Battle in the Forest Part 1

A blackbird flew graciously through the sky. It was majestic. That was until Ruby came flying in and accidently hit the bird, killing it. 

"Birdie no!" she cried out. 

As she plummeted fast, she grabbed her weapon and fired off a few shots to slow her down before turning the weapon into it's Scythe form to catch a branch on a tree. This allowed her to fall down at a slower pace than before. When she lands, she quickly starts running through the forest, searching for someone with a single thought in her mind. 

("Gotta find Yang! Gotta find Yang!, gotta find Yang, gotta find...") Ruby said within her mind. 

Ruby then starts shouting out into the forest. 

"Yang! Yaaang!" she calls out. 

Not hearing a response, she then thinks of potential scenarios. 

("Oh, this is bad, this is really bad... what if i can't find her? What if someone finds her first? Well, there's always Jaune. He's nice, he's funny... i don't think he's very good in a fight. Ooh! What about Ryder! He's helpful, kind and he's my best friend. Just gotta find him though.") Ruby thought. 

She gets out of her daydream and speaks out loud. 

"Okay... who else do i know in this school? There's Yang, Jaune, Blake, Ryder aaand...." Ruby trailed off before she skids to a halt. Before her stood Weiss as she turned to face Ruby. Weiss stops just in time for their eyes to meet and a deathly silent pause ensues. This is of course broken by Weiss who turned on her heel and walked off. 

"Wait! Where are you going!?" Ruby asks, panicking. 

Ruby stops trying to follow her and kicks the ground dejectedly. 

"We're supposed to be teammates." 

As she walked away, she struggled to push aside some branches. One hits her but she pushes it off. She reaches a clearing and sighs in relief before noticing Jaune stuck on a tree. Pyrrha's spear pinning him to the tree by his hood. He was trying to dislodge it. Jaune took notice of her and gave an embarrassed wave. Weiss imply turns and heads back in the direction she came from and Jaune groans dejectedly. She passes Ruby and pulls the girl by the hood. 

"By no means does this make us friends." Weiss said. 

Ruby was overjoyed as she was dragged into the bushes by Weiss. 

"You came back!" 

Jaune, who was watching this scene from his tree, starts waving his hands desperate to get their attention. 

"Wait! Come back! Who's going to get me down from here!?" he cried out. 

He then hears a voice from below. 

"Jaune?" Pyrrha asks. 

Jaune looked down and saw Pyrrha. 

"Do you... Have any spots left on your team?" Pyrrha asks. 

"Very funny." He said while crossing his arms. 

[Ryder's Location] 

Ryder brushes off some twigs from his clothing. He managed to slow his decent by using his grappling hook and swinging around spider man style. But he hit the ground after he hit a tree. It hurt but his Aura healed him. He tightened his gauntlets before looking around. He was lost as he didn't know where to even go. He starts walking but hears gunfire. He dared not walk in it's direction as he theorized that some of the participants have engaged the monsters that lurk in the forests. He learned of them, they're called Creatures of Grimm or Grimm for short. They range from all shapes and sizes and are mainly based on the appearances of mythological monsters from Earth or animals from earth. Grimm symbolizes the fears of humanity and feed of negative emotions. So, if you're angry, sad or any other negative emotion, it'll attract Grimm to your location. Its why there so deadly and that's why Huntsmen exist. To fight them off and protect Humanity. 

As he walked through the forest, he heard a growl and heavy steps. He turned around and saw a tall Grimm that looked like a knight in armor. Its white bone armor is accompanied by glowing red decals across its body. Its head was almost demonic as its mouth was full of sharp ragged teeth. Sharp fingers and almost demonic looking eyes. He's never heard of or seen a Grimm like this before. Granted this is the first time he's seen Grimm. But he looked into information regarding Grimm types. Nothing about a Knight looking Grimm. If it's new, he'll call it a Grimm Warden. The Warden growls before roaring at Ryder. Its loud roar was almost ear piercing. The Warden then charged him, running at him with killing intent. This was it, an actual battle. Ryder prepared himself. As the Warden got close, it tried to punch him, but Ryder jumped to the side and dodged its fist. 

The beast turned its head towards him and roared again. Ryder got ready but decided to hit it from afar. He clenches his fists, and a Fire Dust cartridge rolls into place. He then pushed his hand forward and a stream of fire shot out of his palm. The stream of fire hits the Warden, but the beast held its arms up to block the attack. The Warden then runs through the flames as its bone armor protects it. It swats Ryder away like a fly. Ryder went flying and hit a tree. Ryder tried to get back up but the beast ran at him and grabbed him before throwing him far away. Ryder hits another tree before he hears another roar from the Warden. Ryder's aura heals his damage as he gets back up. The Warden snarls as it waits for Ryder to do something. Ryder then chambers Lightning and Wind dust into his gauntlets. The Warden snarled and roared before running at him. Ryder brought his hands up to the sides before slamming them together in a hard and mighty clap. 

As he clapped his hands, Lightning and Wind dust merged, creating a shockwave that erupted forward. The shockwave hit the Warden and the Grimm went flying into a tree. Shattering the tree entirely and letting it crash into the ground creating a small trench. It let out a short screech before it pushes itself off the ground. It then violently turned around and roared at Ryder. The beast runs at him and knocks a tree aside with its arm. Ryder jumps in place before he arc's his left heel around and kicks the beast square in the face with his heel. This caused the beast to stumble to the side and nearly fall. Ryder then bounced in place with his fists ready. The beast turns and swings its right arm at him, but Ryder flipped over it. The beast then raises its left arm before thrusting its claws downward to impale Ryder, but the boy rolled backwards dodging it. The beast ran after him and tried to grab him with both hands. But Ryder chambered wind dust in his boots and jumped upward. 

Thanks to the Wind dust, he not only jumped exceptionally high, but he also sent out a mini gust of wind that made the Warden stumble backwards. It snarled before looking up. Ryder thrusts his fist forward sending out his grappling hook which attaches to the ground behind the beast. Ryder then dives down with the momentum given by his grappling hook. With added momentum, he thrusts his left fist forward and punches the Warden in the face and slams the monster onto the ground. But when Ryder landed, he rolled forward and recalled his grappling hook. The beast screeched out in pain as it then stood up as did Ryder. The beast held its face before turning to Ryder to reveal that Ryder had cracked its face plate. Before he could do anything, the beasts back began cracking before two large wings broke out of the bone armor and it let out a screeching roar. Ryder's eyes widened as he realized that this thing could fly. 

The beast flapped its wings and took to the skies. Ryder looked up watching it fly around before it flew down and towards him. He prepared himself for battle. The beast was so fast that it caught him off guard and grabbed him with its hands and took to the skies once more. The beast roared in his face before throwing him. As Ryder now fell from the sky, he shoots out his grappling hook that attaches to a tree and he swings from it like Spider-Man. He gets back into the sky and as he gets higher and higher, he turns to the Warden that circles around and comes right at him. He chambers Lightning Dust into his gauntlets causing sparks to emit on his gauntlet's fingers. He then let out a flurry of Lightning bolts dance off his fingers and made contact with the Warden. It screeched out in pain as it got shocked by the Lightning. Ryder falls through the trees and hits branches which break his fall. The Warden on the other hand hits the ground at full speed. As Ryder hit the floor, he coughed a little before he let the pain go away. 

He got up off the ground and looked over at the warden which lay on the ground motionless. It landed face first and created a small crater. Ryder sighed knowing it had been slain. He then walks off to try and find anyone else. But as he walked away, the Warden's hand twitched.
