there's nothing remaining between us. You are a good person Drew, you deserve to find someone who loves you."

"But you don't understand anything, I don't want to find someone, I want you." I went to come out of my hiding place to put him back in his place but I heard: "I'm with Greg, Drew." I stopped short. My heart skipped a beat and I smiled like an idiot. I was just hoping the jerk would come out after that. But he continued, I heard him get up.

"Aah right?! and me like an idiot I believed you when you told me that there was nothing but, I imagine that you have changed a lot in four years. The Meg that I knew wouldn't have gotten in a relationship just for money. Don't you realize that once he will get tired of you he'll dump you? That's what capricious rich kids like him do." Anger crept inside of me and I came out, at the same time I heard Meg.

"Wow, you're going too far Drew. Is that really what you think of me? That proves that on the contrary you haven't changed at all. You still have disgusting outbursts of anger, and like four years ago, I still can't stand them. Get out of my house." she was about to pass him but he grabbed her hand.

"Sorry Meg." he whispered.

"Let go of her" I was on the verge of exploding in anger. They turned to me. "I told you to let go of her and get out of here." I screamed even louder. He let go of her and she moved towards the door to open it.

"Look Meg, I swear I didn't mean what I just told you." he said that as he walked towards her.

"Get out of here." she answered but he did not comply. So I walked towards him, I wanted to punch him but Meghan stood in front of me and stopped me.

"Stop it Greg, it's not worth creating a scandal. Out Drew!"

The moron ran his hand through his hair and then left. Meghan went to close the door.

"Sorry about all that." she said to me as she approached me. I took her by the waist and pulled her towards me, she put her arms around my neck.

"I swear if I see that guy again I'll be able to kill him." I felt

"It's okay, he's gone. Did you hear the discussion?"

"Yeah. He didn't have the right to tell you what he told you. I told you he still had feelings for you."

"In any case, I'm not going to see him any soon" she kissed me and pulled away from me.

"Coffee?" she proposed to me. I agreed and sat down at the dining table. We drank the coffee and the croissants we had bought on the way home from the hospital.

"I'll have to sleep at the hotel tonight. I have gotten used to sleeping with you."

"Oh but you know, you're going to have to sleep on your own every time when you'll in New York " she finished her cup of coffee and got up she went to the stairs but stopped on the way and retraced her steps. "Because you're going to sleep alone aren't you?" I smiled at his question.

"Of course what is that question?"

"I don't know, with all the girls out there who would dream of being in your bed, let alone your ex." I rolled my eyes then leaned down to grab her arm, I pulled her towards me and she landed on my lap.

"You're going to have to trust me." she looked me in the eyes.

"Do I have a choice?" she said humorously. I shook my head no. She gave me a kiss and wanted to get up but I held her back. I kissed her but she pushed me away.

"Stop, stop that! Because if you continue like this, you'll end up distracting me and I have a lot more things to do before I bring my father back." I pretended to sulk and let her go.
