CHAPTER 16 - THEY MUST HAVE OFFENDED THE WRONG GODDESS.

Arthur packed the beast horns into the sack he brought along.

"Thanks for the horns... I'll be here early tomorrow. Bring along those wooden swords, they'd be of use," he said and gaited into the woods.

"Alright...that is a lot for today, let's go home," Lucian said as he went ahead to change his clothes.

"Wait we're leaving now..?? What about our sword fight?" Nate lamented, he hadn't done anything today.

"You mean our playfight...you're so eager to be the master of a playfight.." Lucian responded with a charming smirk on his face.

Nate stared at that mountain-moving smile and suddenly lost all his words.

"Screw you...little god..screw you..." was all he could spout.

"I am not teaching you swordsmanship again..." Nate said with a glare

"Yhh...and that's because we've finally found someone better. Our embarrassing moments are finally over. Don't you think so??" Lucian asked turning to look at Nate with a relieved and hopeful expression.

"....." Nate's lips twitched. Little god was so mean.

" But I must sympathize with you, you didn't get to play master for long. Must be painful"

".??.." Nate blamed no one, but that man, yes... Arthur, it was all his fault. He thought he could use this chance to command little god around a little, but that man spoilt his plans.

They changed their clothes and headed out of the woods while discussing what lies Nate should tell his father tomorrow.

Just then...

"Oooh...who do we have here, the freak and the freak keeper.."

A voice came out from a distance. Lucian and Nate didn't need to look at the owner to tell who it was. They could tell just from the voice, that it was none other than Roland, the town mayor's son. Their constant bell reminder of who they are.

Nate and Lucian sighed. They must have offended the wrong goddess today, to have met Roland.

The owner of the voice approached, and a head with deep brownish hair came to view. He had his usual minions following him and a girl with a delicate face and long black hair, standing beside him.

" So the devil comes out to take a stroll too, or have you come out to burn another farmer," Roland said with a disgusting look on his face while his minions began to laugh.

" Tsk...Roland, as the mayor's son, shouldn't you have known your principles by now? Your words are as disgusting as your face. " Nate said not giving him a face at all.

Lucian chuckled. To be honest, usually, none of these things bothered him, as long as they don't go after those he cared about. He couldn't see the disgust they showed on their faces toward him, and neither will he read their thoughts to know the unnecessary things they thought about him either. So none of their words affected him. They could call him whatever they wanted, he didn't care. After all, they were somehow true, he may be the devil for all he cared.

" You dare call me disgusting??" Roland was furious.

"Ooh! Do you think am lying?? How about you ask the girl beside you? Looks like your face isn't enough to impress her. She's blushing and her eyes are filled with so much infatuation looking at Lucian." Nate pointed out with a smirk.

Roland looked at the girl beside him, and sure enough, she was blushing. Realizing she had been caught, she got back to her senses and diverted her gaze.

" Wh...who's looking, stop spouting nonsense...." she stared back at Roland looking as if she had been wronged.

"I would never be interested in a blind freak," she said now disgustingly looking at Lucian.

"It's alright...trying hard to manipulate and captivate people is the devil's strong suit"

Roland said in an attempt to comfort her. He hated how handsome Lucian was. It made him feel so inferior. Especially when the girls looked at him that way, although they never got closer to him because they feared him, he still hated it.

Lucian rolled his eyes and Nate snorted. All the girls were exactly this way. They will always stare at Lucian with infatuation, but they feared to get closer to him. Their facial expression would first have an infatuation for his looks, then it will change to fear and disgust when they remember or find out he's blind and a freak. Too bad Lucian didn't care at all. He couldn't see all those looks. He initially couldn't even differentiate between a girl and a boy until he heard the voice difference. It was just recently that he managed to notice the differences in their auras.

" Nate let's go," Lucian said, trying to pull Nate away. He couldn't be bothered by these people. He was starting to feel bored already.

"Hey...freak! Where do you think you are going, he insulted me and insulted Rosaline, am not done dealing with him yet" Roland shot back, he wasn't going to lose to these freaks, not especially when Rosaline was here.

" So what are you going to do? If you want to touch him, you'll have to come through me first. Am taking my friend away. If you have nothing better to do, go back to the pen you shot out from, not unless you want to end up like the farmer you talked about. You don't think that is just a rumor, do you? "

Lucian spoke, his voice was gentle and husky but somehow it managed to send chills down their spine. And those eyes felt like they were digging into their souls. Even Nate shivered, he couldn't help staring at him. That menacing aura made him look so good and mysterious.

Roland stood frozen. Although they had heard the story about him burning a farmer, they didn't believe it. But looking at Lucian now, something told him that might not just be a rumor. Before he came to his senses, Lucian and Nate were already gone. He cursed as he bit his lips in embarrassment.
