Bickering

In the carriage, Camy finally broke the silence by asking with a polite smile, "Vladis, where are we going?"

Vladis slightly smiled and said, "Don't worry. I am not taking you to do something dangerous."

Camy chuckled and tucked a strand of hair behind her ear and said, "I know". She still wanted to know about the whereabouts. Though she is with safe people, practicing martial arts had taught her to still stay guarded.

Valdis, being a commander, understood that precaution is always better than cure. He was surprised and more impressed with Camy but still didn't show it on his face.

Cecil was surprised and delighted to see that Camy and Vladis are getting along really well. She was enjoying someone's company other than spells, martial arts, and family. She didn't want to be a killjoy, so she looked out of the window to enjoy the view.

"Actually, there is a small fair going on the outskirts of the empire. It's not a big one like the Spring Festival but still, the locals prepared this fare in order to celebrate the arrival of Spring. Seeing that you both enjoyed the fair last time I thought to take you there". He answered Camy's patiently while looking towards both Camy and Cecil.

Camy and Cecil both felt touched. Camy actually felt warm inside her heart that he was actually giving efforts. Cecil's excitement could be shown on her face. With twinkling eyes, she asked, "Would there be delicious food?".

Vladis and Camy both laughed heartily seeing the excitement and love on Cecil's face for food. Camy was happy that she was excited about this little trip and Vladis thought she was cute just like a little sister.

"Yes. There would be some local delicacies which you would love", Vladis answered while laughing.

He then asked with curiosity, "You like spicy food or have a sweet tooth?"

"Sweet tooth is not in the race. Fire is what I always want.", she answered with excitement.

"Me too"

And then they both gave a high five as if they have known each other for a long time and laughed about it.

There was also someone who wasn't seeing everything quietly and had all the reactions easily detectable on his face, but he didn't want to bother himself to chime in the conversation. He was actually interested and curious about Cecil when they talked about the spicy food, but he was jealous to find out about her interest was not him but Vladis. He actually didn't like Vladis's frankness with Cecil. When Vladis and Camy were talking he was actually getting bored with them, but the sudden change of the girl and the atmosphere irritated him.

Arthur actually used a spell to make Vladis feel a hot fire in his chest as if he was burning inside. When Vladis felt that, he immediately realized that Arthur was deliberately doing this because he was talking to Cecil. But he thought, would this torture continue in the future as well when he would get together with Camy?

He looked at Arthur with pleading eyes and shushed his lips. When Arthur was satisfied, he released him.

Cecil then suddenly spoke with irritation and mock in her voice, "Where do you want us to drop you?"

She wasn't actually irritated because he was coming with them but that his presence was somehow affecting her. Since this was the first time a guy's presence was bothering her that she couldn't think straight.

Arthur just smiled and answered, "Actually, I thought of first going to serve my country but now seeing that you guys are going to a fare to have some delicious delicacies, I am also feeling hungry, so I am thinking to accompany you all. I hope you don't mind. Right, Knight Vladis?"

If Vladis said Yes, he would be irritating Cecil and might upset Camy also but If he said no then he would suffer torture till death or might even lose his life. If he wasn't going to live, then what would he do of his thoughtfulness towards the twin sisters?

He answered awkwardly, "Of course, Why not?"

Cecil was about to retort but Camy held her hand and gestured to her to stop it. Camy also smiled politely and said, "Sure".

Cecil puffed her cheeks angrily and just looked outside through the whole journey.

Arthur really loved this feisty Cecil. It reminds him of Cecil from childhood. He thought that today is going to be a fun day.
