A Thousand Worlds

A not so average life ends, and a second one begins. A chance to redeem? Nahhhhhh, a chance to live out dreams would be a more apt description! But as with all, a simple man living out his dreams isn't quite the best of the best, nor the most of entertaining. A chat group (a certainly peculiar one) has been thrown into the mix as well. ==== Find extra chapters at: p@treon.com/stoned_face

If That Is What You Desire

Tokyo, Japan,

Aichi Academy,

Samuel POV,

Samuel currently sat across Yukino with his head resting on one of his hands, a strange look on his face. They were currently in the headmaster's office and Samuel was waiting for the 'proposition' she had for him. Naturally he had gathered quite a bit of attention on the way here and while someone would have even tried to 'reform' him, seeing the headmistress with him made them stay away.

"How would you feel about attending here?" Yukino asked, slightly leaning on her desk, having him here would let her keep an eye on the teenager and also test the integrity of her system.

"Absolutely not." Samuel replied instantaneously, he didn't want to spend his school days being hogged by girls that wanted to beat the shit out of him and guys that acted and dressed like girls.

"I see." Yukino nodded, not surprised in the slightest with his refusal, it was natural that someone like him would never come to a place such as this. "Then." Her face which was empty up until morphed into a small smile as she leaned on her table, "You have no background so far as education is concerned, typically you would need some form of recommendation or background to get into any orthodox schools." she stated once more returning to her blank face, she would get what she wanted from him regardless.

"That's true." Samuel nodded rubbing his chin in thought, he would have to ask Ren for some help in that regard. "That is precisely where I come in, fulfil my task and you can have a recommendation from our school. It should serve as enough for anywhere, even internationally." Yukino explained with a straight face, not the slightest bit bothered about whether that would even be legal or not.

"You sure you can even...do that?" Samuel said in disbelief, just what was this task she wanted to give him? On top of that, was it even possible? Sure it would be very useful and advantageous for him but something like this was unheard of.

"I am the headmistress, that much is no big deal. As you might know, this place isn't quite 'normal'." She reminded him, not surprised by his disbelief, something like this would normally be outrageous but it was for a purpose students couldn't understand, it would allow her to both test and improve their reformation and moral upholding systems. For a school as abnormal as this and for a woman as strange as Yukino Fujibayashi, this was no problem.

"What do you even want me to do?" Samuel asked thoughtfully, her words did make sense. This place was never normal in the first place so trying to make sense of it anymore than it already did would just give him a headache. "Simple." Yukino pulled open a drawer taking out a white card with a black strip on it and placed it on the table. It had a circle on the right side with five smaller circles in the shape of a pentagon.

Samuel picked it up, inspecting it curiously and then looked at Yukino for answers, "Each of the Tenka Goken carry seals on them, get that card fully signed, that is all I require from you.", she said plainly folding her arms, it wasn't quite the easy task. Each of the Tenka Goken or Supreme Five Swords were masters of different types of swordsmanship and beating them was impossible for a normal man. Yukino had given him a very difficult if not impossible task and one worthy of the academy's reputation.

"That's all?" Samuel tilted his head in confusion, it was fairly easy to surmise that they were some sort of group but was that really it?

"That is all. Take as long as you like, I'll arrange a room in the dorms personally." Yukino confirmed again, this was quite a smart move on her part and Samuel saw through it nearly instantly. In a way, should he agree she would be able to confine a potentially dangerous individual here and be able to observe said individual at any given time if he wasn't able to get the seals of approval from the Tenka Goken and on the other hand, if he did somehow managed to obtain them, most likely through violence, she would be able to improve the system as a whole and remake it in a way that would allow for it to tackle far more tougher obstacles.

That is to say this wasn't an opportunity that anyone could obtain, if Samuel wasn't well known for his deeds then she would never have made such an offer even if it was well within her power to do so. "Is violence an option?" Samuel asked with an innocent smile, he could force them to sign his card and be done with this fairly quickly.

"... Violence is always an option but you'll find making those five submit to be a very hard task." Yukino answered his query with the corners of her lips slightly upturned, he had fallen for it already. "You probably have a misunderstanding but I won't bother. You got it, I'll perform this task of yours." Samuel replied with a glint in his 'empty' eyes, this was exciting. Martial Arts was something he greatly loved and to go up against masters was a dream of every single person like him, if he could get a recommendation for free alongside that then who was he to say no?

"I look forward to your progress." Yukino held out her hand, barely having held herself back from saying 'King' at the end of her sentence. Samuel took it and shook firmly, "Of course.", he too was looking forward to what he could do here. "Anything else you might want?" Yukino asked with a pensive look on her face, she did give him quite a difficult task. To not compensate would be somewhat damaging to her own pride.

"How bout a date?" Samuel replied with a straight face, not the slightest bit embarrassed by his own actions, older women were better anyway and even though this body looked like a teenager's, he himself wasn't one. Being attracted to teenagers was a very tall order.

"...If that is what you desire..." Yukino looked to the side, not wanting to face him at the moment, she was a serious woman who rarely had a change in expression and something as outrageous as this being asked seriously ...... made a small blush spread across her face.

Samuel walked out of the office with a small smile on his face, he needed to head home and inform his family about this sudden occurrence. Only later would he learn that what he had just accepted wasn't quite as simple as he had thought, from real katanas to being shot at to being mauled by an actual bear. The next few weeks of his life would surely be hectic.
