Alpha's Rebellious Mate

“Who are you? What are you doing here?” Alpha Rofus asked in a cold and serious tone, staring at the young woman in front of him. A young woman who caused his heart to race instantly. “Stay away from me! Please, I am scared of you!” She was sobbing already. “Calm down. I won’t hurt you,” he said before disappearing into the woods. “She is our mate...” his inner wolf whispered in his mind, something he was not expecting to happen. She? A mate? But she’s a human! Seeking solace from her mother’s hasty decision to remarry shortly after her father’s death, Amelia flees into the forbidden Forester Woods, unaware that her impulsive escape will lead to an encounter with Rofusio Melbore, the newly appointed Alpha of the Blazepaw Guardians pack. Overcome by an undeniable connection, he instinctively reaches out to comfort her, wiping away her tears. Amelia's Worries

My initial reaction was to bow my head in embarrassment. I would have totally forgotten about it. Is it wrong for me to express my opinions? I simply want us to talk normally.

"Are you sure? I guessed there was one."

I know this is also nonsense, but I do not have anything else to say. I just like us to have a conversation.

"A sudden downpour is unpredictable, accompanied by a gust of wind. Thankfully, I am already at home. If not, I will be in trouble going home because I did not bring an umbrella with me."

By responding to my queries, I presumed I was overwhelmed, and Rofus wanted to speak with me. He said nothing, which surprised me. I am not confident, and I cannot explain it in words. Suddenly, I felt at ease in his presence, as if it were nothing unusual. Unlike before, his presence made me uneasy for some reason.

"Where do you think Nikita has gone?" I proceeded, hoping that he had a hint and that he would respond to this question.

"I am not sure, but I think she paid a quick visit where her parents rested."

My eyes were drawn to him because of his response; I understood what he meant, but I was interested in where that place was.

"What I mean is their graveyard," he went on, seeing me still staring and waiting for his next reaction.

Ah, that explains why she was not here yet. Still, I cannot help but wonder why her reason for going there was a headache rather than something else that was more in line with her true emotions. She could say that she missed them, not with other excuses.

"Rofus, may I ask you something?"

He nodded, which prompted me to continue my sentence. Before that, I adjusted my seat. I even let go of the utensil I was using to concentrate my attention on him.

"Is today the anniversary of Nikita's parents' death?"

I only know that Nikita's parents both died when she was young. That's it. I did not even ask anything because she might think I was intruding on her life.

"No, but every time Nikita is not feeling well. She always pays them a visit."

It comes to my mind that I still do not know my friend well. There are still many aspects of her about which I am completely unaware. I had no idea it was her habit when she felt strange sensations in her body or emotions. I must talk to her about it when I have time to console her. I would like to get to know her better.

"Now, I understand."

He just stared at me for a brief moment. We began again to eat. And because the food Rofus brought was mostly suitable for three to four people, we had a lot of leftovers. I just covered it on the table and didn't put it inside the fridge yet. I am sure Nikita will be hungry when she comes home later and the first thing she will look for is the food to consume.

The rain stopped just as we were finishing helping each other with the used dishes and putting them in the sink as if it had been planned from above. Rofus stood up and adjusted the shoes he had not taken off earlier. Knowing him for a little while, I knew it was a sign that he was about to leave.

"You would not wait for Nikita?"

"Nope." he shook his head, not able to look at me as he kept busy himself in his shoes. "I am very familiar with her. She will come home late later."

I just nod, despite the fact that I wanted him to stay with me for a little longer. I can't tell him directly not to leave so that I have someone with me tonight. What is the big deal? I used to be alone. Also, it is a shameful act, so I avoid saying it.

What if he was on his way somewhere and I kept causing him problems and delays?

I can not even blame the rain and make it an excuse that has already stopped. He will have a different perspective later. Worst-case scenario, what if he misinterpreted all of my gestures?

"Just let her know I came here shortly," he spoke out, getting ready to leave.

"Yeah, sure."

"Lock the door. Nikita will knock and let you know when she arrives."

"Okay, I think she had also a duplicate key."

"Good."

"Anyway, thank you for the food, Rofus. Also, thanks for accompanying me and staying with me for dinner tonight."

"You're welcome. I am leaving now."

"Take care."

I led him to the door and watched him until he got out of the gate. Seeing him leave makes me feel a little sad. I do not know why, but I can feel it deep within my heart. As Rofus suggested, I locked the door and returned to the sink to wash the plates before going to bed. After that, I went into my room. Busying myself on my phone. I tried to contact Nikita's phone number several times, but it was still out of reach. I waited for her to come home but unfortunately, I fell asleep while waiting for her to come. When I woke up, it was already dawn. The sun has already risen, and some of its rays already cover the entire window.

"Oh, shoot! Is Nikita back home?"

I rushed out of my room and went to her room to check on her. I had completely forgotten about her warning not to go into her room. The only thing on my mind at the moment is seeing her in her bed.

"What time did you go home last night? Why did not you wake me up?"

I bombarded her with questions when I noticed she had returned home and was lounging on her bed.

"Do you know how long I have been waiting for you? I am extremely worried. Where did you go, anyway?" I added, slowly sitting on the edge of her bed, "Next time, tell me where you are going so I am not nervous!"

Nikita just wrapped herself in her blanket. Her appearance indicated that she was already awake, but she was too lazy to respond to my query. I am curious as to what time she came home. It was probably already late.

"You must be aware that your cousin has come here. He is looking for you."

She only groans and covers her ears. Based on her reaction, she does not want to talk to anyone and does not want to be disturbed right now.

"Get out of my room, Amelia!" she hysterically yelled at me.

I laughed as I dodged the pillow she threw at me.

"What have I told you before? You are not allowed to enter my room. Have you completely forgotten? Get out now! Leave me alone, Amelia!"

As she said that, I stood up and backed away. I was not expecting that.

Knowing Nikita and living with her for a few weeks, she does everything she says. I have recently noticed that she is also quite sensitive during these fast days.

"Oops, I apologize. I did not remember." I raised my hand to stop her, "I am leaving right now. We can talk later! Bye!" I hurriedly left.
