"Are you sure that this is the target?" asked Pete as he composed himself and he turned to look at the officer in seriousness.
"Affirmative Sir, Buster was barking like mad, I am sure that she is the one" said the officer as he looked at Pete and he nodded his head, he did not seem to mind that the Commander seemed to know the woman in question, after all drug traffickers could be anyone.
Pete looked back at Natasha as he took a deep breath, it was very early in the morning, he was exhausted, maybe he was seeing things, because this could not possibly be Natasha, what was she even doing here in the first place.
"Commander, I believe that we should search her bags, I am sure that the drugs are in there" said the officer.
"Hey, excuse me, I don't have any drugs on me" said Natasha as she was tired of this, she was being treated like a criminal when she wasn't one at all.
"This is unfair, you cuffed me without any proof of what you are accusing me of in the first place" said Natasha as Pete looked at her, and now he knew that she really was the one, no one else sounded like her.
Pete sighed internally, but he had to agree with her, it was true that they had no tangible evidence of what they were accusing her of, after all, the sniffer dog might have gotten the wrong person, that was possible, and if that was so, then they were wasting time accusing Natasha, while the real criminal was still out there.
"Ma'am, I am sure of what I am saying, Buster is a trained sniffer dog, he won't act like this if there Is really nothing on you" said the officer.
"Commander, I am waiting for your command on what to do" said the officer as he looked at Pete and Pete looked at him, he was in a tough spot here, but he knew better than to let his personal affairs mix with his official ones.
"Search her" said Pete as Natasha sighed, she knew that she had nothing on her, so they would all be wasting their time, while the person who they are looking for was already long gone.
"Alright Commander" said the officer as he nodded and he turned to the officer who cuffed Natasha as he nodded and the officer pushed Natasha to move on.
"Hey, watch it, I am not a criminal until proven guilty" said Natasha as she glared at the man as he scoffed at her, did she really think that she had a say here.
"Easy Frank, don't be rough with her, just go to the checking room, I will be with you shortly" said Pete as he looked at the officer as he nodded.
"Yes Commander" said the officer named Frank.
"Come on Ma'am, move along" said Frank to Natasha as he held on to her and another officer carried Natasha's suitcase as the Dog stopped barking.
Natasha sighed as she walked and followed after the officer, she did not blame Pete for not standing up for her, after all, he was on duty right now, and she understood that, but she was innocent, of course she was, what did she want to do with drugs of any kind??
Pete watched Natasha as she walked away with his men and he spoke into the walkie-talkie.
"Morales, I need you to double check the information we got from the anonymous tip, and also the flight details of one Natasha White" said Pete.
"On it Sir" came Morales' reply from the other side of the line.
Pete yawned once more as he rubbed his eyes and he followed the direction that Natasha and his men had gone in, of all the things that he would have expected to see on duty today, this had to be the most unexpected.
…
Natasha was brought to a little room, it looked like it was where the airport security held suspicious people and criminals.
Frank finally let go of Natasha as the other officer brought Natasha's suitcase and he placed it on the table as Pete walked into the room and she looked at him.
"Start searching" said Pete as he wanted to get this over and done with already.
"Yes Commander" said the officer as he wore white latex gloves and he proceeded to open Natasha's suitcase as he carefully brought out everything in there one by one.
Natasha did not like the fact that all of her belongings were being displayed right here in front of everyone, it made her feel angry.
"There Is nothing in there" said Natasha as she scoffed, they were all just wasting their time.
The officer just looked at Natasha as he said nothing to her, he removed what looked like his keys from his pocket as he pressed a little button on it and a knife was revealed as the officer turned to the now empty suitcase as he started with the bottom of the suitcase as he tore it open.
"Hey, that was a gift" said Natasha as this was unfair, the sound tearing of material resounded in the empty room.
Natasha scoffed, they were literally ruining her suitcase right now, they would have to pay for it once everything was over and they did not find anything in here at all.
"You see, there is nothing in there!" said Natasha as this was injustice.
The officer did not pay any attention to Natasha at all, as there truly was nothing at the bottom of the suitcase as he had expected, but he did not give up as he turned the suitcase so that the top of the suitcase would face him as he rook his key knife and he began to tear through the top as he stopped when he held something blocking his knife's way to the other end of the yellow fabric outside.
The officer pulled out his knife as a white powdery substance came rushing out instead.
The officer dropped his knife on the table and he started to tear through the suitcase with his hands as he brought out a clear plastic filled with the white powdery substance as Natasha's eyes went wide.
"You were saying?" asked the officer with a smug look on his face as he looked at Natasha, and Natasha said nothing at all.
"Commander, there is even more in here, about 3 more bags, along with the one I accidentally tore through" said the officer as he looked at Pete.
"Is it really the stuff or not?" asked Pete.
"Let's see" said the officer as he walked to the dog and he bent down as he put the clear bag to the dog's nose as the dog started to bark crazily as he smelt the scent of the drug.
"One hundred percent boss, it is the stuff" said the officer as he looked at Pete as Pete sighed and Natasha's eyes went wide.
She knew what happened here, of course, now It all made sense, her suitcase… she was carrying drugs, all the way from Russia, she was set up, she was seriously set up, and she knew just who set her up, she could not believe it, of all the things, Romanoff set her up.
"I want it analysed to be very sure, bag it and send it to the lab" said Pete as Natasha looked at him.
"Alright Commander" said the officer as he nodded and Frank handed him a bag which he put all the drugs into.
"Boss, I have the information you asked me for here" said Morales as he walked into the room and he handed Pete a file as Pete took it and he read through the file as he sighed, she was the one that they were tipped anonymously about.
Pete closed the file as he looked up at Natasha and she could tell from the look in his eyes that what he was about to say was not going to be good at all.
"Miss Natasha White, you are under arrest under the charge of drug trafficking, having possession of hard drugs" said Pete as Natasha sighed.
"You will be escorted to our station where you will be questioned further, and write your statement" said Pete.
"You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in the court of law" said Pete.
"You have the right to an attorney, if you cannot afford an attorney, one will be appointed to you" said Pete as Natasha said nothing at all, she knew that this was a very serious crime that she was being charged for.
"Take her away" said Pete as Frank nodded his head as he urged Natasha to move forward and she did not resist him at all as she walked away, and the rest followed after her.
"Morales, follow them" said Pete as he turned to look at Morales.
"Yes Boss" said Morales as he knew the woman being charged, and he also knew how close she was to the commander, so for her to be accused of such a serious crime, he knew that the commander must have been worried, but he did not seem to show it at all.
Morales walked out of the room as Pete sighed.
"Natasha, what the heck did you get yourself into?" asked Pete as he sighed deeply, he could not prove her innocence at all.
…
Natasha sighed as Frank titled her head as she entered into the Police car, as he closed the door and entered into the driver's seat.
Natasha could not believe this was happening right now, she could not believe that she had been arrested, in all her twenty six years of life had she ever been arrested, not even for petty crimes, never had she ever, so now this was a new experience for her.
Natasha cursed Romanoff under her breath, some Uncle he was, what type of uncle planted drugs in his niece's suitcase that he got for her as a supposed gift.
"Ma'am remain silent" said Frank as he started the car and they drove away as Natasha sighed.
