Chapter 9: Entrance exam part 3

John came out from the tree where he was hiding to confront the people they had seen.

"Oh, who the hell are you?" The arrogant Nobel was first to speak while his follower stood beside him. While the girl stood by the Nobel, she remained silent.

"My name is John and you?"

"To think you don't know my name. You must be a peasant, a lower life form if you don't know. The name is Erick Bradley of the Nobel house of Bradley." He puffed out his chest in a proud manner. John just gave him a look as if he was looking at an idiot.

"Damn I shouldn't have even asked. It just made me care even less. Tell me, do you practice your introduction? Your family must be famous for their arrogance." John still had his usual blank stare as he said this. Surprisingly all three of them got mad about this. John didn't think the girl would care until after what she said.

"You dare talk to my fiancée like that?" The girl blew his mind. They were engaged. It was an unexpected turn of events for him. The girl was good-looking, to say the least. She had long blond hair with blue eyes and was beautiful.

"Well didn't see that coming..." Before he finished a {Fireball} shot straight towards his face. He quick cast {Extreme Pressure} on the fireball and it disappeared. The person who cast it was Eric's sidekick. He looked shocked when it disappeared. So did Erick and his fiancée.

"To think Someone with rare magic is among the peasants, why don't you team up with me?" Erick showed no shame yet again.

{Extreme Pressure}

John cast the spell on Ericks Side Kick. It caught him off guard as he was sent to the ground hard. Blood splattered from his face as his face smacked the ground. He was knocked out in an instant.

"I work for no one," john said Erick looked at him with anger apparent on his face.

{Decreased Gravity}

John used this spell on himself and became lighter. It lowered the amount of gravity on his body. He became faster and appeared before Erick and struck him in the stomach. John signaled for Aria and Alex. They stepped out from the trees they were hiding behind. And came to John's side. Erick's fiancé shot an {Ice Blade} towards John. Alex shot it down with {Lightning Bolt}. Erick stood up, so Aria cast {Gust}. Erick saw this and cast {Earth Wall} to protect himself. The attack hit the wall but it didn't break it.

"You are going to regret that," Erick said as he stood up. He extended his hand and said two words that shocked Aria, John, and Alex.

"….{Lightning Strike}." A bolt of lightning shot toward John and struck his chest. It blew him back towards a tree and he smacked the tree with a loud boom. Erick used a tier 2 spell he had two different magic affinities.

"JOHN!!" Aria and Alex yelled in unison. Erick's fiancé made her move. She shot out Three {Ice Blades} at John, aiming strictly at him. Alex got in the middle of the blades.

"Race skill….{Blood Control}." He summoned his Blood and mimicked the ice blades. He shot them towards the Ice blades and shattered them. He did this by hardening his blood with mana. A trick Jack taught him.

"Damn nasty vampire," Erick said as he shot a tier 2 {Lightning Strike} at Alex sending him shooting backward as well. Aria had just finished checking on John when Alex was sent flying right next to her.

"Alex!" She gritted her teeth as she turned around.

"Well, you sure are a beauty, what do you think? Join my team and you will be treated well. Maybe you will even become another one of my wives." Erick's fiancé looked at him in disgust but she didn't say anything. She had no say in who she got to marry. It was her family who chose for her.

"Go to hell, that breath makes me want to throw up. Let alone getting married to you." Aria scoffed at his words. He frowned and raised his hand. Lightning crackled between his fingers.

"Then you can die." Erick was about to finish casting when someone grabbed his hand. John was grabbing his hand without looking anyone in the eyes.

"John!" Aria was shocked she didn't think he would be able to stand. Suddenly the air around him turned dark and he burst out in laughter "hehe hehe hehe".

"No, John is sleeping right now, the name is Cain, dear Aria," John said. Aria was shocked as he looked up he seemed way different even though he was still John.

His eyes had also transformed into demonic eyes. Erick felt fear as he saw John's eyes and so did his Fiancé.

"It's too late to run, I'm going to kill you~." His smile was wicked and creepy. His voice was also deep and scary.

"It's been a while since I've been free so let's have some fun, yeah," John said as Erick tried to break free but John's grip was strong. Erick's fiancé fired ice at John. John let go of Erick as he fell back. He turned his hand towards the Ice and black flames instantly covered his hand. The ice didn't even reach him before it melted.

"Get out of my sight...Tier 2 gravity magic {Force Push}." After John said this a powerful force sent Erick's fiancé flying. She hit a tree and lost consciousness.

"There is no way you can use Tier 2 magic as a Black core!" Erick said he couldn't believe his eyes, nor could Aria. John glared at him. His red eyes sent shivers down his spine. He felt inferior to him in everything at this moment. Black flames covered John's fist.

{Decreased Gravity}

John suddenly vanished and appeared right in front of Erick. Since he didn't have time to cast, he blocked his face with his hand. A punch was thrown straight at his arm by John. The heat was so intense that Erick could feel it even before the punch landed. When the attack connected Erick screamed in pain. Erick passed out from the flame because it hurt so much more than a regular flame. Erick's body was sent sliding across the ground with a look of anguish on his face. The three of them disappeared in a blue light once they had all been defeated. John's flames disappeared. There were some burn marks on his hands but he acted as if they were not there. He smiled as his eyes flared an even brighter red.

"J…John?" Right now Aria was afraid of even coming near him.

"I told you my name is Cain." He said in an irritated voice.

"Well, it doesn't matter for now. When John wakes up tell that fool he owes me one for saving his life. This fool was looking to get me killed." Those were John's last words before he passed out. His body fell to the ground so Aria rushed to his side. Alex was slowly waking up when a loud ringing was heard.

A voice sounded through the forest.

"Congratulations to the Last 150 survivors of the test." The words were brief as white light surrounded the remaining people in the forest. In a flash, they were back at the school.
