Luna Park Jieun watched as So Hee carried her son back to the pack house and to the infirmary. She hadn't expected that Jiminie would be this defeated because of the devil himself, and her heart was shattered.

It hurt to know that the only reason Jiminie had found himself in that position was because she had failed as a mother. It was a lot even for her to handle, but then again, her son had been suffering for years and she had never once paid any heed to him.

She had ignored him, when he suffered, and now when he was covered in the blood of his child, a child that Jiminie refused to acknowledge because the only thing that mattered was Xiao Xiao, Luna Park felt her heart shatter.

"Mimi!" Luna Park cried but Beta Lee Tang stood right in her way.

"Leave. You're not needed here. Go find a fucking way to break this to the pack members. You have never been good enough for him, so go do at least something that could get you in the good books of Kiyoto," Lee Tang growled angrily.

He had had enough of this woman pretending that it was all sunshine with his best friend and he had fielded every little chance. There was no way that this woman was going to stay here and act like the world was all roses and sunshine when she had messed up more than once.

It was her fault that shit had gone sideways. It was her fault that her son was harassed by his father and she hadn't done shit to defend him. Lee Tang had known everything that happened and he refused to let the woman get close to his best friend.

Now that he had seen Jiminie's state without Agust, Lee Tang was willing to defy all the damned rules in the realm to fight for his best friend. Jiminie deserved better.

"You don't mean that," Luna Park said and Lee Tang scoffed at the woman's audacity. Which part of 'she was not wanted around Jiminie' was she not understanding?

"You wanna try me?" Lee Tang challenged and the warriors who were around them stepped back. It was dumb to challenge the beta of the pack, especially one who was so trusted by the alpha himself.

"Fine. Have it your way. No matter what happens, make sure my son is okay," Luna Park wanted and Lee Tang stared at the woman like she had lost all the possible brain cells. This woman couldn't be serious with them and it wasn't something that he was going to tolerate.

"Clean the damn blood off the floor. Maybe that will remind you that Lunas are supposed to know when their children are with their child from the day of conception and that they prepare their kids for child development.

"You failed. And while I want to remind you with every passing time, I have a friend to tend to. So, fucking get out of here, and I swear to the goddess if you do something stupid, you won't have to worry about Jiminie banishing you.

"I will kill you myself. That is not a threat, Luna. That is a promise," Lee Tang said angrily before he rushed after So Hee and Doctor Jung Hwa, leaving behind a shocked Luna and warriors who weren't sure what the fuck would happen this time.

Jiminie was still unconscious when Doctor Jung Hwa laid him on the surgical table. She knew that this was going to hurt a lot, but thankfully the nurses there were ready for the alpha. They were shocked at the reality of their alpha having a womb, but they didn't ask.

So Hee was staring at them, daring them to say a word that would tarnish the alpha's reputation. If she was being honest So Hee would have wished to take Jiminie back to Helia and treat him there but then that would raise so many questions.

Besides, there was a chance that Jiminie would not like it in Helia when Agust wasn't there. Oh, but So Hee felt like her brains were about to explode. She wanted to find her best friend and give him a piece of her mind, and she would, hopefully.

"Is everything set for the operation? Do you need me to do anything? Want anything for Jiminie?" Lee Tang asked, the tears falling down his face for the first time since he saw his best friend. He was heartbroken and had been trying to wipe them away for a while.

However, seeing Jiminie here, like this, made Lee Tang swear to protect his best friend. The desire to find Agust was so intense because there was just no way a man who had been obsessing about Jiminie could suddenly change just like that.

It made no sense whatsoever and nothing would ever justify it.

This was cruelty of the highest order and unforgivable in Lee Tang's books.

If Jiminie didn't go after Agust when he was healed and better, Lee Tang would find the mad king and he would fight the man or give him a piece of mind, even though there was a chance that the man would kill him first and ask questions later.

Well, for Jiminie, all rationality willingly left Lee Tang and it wasn't something that the man could argue about.

"Don't worry. You need to go clean up. Jiminie will need to see everything clean when he wakes up. There is a lot we need to talk to him about and if he sees his blood on you and everyone else or even on the steps, he will be reminded of the chaos, and that is something we can't afford.

"…Not when he is in the most delicate states. As for you, So Hee, please stay on the side. We might need you for this operation, seeing as the baby was part werewolf and part Lycan. You may know a few things that could help us patch Jiminie up," Doctor Jung Hwa said.

Leet Tang's heart broke at the doctor's last statement. His dear best friend, a man who never hurt anyone intentionally. A man who had always advocated for peace and one who wanted harmony in every life has now reduced to being patched up.

His Jiminie had been so kind and good and yet they had forced him to be the mess that he was at the moment. What the fuck was he even to say to that? Oh, Lee Tang was losing his mind so badly that he wanted to break things.

However, he had to listen to the doctor. He had to be ready for Jiminie when he woke up. So, the beta left, and closed the door behind him, only for him to slide down the locked door and cry heartily.

This was not fair in any way, and no matter what excuse Agust could have had, Lee Tang didn't find any reason that would warrant the man going from happy to see Jiminie, to leaving... Fucking leaving Jiminie at the mercy of everyone.

"I'm so sorry, Jiminie," Lee Tang cried as he hugged and sank his head between his folded knees. He was useless to Jiminie and that shit broke him.

"I'm not leaving until they say you're awake," Lee Tang said to no one in particular as he sank his head between his folded knees in defeat.

This was cruel in every way, but perhaps there was hope for Jiminie, right?
