Long leave

Five hours before I return my pistol and handcuff. I stopped the car beside a huge complex. Leo blabbering something... Silas Weeping so I joined him. My mind went totally blank. I don't have any ideas about move next.

For a few minutes, we have been inside the car. I got an incoming call but at first, I didn't hear it. Leo took my mobile and showed it in front of my face. I was totally shocked. Has Leo become normal? But wrong, he again started to blabber. I checked my mobile, it's Ash. Then I remembered about Owen's sister being admitted in the hospital. I headed toward the hospital. I left Leo inside and locked the car. I carried Silas along with me. I reached reception, there already Ash, Owen and Ken standing. 

I called out Ken's name louder. 

"Ken... Come here soon." They will definitely be shocked by seeing a baby with me. "Please come here soon, Ken." I called again. Ken ran towards me. I took him to the parking area. 

"Ken here the car key. You take them to our residence."

"But sister, who is he? Whose kid is this?" 

"I will clear all your doubts later. Now, you take them." 

I again went inside the hospital, settled beside Ash and took a deep breath. I know Ash and Owen must have infinite questions to ask but by seeing I'm sitting silent, they both hold back and call me first. 

"Darling!"

"Sister!" 

"Owen, how is your sister? What happened to her?"

"Now, they have started the operation. After they finish it, only we will come to know about my sister. They said something about leukemia." 

"Nothing will happen. You stay strong Owen." 

"Okay, sister." 

"Where is Ken? Darling." Ash slowly held my hand and asked. 

"I told him to go to residence. Come, we can also go." I pulled Ash's hand slightly. 

"My mom and dad will join us today. Come let's go." 

"What!!! Aunt and uncle return back?!" 

"Yes, why?! What's wrong?" 

"Ash, can you please inform your parents to come to my mother's residence."

"Hmm, sure." 

"Owen, you stay here. Don't go anywhere. Afterwards I will send Ken to join you. Okay?!" 

"Is any issue going on?" 

"Nah, not like that. You should be careful. It's already late, we will move now. Come Ash we can go." 

We reached my mom's residence. While we entered the hall my parents and my two brothers were seated on the sofa. 

"Where is Silas? Ken." I questioned. 

"Both of them are in my room." 

"Okay, let them stay there for a while. But take care of Silas, Ken." 

"You don't worry, sister. We will take care of them." 

"Jia..." My mom called me. 

"Mother-in-law, first we will refresh and take some rest then we can talk." Ash requested. My mom didn't speak a word against Ash requests. Ash held my hand and took me to the bedroom. I silently moved along with him. 

"Darling, first go refresh." 

"Nah, honey..." I begin but Ash overtakes me. 

"No talking. First go and refresh." Ash dragged me, left inside the bathroom and closed the door.

Few minutes later, I  came outside. Ash is not here, so I checked my mobile. Senior Assistant Commissioner (SAC) has given a missed call. I called him back. SAC told to report to his office immediately. I wore my uniform and went to the hall where Ash is playing with Silas. 

"Honey." 

"Hmm, say darling." 

"The Senior Assistant Commissioner ordered me to report." 

"Hmm, okay be careful. Then who is this...?" 

"It's Leo." 

"Okay, you go and come soon. Don't worry, I will take care of them." Ash's heart was skipped for a second by hearing it's Leo. I informed my parents and started heading towards SAC's office. 

At the Senior Assistant Commissioner's Office. I knocked on the door twice. Sir told Yes by going through a case file. After noticing me, he closed the file and told me to come inside. I stepped inside and gave him a salute. He told me to sit, so I silently sat in front of him. 

"Do you know why I called you?" He questioned me. 

"No, sir." 

Suddenly, Sir stood up. Within a second, I stood up too. 

"Nah, take your seat Mrs. Ash." 

No more arguing with higher officials. It may lead to a terrible path. I silently sat in front of him. 

"So, where did you take Crya out from your station? Jia." 

"To her residence, sir." 

"But, why?" 

"She told her baby and husband are alone." 

"Huh? Her husband is there to take care of the baby and himself, so why did you take her out of the station?" 

"At first, I too had the same thought. But, she was sobbing too much so I took her out of the station. After reaching her residence only I came to know her husband is mentally distracted. But... But I didn't kill her, sir." 

"Yeah, I know Jia. But..." 

"But... What sir?"

"At Crya's last breath, you're the one with her. One of your constables told he will come with you. But, you said you don't need, stay at the station. Everyone is pointing at you, Jia." 

"No, sir, believe me no one asked me. There are only two constables, Alan was in the investigation room. There are two other suspects in the cell, so I did not take the constable." 

"I believe you, Jia. So I suggest you take a long leave." 

"SIR!!!" 

"I hope you understand this situation. Just leave this case to us. I will handle it for you." 

"Okay, I will take my leave sir." I stepped toward the door. SAC called me. I turned.

"Your gun."

"Ohh, sorry sir." I reached his desk, placed my pistol and handcuff. Then I left his office without giving a second look.
