* Alec *
My second chance mate was mysterious. It was something I didn't quite understand yet but I was determined to, by all means. I leaned back on the armchair as the early morning sun seeped in through the half open window blinds. I had woken up about an hour ago, (leaving Bellatrix on the bed as she was still fast asleep) to ponder on the sudden interest in twist in my life.
It was weird how I had gone from heartbroken white wolf Alpha, to this Alpha whose second chance mate is a buck load of mystery. I wouldn't have concluded that if I had at least gotten more than a scrap of information about her, but the only thing I was able to find out was that she had a sister who was due to attend Oaks college today.
Anything else wasn't found, it was like she didn't exist at all. That alone put me on the edge not to talk of her mere touch being able to cause a disturbance to the pool of transition and the fact that Hera still could not decipher what she was. Also add that, her mere existence was driving me crazy, I would understand that this was because she is my mate but the pull was stronger and even though I hated to admit it, it was way more stronger than the pull I had with Julianne.
"On a scale of one to ten, how formal am I supposed to be to you?" I caught a whiff of Bellatrix's scent even before she spoke.
I raised my head to look at her as she walked into the living room. "Good morning to you too, Bella." I replied sarcastically.
"The name is Bellatrix, Mr Alpha, and you haven't answered my question." She stated, ignoring my sarcasm as she took a sip from the cup of milk she had obviously picked from the refrigerator. She settled down on the rugged floor.
"When did you wake up?"
"A while ago." She said and sipped from her drink again, then she looked me over and suddenly shook her head.
"Are you not supposed to be dealing with pack's work at this moment instead of lazily sitting here and watching the sun rise?"
"Even the pack would understand me spending time with my mate." I retorted with a laugh.
Bellatrix rolled her eyes. "Do not call me that!"
"You said what mate?" I teased. She glared at me but didn't say anything else again. The silence was stretched for a while before I finally spoke up again.
"I have to introduce you to the pack soon, as my Luna." It wasn't actually true, because I had no plan of letting the pack meet her as their Luna until I found out facts about her, but for a reason I had to say it.
Bella gulped down the whole content of her cup, slammed the glass down on the table and stood up to stare at me. "I have absolutely no interest in being a part of your world, Alpha Alec." She stated with a note of finality and stormed into the room.
I sighed and stood up, I had to see Hera again.

"You are slowly drifting away from your Pack Alec and you don't even notice it."
I rubbed my forehead lightly, as if trying to ease my imaginary headache while I listened to Hera speak. I had left my Cabin, as I liked to call it – even though it was a bit more bigger— to the pack house after Bellatrix had also left without saying as much as a word to me. I had let her leave, for a while if I might add, because I wasn't about to let her leave me like she did the first time else I go crazy from loosing my mate twice in a row. I had lost Julianne and now Bella was my only hope of existence.
"I have no idea of what you are saying Hera." I said on reply to Hera's statement as I looked through documents and files of the pack's welfare. It was something I loved doing, keeping track of the Pack's growth and development, well it was part of an Alpha's job, but then I just particularly loved it — keeping track of how much we've grown since that douche of a man who claimed to be my Father died a decade ago, and so far we had really grown large especially with the fact that we now have a college that homes werewolves from different packs.
"You are forgetting who you really are, and what your kind Exist for." I groaned inwardly, I hated it when Hera started to put significance on my being a white wolf. She weirdly believed that my existence had to do with some stupid prophecy that had been told from centuries to centuries.
"Hera, this is not why I called you here." Hera frowned at my blatant dismissal of her statement.
"You will understand my concern, soon enough."
"Tell me what you saw." I said, ignoring her statement.
Hera stayed quiet for a while and I was starting to think she didn't see anything about Bellatrix just like before until she spoke. "She is a witch, just like I am... But much more powerful and of the fae lineage.. She is the one true descendant of the Royal Fae
I was silent for a moment, trying to process what I had just heard. The faes... They were rare, very rare, and even history had it that they had gone into extinction, though some still believed they hadn't, they were even much rarer than white wolfs and definitely much more powerful especially if they were Royals. Funny now right? That my second chance is actually a fae witch. But the question is...
"How does she not know what she is? Clearly she has no idea that she is a supernatural being." I voiced out my curiosity to Hera.
"Because her powers are kept hidden from even herself, by something or someone or both. You are the one to help her realise what she is, and what she is meant to be."
"So now I am not just being saddled with a mate that doesn't even like me, I have to be a pathfinder in addition to that? Are you kidding me?" I snapped, running my hands through my hair.
"Actually Alec, Do you think all these are happening coincidentally? There has to be a reason. That's what you have to find out!"
"I do not care. I didn't ask for a fucking second chance mate, i was particularly fine with my lonesome life without Julianne."
"Were you?"
"Okay maybe I wasn't. But you told me I would never have a second mate after Julianne. You kept repeating it into my head, so now what the hell is this!"
"I do not understand why you are getting so worked up over this... Anyone would kill to be in your shoes."
Of course anyone would. I mean I was starting to come to terms with the fact that Bellatrix was my mate, and my wolf and I was starting to go crazy about her. But adding this to it was certainly too much for me to handle.
"Listen to me Alec, I understand that this is a lot to take in especially when Julianne has been gone for just four months, but like I said there is a reason why you have been chosen to do this. You have to understand."
I sighed and closed my eyes. I was never fit to be an Alpha. My Father often told me that. I was too weak to handle a pack... He was right because right now, all I wanted to do..was bolt.
