Surprise

  While on the way to the pack hospital, all I could do was think. Will Lucas be happy if I am pregnant? What will everyone else think? Will I be a good mother to this pup? Will they be in any danger? The last one is the one that I am really stuck on. I know that with Midnight and I being the Midnight Queen there is always a chance that there could be someone else that will come after me. And if this pup has powers, they will be sought after as well. I was so lost in thought that I did not even realize I had already made it to the parking lot of the hospital.

  Taking a deep breath, I proceeded to walk up to the entrance and pushed open the door. As soon as I walked into the waiting room, there was a nurse behind the reception desk who saw me.

  "Hello, my name is Sasha. You must be Luna Natalie. If you follow me, we already have the VIP room ready for you." Sasha said while standing up and making her way around the reception desk. "When you get into the room go ahead and change into the gown, you can leave your underwear on, and then sit on the bed. Dr. Laws will be with you in about 10 minutes."

  "Thank you, Sasha. Can we try to keep it from Alpha Lucas that I am here? I want to surprise him if the results are what I think they will be." I asked her.

  "Of course! I shall keep my lips closed, and I will tell Dr. Laws the same as well before she comes to see you." Sasha said excitedly as she stopped walking. "Here is the VIP room that we have set up for you."

  "Thanks again Sasha." I thanked her again with a small wave as I headed into the hospital room.

  By the time I got done getting the gown on and getting situated on the hospital bed, there was a knock at the door.

  "Come in." I called out loud enough for the person to hear.

  "Hello, I am Dr. Laws. Now, Becca mind-linked as just said that you needed to be seen. Can you tell me what is going on?" Dr. Laws asks.

  "Well, I was feeling nauseous earlier. I got to wondering what was going on, along with Becca, who was mind-linking a Dr. to come to the pack house. Then Midnight, my wolf, told me that she knew what was wrong. So, long story short, I am here because my wolf thinks that we are pregnant, and I just need it either confirmed or denied." I informed Dr. Laws a little embarrassed.

  "No, need to feel embarrassed. So, if I understand correctly, you were nauseous and were already going to have a Dr. come to the pack house to see what was causing it. Then before the Dr. could get there, your wolf told you that you were pregnant and decided to come here and get it confirmed?" Asks the Dr. looking at me for confirmation. At the nod of my head, she continued. "Okay, here is what we are going to do. I am going to get your vitals, and then I will also need to get a blood and urine sample. The blood sample will be sent to the lab to see where your HCG levels are, while we use the urine sample for the rapid pregnancy test, we have here at the hospital. So, here is the cup for the urine sample. Please use the bathroom, through the door on the right, and we will get the pregnancy test going. Once that is done, I will proceed to get your vitals and blood sample. When I have those and send the blood sample to the lab, we will be able to see if the pregnancy test reads either positive or negative. If it reads positive, I will order an ultrasound to be done today."

  "Okay, that sounds like a plan." I told Dr. Laws as I grabbed the cup for the urine sample and walked to the bathroom. After a couple of minutes, I was done, so I washed my hands and came back out.

  Dr. Laws took the urine sample cup over to the counter in the hospital room and got the pregnancy test going. While it was doing what it needed to do, she proceeded to get my vitals and get a blood sample for the lab. This whole process lasted a good five minutes, although to me it seemed like five years.

  "So, are we ready to see what the test has to say?" Dr. Laws asks while walking over to where the test is sitting on the counter.

  "I am ready but nervous." I told her honestly.

  "Well, I can tell you right now that you need to make sure you are not overly stressed…seeing as how the test is showing a very strong positive. So let me go get the ultrasound equipment, and then I will be right back in so we can see how the future Alpha is doing." Dr. Laws said excitedly.

  With that she leaves the room in a hurry, while leaving me with my thoughts. So, I really am pregnant. I guess I should go ahead and mind-link Becca to see if she would be willing to meet me at the store.

  Me: Becca, is there any way you could meet me at the store? I am finishing up at the hospital. Just have to do a couple more things and I will be out of here.

  Becca: Yeah, I will meet you at the store. About how long do you think it will take?

  Me: Probably another 20 minutes or so.

  Becca: Okay girl, did you need me to mind-link anyone else for you?

  Me: No! Sorry, no, do not mind-link anyone else.

  Becca: Um, okay. Wait, what store are we meeting at?

  Me: The one where you can buy shirts and have stuff printed on them.

  Becca: Okay, I will see you there.

  "All right Luna, go ahead and lie back on the bed, put the sheet on your lap under your belly, and lift your gown above your belly." Dr. Laws said after opening the door and carting in the ultrasound equipment behind her.

  "Okay." I said while getting on the bed. I made sure that the sheet was under my belly button and pulled my gown up to where it was under my breasts.

  Once I was ready and the machine was on, Dr. Laws had to enter some information on the screen and then she put the cold gel on my lower abdomen. After a minute or two, she turned the machine to where I could see the screen as well as her. I have no clue what I am looking at and it seems that Dr. Laws can see this as well.

  "Alright, well, I can tell you that you are only about a month into this pregnancy. However, we are going to need to see you here every two weeks, and then the further along you get I want to see you every week. The reason why I am telling you this is because this pregnancy is going to be a little more high risk than a normal one." She stated.

  "What do you mean, high risk?" I asked her.

  "What I mean by that is, Luna, you are pregnant with multiples."

  "So, you mean two pups are in there?"

  "No, Luna, you are pregnant with triplets." She said with a smile. "I am going to print out ultrasound photos, one of each pup, and then write a prescription for prenatal and some anti-nausea medicine just in case it gets to be too much. After that you will be able to get dressed, just make sure when you go to leave, you make sure to make an appointment to get another prenatal checkup in two weeks." Dr. Laws said as she was printing out the ultrasound photos.

  I just sit here silent. I do not know what to say to this, and I am trying not to freak out. Hopefully Lucas will be happy that we are having pups. Wow…pups, not pup.

  Midnight: Are you going to be okay Natalie?

  Me: Yeah, just need to come to terms with the term triplets and pups. I thought it would have just been one.

  Midnight: I know what you mean, however, we got this. Plus, you know that Lucas will be ecstatic. Now, pull up your big girl panties, and let's set up another appointment and get to the store to meet Becca.

  Five minutes later I am dressed and at the reception desk scheduling my next prenatal appointment. Once that is completed, I am finally on my way to the store to meet Becca. I know she is going to be over the moon to help me get this surprise in order. I am also wondering if I should go ahead and mind-link the guys but think better of it. They can wait until I get back to the pack house.
