To the rescue

"Looks like the two lovers have finally reached the top!" A voice cried out. 

"The halo just dropped, but you wouldn't know from up here," Shimon stated. 

Balls of light manifested before our eyes, glass spheres that floated in midair displaying the wreckage of the first halo that fell to the earth crushing Matthews home inside the veil, a huge crater had made its impact. 

"Oh no…" I stated. 

"The staircase has already crumbled." Alice laughed. 

"You mean they are stuck down there?" I shouted. 

"The next halo will drop them with it actually." Alice cackled. 

"How dare you!" Chara argued. 

Coming out from the shadows, Alex; his angel hailed above his shoulders. Shimon's crooked smile from him caught me off guard, like a wild animal I could do nothing human in his once soft eyes now hardened beyond recognition. 

"Alex…" I whispered. 

"Master Alex!" Chara yelled.
