Her mother-in-law

You would not say she did not trust his brother because she trusted his brother more than she trusted him but she wanted them to fool everyone around them to leave no stone unturned.

So many people had a lot to say about the picture but as she scrolled down the comment, she was amazed by the percentage of positive comments got.

She sipped from the cup of juice her sister made for her and smiled at her sister who was scrolling through her phone. Her sister felt someone's gaze on her and met her gaze.

"Why are you smiling? Are you so happy that they are all interested?"

She nodded as her smile broadened. "I love the juice too."

"The juice is not what is making you smile so much. Don't fall too much in love, okay?"

Lin Jing paused and her smile slowly disappeared. Love? No, the results are what made her happy.

It was what she expected but she was still pleased with the outcome. More people got interested in her after the incident and when it was clear that she was not selling her body, their interest died down.

This was her first post since the incident.

"The picture came out nice," she saw her sister's comment on the screen and smiled before replying to her comment with a love emoji.

Ruoruo saw her reply and smiled. "They all believe it is a real relationship."

"Not all of them believe that," Lin Jing replied sincerely. One-fifth of them did not believe her as half of them believe it was one of the clients, they claim she has. Those that believed started a battle with them about giving such hateful comments.

She saw their comments but they were less than the comments she got when the rumors began. It was funny to hear how most of the people who had called her a whore were all expressing their desire to see the face of the man she was with, humans are just so easily swayed.

"Are you going to show them your face?" her sister asked her.

"Yes, I am. Isn't that what they want?"

she has been busy trying to recover fully both mentally and physically and her friend and boss was her therapist. She was gotten the cast off and since she had always been in good shape, her recovery was faster than average.

Her determination to return to work was her greatest motivation and that kept her going every day.

"Are you nervous?" Shen Yan asked his beautiful fiancée as he opened the door for her.

She smiled and shook her head. "I am," she replied him sincerely. Well, who would not be? She might have met his mother before but then they did not meet as in-laws.

"You do not need to be nervous. My mother is a very nice person, she likes you," he told her when he sat down beside her on the driver's seat.

"I know she is nice but now that she wants me to be her daughter-in-law, won't observe me more than ever before?"

"You passed her test so I see no reason why she will put you through another test. It is harder before she chooses you but once you are her chosen daughter-in-law she will not let you go.

"And she will not interfere in our relationship as far as I show that I like you," he encouraged her as best as he could. He has never tried to encourage a woman like this and he was not sure if he was doing well but he wanted everything to go well so he did not hesitate to try his best.

She smiled and sighed. "Don't just leave me alone," she told him seriously as she could not imagine being left alone with his eagle-eyed mum. It would take her only a few minutes to notice something was off.

"I won't and even if I do, you need to be confident when talking to her or she will think you do not like her," he advised her seriously. "Don't forget to act very natural as you have always been with her."

She nodded taking everything he was saying seriously.

The dinner was better than she expected. His mother was very nice, as always, and did not make her uncomfortable at all. She got along well with the woman who was very nice to her.

She spoke to his father too. his father wanted them to do an official engagement party. She was sure if that was necessary and she tried to persuade the old man.

She was not sure if she succeeded at the end of the day because he changed the topic and told them to talk about something else. He did not sound hostile to her but unwilling to argue with her.

His mother asked about the rumors she heard of her and she did not hesitate to deny it and explain what happened based on the news her son used to cover it all up.

When she was asked about her mother, she told them the truth and how much everything affected her father. She also told them whether they will believe her or not that she was never going to let another man suffer as much as her father did.

Mrs. Shen was very emotional after hearing her story and she mopped her face with paper towels before placing more side dishes into Lin Jing's bowl of rice from across the dining table.

She was satisfied with how things went and after the dinner, the woman invited her for yet another one.

She agreed immediately before the woman added that she wanted to eat alone with her and then she rethought her decision but since there was no going back, she had to smile and nod her head with a hint of enthusiasm about eating with her mother-in-law.

The woman was just as nice as she was to her the first time they met and that made everything easy as she was not sure if she would survive the fake relationship with a mother-in-law who did not like him.
