Katelina went to bed alone, and when Jorick joined her he pretended nothing had happened. He even went so far as to tease her, "You decided to warm the bedding up for me?"
She stared at him incredulously. "Excuse me?" What happened to their argument? Was he really so ADD?
He ignored her comment and stripped his clothes off slowly. They landed on the floor in a heap, next to the ones from the day before. She thought about mentioning the laundry, but that sounded like a dowdy old housewife. Somehow, that was the last thing she wanted.
Jorick slipped into bed next to her, without turning off the light. He sat perfectly still, his spine straight and his eyes trained uncertainly on the blanket. Katelina thought he might actually be going to apologize, so she decided to nudge him along. "Yes?"
He turned his face to her and gave her a half amused smile. "I was just wondering if you wouldn't like something to wear to bed."
"Something? Like what?"
