Dumbstruck

Adriana who fell in unconscious didn't know the mess she left behind after her collapse. Jessy seeing that the servants in the Duke's mansion not budging even after multiple requests mixed with threats, she asked the butler to let her see the Duke and request him to call for a healer from the temple after all everything in the mansion needed his permission, leaving no dignity for her mistress.

Just like how the Duke's people hated the Duchess, the sisters including their mother Emma who was their mistress's nanny loathed the Duke for being an infidel jerk.

While Jessy was creating a ruckus in the mansion, Clara successfully connected with the tower's master her mistress's friend and let her know Adriana's condition and the urgency of the situation.

No sooner had she mentioned the matter, Elaine completely ignored the matters of the tower and the fact that she was illegally trespassing the Duke's territory without prior permission and directly entered Adriana's room through a teleportation portal.

The moment Elaine saw Adriana's pale face and her dwindling life suddenly moved closer to her and examined her body only to click ger tongue, " Ahh dear Addy what have you gotten yourself into, you messed with something you shouldn't have."

The only person in the room other than Adriana and Elaine was the forgotten Doctor Edward. He didn't know who the strange woman in the room was but seeing her familiarity with the Duchess and hearing her words he couldn't help but interject, " Umm Lady, I'm the Duchess's doctor for now, what do think is wrong with the Duchess, no matter what method I used I cannot find anything wrong with her body. Ahh!! is the problem with her soul force? Even her mana circle is perfectly intact without any problems.... "

Elaine looked at the young man with interest and teasing eyes, " Ohh my, how could I ignore such a handsome man, hmm you must be the famous Doctor Edward, with how young and handsome you look there's no way you'll be someone else after all, all others I've seen are all old and ugly guys. Hmm after seeing too many old and boring men you are a sight for sore eyes."

Hearing Elaine's remarks the young doctor blushed with embarrassment. He was tongue tied and knew not what to say.

Seeing how her usual behaviour had caused a man much younger than her blush with shame made Elaine feel like she's become a wolf teasing a sheep before devouring it whole. Feeling her thoughts stray she slapped herself and brought herself to her senses and immediately asked the doctor to call for Claire and Jessy and have them bring the young Annalise to her mother's room and drove him out if the room before closing it on his face.

Edward on seeing the door close on his face was dumbstruck. He thought to himself 'What just happened? And who's that crazy woman. No- there's no time to delay, it seems I have to find those two sisters and the young lady. Uhh where should I go?'

Edward came to the Duke's mansion for the first time and was panicking. He had already wasted enough time speaking with a crazy woman and now the time left for the Duchess might have decreased even further and now he doesn't know of he can find those who he have to find on time. Seeing a maid pass by he tried to ask her for help only to be avoided like a plague when they realised he came from the Duchess's room.
