"Wendell!" She called out to him when she caught sight of him at the end of the hallway.

He didn't respond. He picked up his pace and prayed she would give up. But Safira was persistent.

"Wendell, wait!"

"Leave me alone!" He yelled back before shifting into his wolf form and sprinting off.

He thought it would help put some distance between them, but Safira still caught up to him.

"Wendell, please… listen-"

"Why can't you just leave me alone?!" He yelled at her again, baring his teeth.

Safira shifted back to her human form, holding both hands up in the air as she hoped for a truce.

"I just wanted to make sure you're alright," she confessed, keeping her voice void of emotion to make things clear-cut.

Wendell growled at her again. His expression softened a little. Eventually, he muttered a few curses under his breath and shifted back into his human form too. He ignored her, choosing to face the view beyond the cliff they were on instead.
