Chapter 11

Audrey:

"How did you get the Alpha to fall for your lies?" Mother asked, entering the room that I call my own. It was no bigger than the bathroom that I bathed in this morning. It pained to know that a man who didn't even know me took the initiative to fend for me while my mother went to turn her back on me.

Beta Arturo stood by the door, waiting for me if I needed anything, ensuring that no one hurt me. I didn't have anything to pack. I never was allowed to have anything, but there was ONE thing that I wanted to give her. She was my mother, and it was something that I always wanted to do.

"I did not lie. You know very well, mother, that I do not lie." I said, and she raised an eyebrow before wrapping her hand around my neck. I froze, not saying a word for a few seconds.
