Monday. Unknown.
CANDI SWUNG WITH THE axe. It was cumbersome and nowhere as easy as they made it look in horror movies, but she put all her strength behind it. The end of the weapon hit the man that had surprised them in the side. He jolted sideways.
Wesley swung his fist, clocking the other guy in the temple. The man dropped his weapon and Wesley snatched it up, glancing behind them.
"Come on," he snapped.
There was some yelling behind them. Her heart shuddered.
"Q?" she whispered.
Wesley grabbed her arm and pulled her out into the night. The door guard had surprised them. According to her brother, only one man had been out here. Which meant another had joined him at some point.
"In the truck. Get in the truck now," Wesley ordered.
"But-Q?"
She tried to dig her heels in. She really did. But Wesley was far too strong. He clearly didn't care one lick about Quentin, only about getting her out of here.
And just what was her brother doing with Metis to begin with?
