Obviously, the paper factory would still need a little more time before they could mass-produce paper. But it was only a matter of time, really.

'But having only the paper is meaningless, isn't it?'

Why was Kim Gi-Wu even making paper in the first place?

Sure, it could be for the purpose of drawing nice pictures on it. But the biggest reason was to record things on paper, wasn't it?

Which meant you now needed a writing system. And Kim Gi-Wu had already made up his mind a long time ago to spread Hangul in this land.

That's why, before the paper and writing tools could be mass-produced, he set off on a new project to modify Hangul to match the pronunciation of this particular part of the world.

'Your Majesty, Sejong the Great. Thank you very much!'

Thankfully, though, this project wasn't all that difficult. He was working off from an excellent foundation called Hangul, after all.
