*First Person*
*A/N: She's 25, just in case.*
I muttered as soon as I touched her forehead, which was burning. "She has such a strong fever?" I quickly went to the fridge, found some ice, and packed it to help bring down the fever.
I noticed she looked quite uncomfortable. "Should I change her clothes into something more comfortable?" I asked myself, unsure of what to do but deciding that it was the right thing for her.
"What is this growth, damn!" I was taken aback as I undressed her quickly, removing her sweaty clothes and replacing them with fresh ones. Her body had changed dramatically—her body structure, breasts, hips, height, and even her muscles were more toned.
It was as if she had remodeled her body somehow. I switched her clothes with a white fur bathrobe.
"What is that bite mark?" By chance, my eyes caught a glimpse of a small bite mark on her wrist, slightly swollen and red.
Then I waited for her to wake up or for Yukino or her mother to become available. "I should buy some snacks," I thought after a few hours passed. I was feeling hungry, and there was nothing to eat for anyone. She was sleeping like a log, so I left her alone.
"This place is quite lively," I observed as I saw a lot of crowds, even in the evening. "Now I need to find a shop." I walked for a while and reached a nearby grocery store.
"Some chips, soju, beer, tea, noodles, and instant food should do." After considering what I needed, I bought everything.
"Isshin! What are you doing here?" I heard a familiar voice from behind and turned around to see Yukino in a black, luxurious car, shouting.
I remembered she had told me she worked for a big finance loan lending firm, one of the largest in Korea. "You came at the right time, Yukino. Your sister is ill."
"What!" Yukino yelled in surprise, her face instantly showing concern for her sister's well-being. "Yeah, she's currently resting at my house. I didn't have your number, and no one was home."
"What are you doing here then? You should have called a doctor or something!" she yelled in anger, her mind racing with imagined worst-case scenarios.
"I'm here to get her some medicine. Moreover, I think we're wasting time arguing about good and bad here," I reasoned, noticing how emotional and irrational she was becoming.
"Quick, drive! And you, get in the damn car right now!" she commanded the driver. I had to listen to her for the time being since she was clearly not in a rational state. The driver, understanding the urgency, sped up. Meanwhile, Yukino stared at me, stressed and worried to the brim about her sister.
However, something strange happened—the temperature inside the car began to drop suddenly, which was quite unusual. I glanced at Yukino, who didn't seem to feel the cold, and it was then that I realized something crucial, connecting the dots about why she had been so interested in my opinion on mutants.
'Because she is one, and her…' I presumed. Yukino had the power to manipulate ice and cold. That explained why she was unaffected, unlike the driver and me. 'And her sister too, now!'
Considering the changes in Cindy's body, perhaps her mutation had played a role in this. 'It all must be natural, then. Now I need to worry about her… right?' I frowned as everything started to make sense.
"Hurry up, let's go!" Yukino urged as the car stopped next to the building, and we rushed inside to take the elevator quickly. "I know this isn't the right time or place to ask, Yukino, but are you by any chance a mutant?"
"W-What? H-how? W-why do you ask?" she stammered, clearly shocked, which confirmed my assumption.
"Well, I think your sister has those mutations… of a different kind, I guess, and it would be wise not to call a doctor just yet," I responded, pausing as we reached my door. She seemed frozen in place while I quickly opened the door.
"Cindy, are you fin—" As I was about to step inside, something fast and strong was thrown at me, which could have harmed me if it had connected. "You pervert!" Cindy yelled, and I easily dodged the object.
