AN INEVITABLE FATE

Rachel lost all the colors of her life even before turning 20. She never thought she could fall in love again. On that day, she lost her hopes and the desire to live. The only thing that kept her alive was her memories with him. It was the day when Aaron first saw her. He had never believed in love at first sight. He saw her crying miserably. He stood there the whole day watching her. Later he learned, that it was the day when she lost the love of her life, her husband. He couldn't believe himself that he actually fell in love with a girl at the funeral - her husband's funeral. "Don't leave." Aaron had run behind her, getting drenched in the rain. He was scared, scared that she would leave him. She pushed him hard and shouted, "I don't like you!" Aaron stood there, rooted to the ground. Staring with a blank expression he asked, "Why?" She tightened her lips, scared of showing her weaker side. He continued, "Because of your husband's death?" Rachel felt her world collapsing. She hadn't expected him to know about Eric's death. Seeing her expression he continued, "Rach, you can't live with memories forever. You have to move forward with someone. But I want that someone to be me." Rachel took a deep breath. "I'm not going to get married again." Seeing her being adamant, he said, "Yes, someday, you will." "No, I won't." He asked, "What if you change your mind in the future?" "That will never happen. If that day comes, then I will come to you." Rachel just wanted to get over with this as soon as possible. She didn't think much about her words as that day would never be going to come. Arron narrowed his eyes and asked, "Promise?" She nodded. With an evil grin, he went near her. Holding her face, "Let's seal this promise." Saying this, he kissed her hard. His first love. Can he bring back the happiness that she couldn't even find in her dreams? Him and her? Is it possible? Is it an inevitable fate? Chapter 58 : There's no future for us. (21)

The first photo was taken during the engagement. In that, Aaron was hugging Rachel, tightly. His lips were very close to her ears.

The next photo was also taken during the engagement but now the location was garden. Aaron was leaning towards Rachel who was sitting on the bench. From the angle that it was taken, it looked like they were kissing.

The crowd gasped!

In the next photo, Aaron was carrying the drunk Rachel towards his car.

But the next photo shook everyone. It was taken in the banquet, just a few minutes back. In that photo, Aaron was hugging Rachel, patting her back while Rachel stood weakly in his embrace, almost melting into his body. In one photo, Aaron was removing his blazer, Rachel's hair was tied whereas in the next photo it was let loose. This caused a commotion in the crowd.

"Oh my god, what's happening here?"

"Isn't she the daughter-in-law of Mr.Colin? How could she embarrass her family in front of everyone?"

"I heard that she was recently engaged!"

"Oh my, is she cheating on her fiance?"

"Who knows, rich people can do whatever they want!"

"Talk about that! Sigh! We can't judge the book by its cover alone. She looks innocent, but look at her behavior! She's having an affair!"

People sneered as they spoke ill about Rachel.

Rachel looked horrifying. Her face had turned completely pale. On stage, Rachel was having a nightmare whereas off stage, Aaron and Darren were no better.

Aaron had not expected this, even in his dreams. Seeing Rachel on stage with a pale face, he felt so much pain, as if someone had ripped his heart apart.

Darren balled up his fist tightly. He clenched his jaw when he saw all those photos.

'I underestimated him!' He thought.

He turned his face in the direction where Aaron stood, expecting a gloating expression. But to his surprise, he saw the same confusion and anger on his face. So, it was not his doing?

He eyed Rachel, who was on the verge of crying. Her eyes were filled with tears, which were threatening to fall at any moment.

"He looks familiar, right?" Someone whispered.

"Yeah, he was introduced as the CEO of Lee industries."

"Oh, right! I remember it's Lee Aaron!"

"There was no news of him except him taking over his father's new branch. I wonder what is his relationship with Rachel."

"How am I supposed to know that?"

"They both seem to be close."

"Can't you see? They are one-hundred-percent close!"

The crowd was still busy gossiping about their relationship. Colin was the one who came out of the trance first. He felt his head was going to split up. When he saw those photos, Rachel being with another man on her engagement day, he felt an indescribable pain and anger. More than that, he felt hurt! She had done it behind his back. She had betrayed him, his deceased son, and, her whole family including Darren. He couldn't believe it. How in the world, of all the people, Rachel could be do something like this?

He took some deep breathes, walked towards her.

"Tell me, Rachel. Tell me it's all fake. Tell dad that someone has made it up, okay?"

He pleaded her in a low voice. He just wanted to hear her say that everything was fake.

Rachel just hung her head down. She knew she had hurt her father. She could not say it as fake. Indeed, it was her in those photos. How could she lie? But those photos didn't explain the situation she was in. She wanted to scream and tell everyone that there was nothing going on between her and Aaron. But would anyone believe her?

She mocked herself.

Colin looked like a person who had hit by a thunderbolt. He knew it couldn't be fake but still, he had hoped, Rachel, to deny it. Even though, technically, she was his daughter-in-law, but he had trusted her more than his own daughter! But now...

Suddenly, his mobile phone vibrated. With a lot of difficulties, he took it out from the pocket. It was a message from an unknown number. He felt his fingers shaking.

[Unknown number: Have a taste of betrayal, my friend. I hope you liked my gift!]

Colin was in disbelief! Now he knew who was behind all of this. He gritted his teeth!

He clearly knew what the other person wanted. Back then, he had protected his family and family's reputation against that person. And, this time, it was of no difference!

But, this didn't change the fact that Rachel was at fault.

The weekly update is here! I hope you guys liked it. The next chapter is on the way.
