Chapter 7: Entrance exam part 1

*3 Months Later*

Months quickly passed and they were now getting ready for school. A magic school where the best of the best can be found. If you mess up here you can get hurt or even worse, you can end up dead. Jack told them that stuff to make sure they did not slack on their training. They all got ready for school.

"Is anyone else nervous? It's a normal school, just mystical and dangerous. Nevertheless, I'm nervous. It's exciting in a way." Alex said with a confused expression. They had gotten into the limo with Jack since he ran the school.

"We'll just to give a fair warning. I'm having you guys take the entrance test for magic abilities like the rest of the applicants. I'm willing to let you guys slip by the academics part. However, that's as far as I can help." The three of them were not worried as they had been training for the last 3 months with Jack. Jack was unstoppable even though he was human they couldn't even get close enough to hurt him. He was inhuman in their minds. During those three months, John's eyes returned to how they normally were and he looked human without them. He couldn't control when they turned colors or anything. He found out from Jack that demons normally can't have their eyes change like that which made John seem abnormal. When they arrived Jack immediately left them. They walked in through the school gates where tons of kids of different races were. There was a giant podium outside where they were. They all were waiting for someone to speak. The three of them stayed together until someone came up to speak.

"Welcome all of you to the Magic Academy. As you know to pass and be accepted fully into this Academy you have to take an Academics test and A magic test. Since you have shown up, that means you have passed the academic test. You are now ready to take the magic test." Jack had managed to get them all past the Academic test which the three of them were thankful for.

"The magic test is a survival test. Out of the 5,000 people here, only 150 students will pass." The man stopped when students started whispering. It became louder as more complaints started to form. The man then snapped his fingers and uttered "silence" as an invisible dome covered all the students. Now none of them were able to hear each other or speak to each other. Like they lost their voices. The only voice they heard was the man as he continued.

"It will be a fight in the wilderness against all of the students here. You can form teams and do whatever you want. Your only goal is to survive until there are only 150 students left. I look forward to seeing your results." After the man finished he walked off. Students started glowing blue as particles of light started swallowing their vision as a flash of light blinded them. When John came too Aria and Alex were missing, and he was alone in a huge forest.

"Damn. So he was serious when he said survival." John looked at his wrist where a number was ticking down little by little.

"4,900? So this must be the number of people who have been eliminated 100 people already. I wonder if they are killed or saved before they die by that light." John didn't have time to think much before a giant ball of fire was flying straight at him. He quickly stuck out his hand and activated his tier 1 spell, Called {Extreme Pressure}. This added more gravity to the fireball, dispersing the flames due to the pressure.

"Seeing as I eliminated your fireball so easily you must still be in the black core stage I assume," John said like he was talking to himself before a girl came out from a tree a few feet away.

Tier was basically how strong a magic attack is. As the core color increases so does your tier of magic.

"I had terrible luck getting a gravity user. Why don't we team up and save the energy?" The girl said she seemed like she didn't even want to be here let alone fight.

"I would but it's a hassle to trust someone who just shot a fireball towards you so I'll firmly pass."

{Extreme Pressure}

He cast the spell again and the girl sensed the magic and dodged to the left. The area where she stood cracked from the pressure. John ran towards her as he threw a punch straight at her face. She tilted her head, avoiding it. She then stuck up her hand and shot a fireball at his face. Before the fireball got the chance to fire John had already finished casting {Extreme Pressure} sending her to the ground and also causing the fireball to be put out. When the girl passed out, her body disappeared and John's hand count dropped down by one. "Harder than I thought" John said as he opened his stats screen.

Honestly, he still felt inadequate and wanted more power. "The others should be ok. They are not dumb enough to get into anything stupid…. Well, Aria isn't dumb enough."
