Arthur replied, "Isn't it obvious? The enemy is challenging us."

Rune and Vladis fell into deep contemplation. The silence permeated in the corridor as no one said a word afterward.

They heard the sound of soft footsteps, and soon Resel came into view. She bowed a little to greet the Lord formally.

"Greeting to Lord Arthur"

Arthur nodded curtly in response. She stood up and looked towards Rune. "The Royal Physician came out and is asking about you. There is something he wants to tell you" As soon as he heard that the Royal physician was asking about him, Rune quickly dashed towards Camy's room. Vladis followed after Rune.

Now only Lord and Resel were left there.

Resel felt pressurized from his aura. It was bearable earlier since there was Rune and Vladis, but now, she felt like dying.

"How do you know about Vampires? You do know that knowledge about them is prohibited to locals. Anyone indulging in them is to be executed the instant they are found guilty. So….." Arthur didn't finish his sentence purposefully. He wanted to see whether she was lying or not.

Arthur's iris turned blue as he used his powers to probe in her.

As predicted, Resel's knees turned to jelly under pressure, and she hit the ground. With tears smeared on her face, which she was wiping desperately, she answered. "No …I know that the knowledge is prohibited, but you Lord, you need to believe me that it isn't my fault. I don't remember how I possess knowledge about vampires. I know it sounds ridiculous, but I seriously don't remember anything. I only feel dread and fear whenever I remember it. There is fear inside me, deep-rooted, but I don't know the cause." She spilled everything like a broken doll.

Arthur didn't pity her. He was in no position to do so.

"If you say so," Arthur left after his short reply.

Resel knew that the Lord didn't believe her, but what else could she do when this was the truth. The bitter reality of her life. She used the wall as a support to stand up and weakly dragged her body to the way where everyone was present.

Outside Camy's room.

A skinny man wearing round spectacles and a white gown was reading some papers when he was disturbed by Rune. He was the Royal Physician, Lynhart, also known as Lyn.

"How is my little sister? Did she awake? Is she out of danger? How is she?" Rune bombarded him with question after question.

The skinny man took out of his white gown and put the papers in his hands down. As he faced Rune, his expressions which were dull, to begin with, turned dark. The man's skin was pale white. It could be said that it was because of lack of sunlight since he was a nerd who loved nothing but experimentation, so he rarely went out. If not for his breathing, anyone would identify him as a corpse. However, his appearance was deceptive. He was a skilled physician that Lord Arthur personally picked.

He gravely replied, "She is doing good and is out of danger. Worry not. However, she is in a state of coma."

Bam!

Rune's hands which were on his side, clenched in a fist. "What do you mean, Lyn?"

Lyn knew it was hard, but this was to it. "I checked every test I could on her and found out that she is healthy. There is no sign of internal or external injury on her except on her hands. That bite looks like a monster's bite. I have sterilized her wounds and tended to them. Everything seems normal, but I don't know why she fell into a coma. From her situation, there could only be two reasons that she isn't waking up. Either she is too afraid and is shocked to her core with what happened with her, which I heavily doubt, or else, she is fighting in her coma."

"Fighting? Why? You said everything is normal, then what is she fighting?" Rune asked.

Lyn just shook his head. "I don't know, and I can't tell unless you don't tell me everything. You still haven't told me what animal she was bitten by, so don't expect any good news from me," He replied without any emotions.

"She was bitten by a vampire," Vladis commented.

Lyn's expression changed. "Did I hear something, or did you seriously say, Vampire?" Like others, he too found it hard to believe.

"It's what Vladis said, Lyn," Arthur said.

Lyn was now sure that he heard correctly. His Lord would never lie to him. His expression turned grim with each passing second. "It seems like she is fighting against the poison."

"Poison?"

"Yea. The poison is turning her from a human to a vampire. Camy is resisting the change, and that is why her body is in a coma. She is using her body to fight the poison. I don't know how far she can manage. She is in a grave problem."

Rune didn't know how to digest this new information as for Vladis; he just remained quiet.

"Lyn, seal every piece of information about Camy. Not a single soul should know about it other than us. Okay"

"Yes, Lord"

"And she isn't your lab subject, so you better take good care of her, or else I will drag you in sunlight and rip your flesh," Vladis added on.

He knew how perverted and twister Lyn was when it came to medical science. He was not in favor of leaving Camy in his care, but the fact that he was a genius when it came to medical science was irrefutable. If anyone was there in the entire Reinstal that can help Camy, then it was him.
