Disgusted

Edward couldn't help but feel helpless seeing the servants attitude towards the Duchess. He tried asking for help while moving in the direction he saw Jessy running off to, only to be met with rejection. He couldn't help but feel frustrated as more time was spent than he initially thought and yet he couldn't find Clara or Jessy, not did he find out where the young lady of the Duke's house was in.

As more time passed he became anxious, the more anxious he became he started running around like crazy calling out Clara and Jessy's name, only to bump into Claire who was a crying mess of snot and tears.

Clara was already feeling miserable thinking of how others treated her mistress and declined to help and even said that she deserved it. ' These backstabbing crooks how dare they bite the hand that feed them. After everything her mistress had done for the Duke's fiefdom, they turned their back on them because of their horrendous master. Hmmph, once my mistress leaves this dastardly mansion, see whether you'll beg her to come back.'

While contemplating such matters and crying her eyes out she saw the doctor who was attending her mistress running about anxiously. Seeing that all reason broke down and Clara started bawling her eyes out.

Seeing Clara breakdown on seeing him, he knew that his demeanor right now must have caused some misunderstanding. Edward tried to sound as calm as possible and let her know what the strange woman who suddenly appeared in the Duchess's room mentioned.

Hearing that Clara calmed down immediately and muttered under her breath, ' Since Miss Elaine is here my mistress will be alright.' Immediately cheering herself, she telepathically communicated with Jessy asking her to go her mistress's room urgently and immediately ran out in the direction of the young Annalise's room.

The doctor immediately followed the young maid for fear that he may loose his way in this maze of a mansion. He saw the maid entering a room at the far end of the corner of the mansion. Edward felt strange, the Duchess's room is at the corner of the mansion but atleast it was in a much better position but to think even the legitimate child of the Duke was treated this way, he felt disgusted with the man's behaviour.

Hearing of the Duke's exemplary service in the battlefield and the stories of how he brought the dwindling and impoverished area under his fiefdom to prosperity and the praise of the people under him, Edward thought he was good person to be under. He had just come to the mansion to enquire about the matter of settling in this fiefdom when he heard a maid pleading her superior to call for a doctor for her mistress.

The moment he heard her, he didn't think any further and answered the maid to lead the way. He didn't think of the consequence of his actions or words but simply followed his master's words, "For a doctor, the patient comes first before anything else. Other things can be handled later. "

Edward came back to his senses when he heard the sound of a child crying till she couldn't breathe. He immediately ran towards the sound and saw a child about 2 or even younger with soft silver hair that shined under the light of the sun. She was so small that he doubted if the child was truly 3 years old.
