Chapter 34

Connor

THE bright sun and hot temperature didn't seem to bother Tara as she clumped on our backyard, carting boxes of rose bushes. The weather has been unpredictable for the last couple of days: stagnating hot then blowing cold.

Arrow, our new dog, ran around my mate. I smiled when Tara almost stepped on him but was able to sidestep the puppy. He seems to be warming up to her now; just yesterday when we got him, he all but barked and tried to bite my mate.

Isabelle came to view, also carrying another box with a bunch of roses in them. I decided to go down from the porch and help the girls as they tried to push around the materials they have.

"Alpha, good morning," Isabelle greeted.

I nodded at her and walked towards Tara. She was kneeling on the ground while Arrow sat beside her, sniffing the bag of fertilizer.

"I didn't realize this was going to be so much work," Tara said as she stood up.

"Regretting it now?" I asked.
