A Witch's Accidental Love

Synopsis: When has listening to her best friend ever been the wise decision? Luna Ravenwood knew better, or at least, she thought she did. While trying to win over the guy she had a crush on for years, Luna listens to her best friend and decides to use magic to win over Adam Fisk' heart. What could go wrong? Excerpt: "Really? Sweets? You're taking this 'food is the way to a man's heart' a little too seriously." Kwon sneered. He went to grab a cookie from the pile but Luna moved the plate away from him. He raised an eyebrow, probably thinking that she was acting childish. Reaching with his left hand, he made a move toward the plate. What she didn't see was that his right hand was in position with the plate moving right towards it. "Better luck next time." He smiled as he took a bite of the heart-shaped cookie. Adam came back and grabbed another cookie. As he ate, he looked around. "No water?" An idea hit Luna. She fished in her bag for the spare love potion that she had stored in a water bottle. It was completely full and the lid was tightened enough that it could pass as a brand new, unused bottle that she just got out of the machine. "Here you go. I just happened to have an extra." He gratefully accepted the water then he and Kwon walked off toward the coach. Luna slammed the plate into the arms of a confused Carl. It worked. The plan actually worked. She was so excited that she could start dancing at any moment. "Don't celebrate just yet." Isaac pointed to where Adam and Kwon stood talking to the coach. Kwon unscrewed the lid to his water and took a drink. Fear seeped into her. She was positive that Kwon did not have a water with him earlier. She looked down at Adam's hands and saw that he no longer had the bottle filled with love potion. "No!" *This is an urban-teen-romance novel with fantasy, action, and drama thrown in.*

Luna was searching through her locker for the book she needed for the next class when a shadow fell over her. "I thought you were going to walk with Simon," Luna said, automatically assuming that the shadow belonged to Isaac.

"I thought I would walk with you, if you don't mind?" Came Kwon's casual reply.

Startled, Luna dropped the book that she had just fished out of her locker. "Kwon?" She looked up to find Mark Kwon's tall and lean form leaning against the locker beside hers. The smirk splayed on his lips slipped off.

What was he doing there? It was almost at the forty-eight hour mark since Kwon had ingested the love potion. Did that mean that she had to wait for exactly forty-eight hours for the effects of the potion to wear off? Or longer?

"What will it take for you to call me by my given name?" Kwon asked, a hurtful expression flashing through his brown eyes.

"Wh-what?" The question shocked her to her core. Why would she ever be that friendly with him? Even if she was trying to be amicable towards him since she was the reason for what happened to him, it was still too much to consider being friendly enough to call him by his name.

"At least think about it," he reasoned with her after he saw her reaction. "I know it might take time, but I would like to become closer with you and for you to possibly call me by my given name one day."

Closer? He wants to be closer?! How much closer?!

Kwon glanced over to where the clock was hanging up above the lockers on the opposite side of the hallway. "We should start heading to class if we don't want to be late."

His words shook her out of her inner panic. She didn't want to become closer to him. . .but it didn't hurt to walk with him to class since they shared the next one.

He had said that he wanted to be closer to her, but didn't he find it strange how his feelings had changed practically overnight? Even if he didn't know about magic, wouldn't this situation have come off as odd?

"Y-you said you wanted to be closer?" Luna probed, curious about what Kwon thought about his recent change in feelings towards her. Did he find it strange? Was he even of sound enough mind to question himself?

Kwon gave a small bob of his head, holding the classroom door open for her with one hand, his books in his other hand. "I thought it was about time I got my act together and made amends. I know it might be hard for you, but I wouldn't mind if we could put the past behind us and become friends. I really would like for things to change between us."

Luna slid into her seat, mauling over his words. The love potion was supposed to make the target fall madly in love with the brewer, but Kwon just wanted to be friends? Did that mean that he hated her so much that the most a love potion could do was to make him feel a little more amicable towards her?

What would happen once the love potion would no longer be in effect? Would he go back to the way he was before? Or worse?

She wasn't sure if she could handle a more hostile Kwon.

Even though giving Kwon the love potion had been a complete accident and his friendly feelings were unwanted, she actually didn't mind this version of Kwon, especially since he wasn't dousing her in beer. Should she give him another dose so that way he wouldn't become suspicious or decide to turn her life into a living hell once he was back to normal?

Luna shook her head, immediately dismissing the idea. It wouldn't be right of her to do that. And honestly, she should have never made the love potion in the first place.

Mr. Traskey walked in, immediately calling all of the attention to him with his entrance. His midnight blue eyes roamed over the students in the classroom, coming to a shaky stop upon seeing Mark Kwon sitting beside Luna. His eyes then shifted to Luna and the corners of his lips tugged down just a fraction.

Luna didn't find the situation odd. She actually felt bad for her teacher since he was probably trying to work out the conundrum that he had walked in on. It wasn't everyday that one found two people who were notorious for hating each other suddenly getting along.

Luna found Isaac and Simon already sitting at their usual table by the time lunch rolled around. She didn't bother with going to the lunch line since her aunt had made her some pesto-roasted veggie sandwiches that morning.

"Isaac told me about the study session you're having at your house tonight. I'll be there." Simon's voice sounded lethargic and from what little she could see of his face, there were dark circles under his eyes.

"Are you feeling alright?" Luna asked, concerned that something may have happened during that family thing Simon was forced into the night before.

"Yeah. Didn't get much sleep."

A frown tugged Isaac's lips down. "Are you up for our date tomorrow?" Today marked the end of the school week and Luna had forgotten that Simon had asked Isaac out on a date this weekend.

A small smile tugged at Simon's lips, reaching all the way up to his eyes. Or at least it seemed that way from the sound of his voice. The bangs falling down into his eyes made it hard for anyone to see most of Simon's face. "I wouldn't cancel on it now and you're not getting out of it."

"What do you plan on doing. . .or is it a surprise?" Luna was genuinely curious since she had never been on a date herself. Maybe Simon could give her some good ideas for whenever she might actually get to experience a dating life.
