SADNESS was a feeling I refused to acknowledge. It’s there and yet never truly present. There are people we meet in our lives that give us the definition of a feeling, an emotion. Tara was the one who gave me the meaning of being me, my mother defined so much anger and my father was of pure betrayal.

Today, I watched as a man powerful enough to rule this country mourned the loss of a brother. Alpha Nathaniel stood beside his car as he looked at the restaurant in front of him. I can see him through the window and I know he can sense my eyes on him.

A woman got out from the other side of the car and went beside Alpha Nathaniel. By the gentle hold he had on her, I knew it was his mate: the human Luna of Gray Seas.

It was not uncommon for wolves to be paired with humans, but it came as a shock when the half-witch, half-wolf Alpha was mated to a human. Gray Seas became even more famous among the werewolf community.
