Switched sides

Tobin was staring at Elder Zeko with nothing else to say again. The atmosphere in the living was already very stuffy as he could feel it. He could tell Elder Zeko was trying very hard to control his anger. While the other Elders decided they would not risk their lives to say anything to Elder Zeko again. Instead they would just watch as Father and son take care of the issue on ground.

Tobin wanted to say another word when he noticed someone walking into the living room he raise this head to see Naomi on with Madam Tochi following closely behind her. Tobin could tell from the mood between the two of them that they were agready having a fight.

"What do you want here I cannot remember sending for you"elder Zeko asked glaring at her an unpleasant look on his face. He was already wondering what gave Naomi the courage to come into the living room. Tobin was also curious at this point. He looked at her but notice she was avoiding his gaze.

"I Greet the elders here present " Naomi said first while taking a deep bow to the elders

"I am sorry Elder Zeko but I came to exercise my right as a potential contest of the next target.

"I still cannot remember calling you to come air your view. It is a matter we are yet to settle so you should leave " Elder Zeko replied her waving his hand as a way of dismissing her but Naomi wasnt ready to be intimidated. She was not going to allow this opportunity to carry the name of the family pass her by. She needed this chance to make her in-laws like her.

"I am sorry Elder, but since I am here I will just say what I came for befor going..

" I will like to take part in the contest" She announced as she looked at all of them to see their reaction.

Elder Zeko who had wanted her from saying anything suddenly became happy with her announcement. A wicked smile played across his face instead of anger.

For Tobin he kept a complete stern look on his face. He had not expected her to accept the contest. He was rejecting this contest because he didn't have any powers and will not want to put her life in danger. How can she just agree to this? He questioned in his head trying hard not to show any emotion ons his face.

"I think you should have listen to mt father when he said you should step out. No one asked for your opinion on this issue " Tobin replied her first. Since he came back that was the first time he was carrying a cold look on his face and Naomi could feel it. He wasn't happy at all with her decision to come intefer.

"I think you should allow her say what is on her mind. I completely support her on this. We cannot refuse to participate in the contest. All this while you were using her as an excuse not to participate but jow she has come out herself to say she wants to engage in the contest. You no longer have to refuse " Elder Zeko said switching sides immediately.

For Naomi she was glad Elder Zeko spoke kind words about her for the first time since she came to the house. It was what she wanted and now she was achieving it even without engaging yet in the contest.

"She can say whatever she wants to say. She has never been in a contest so she will not know how it feels. I still don't think I want to participate in this " Tobin said shaking his head as he ran his hands through his hair thinking of the situation befor him.

He didn't understand why Naomi will want to engage in a contest that is deadly. Where he almost lost his life. That enough she make any woman scared of the contest but not his bethrothed. He had a good look at her but she was still avodinf his gazw making him more confused.

He also felt there was something really odd for his father to suddenly take side with Naomi easily like that. He was sure something was off but could not place his hand on what it could be.

"Elders you have heard it all. The one who my son seeks to protect has come out to say she wants to participate so therefore I dont see any other reason why he should continue to refuse unless there is something more he is not telling us. For now we will leave the both of them to have a talk and we will come back to them after a while " Elder Zeko announced in the hearing of everyone as they all rose to leave two of them
