As they continued walking, Aranea felt that the further they got walked, every step she took became heavier. She didn't know why, but she started feeling uncomfortable, already grabbing Beau's hand to stop him in his tracks.
"Beau..." she said his name, worry already etched in her voice. "Are you alright?"
Beau turned to look at her. With a serious expression still on his face, he let out a sigh and showed a forced smile, wanting to tell Aranea that he is okay, but he knew that he couldn't lie to his Summoner.
Even in Metanoia.
"I'm sorry," Beau apologized, letting out a sigh. "It's just that my father... he is too much to bear."
"I heard," Aranea replied. "Even out of Metanoia, you told me. He is a big shot and that you are to be the one inheriting the role once you are ready. He pressures you. Yet you act rebellious towards him and then when all things were hopeless, you know follow him like a robot."
