A gift

"Joy where are you?" asked Natasha as she walked down the stairs.

"In here mommy" came Joy's voice from inside the dining room as the doorbell suddenly rang and Natasha walked to the front door as she opened it, to see a delivery man standing there.

"Good Afternoon" said the delivery man.

"Good Afternoon, how may I help you?" asked Natasha.

"Are you Miss. White?" asked the man as Natasha nodded.

"Yes I am" said Natasha.

"Ahh, can you please sign here, here, and here" said the man as he handed Natasha a pen and she signed where he told her to.

"I have a package for you" said the delivery man as Natasha handed him back his pen.

"From who?" asked Natasha.

"You will know when you open it, orders from above, have a lovely day" said the delivery man with a smile as he handed Natasha the small rectangular box.

"You too" said Natasha as the delivery man walked away and she closed the front door looking at the package in her hand she shook it, it did not seem like anything heavy, she couldn't guess what it was, she was suspicious, just what did Romanoff send her.

Natasha walked to the dinning room where she saw Joy happily eating her cookies.

"Mommy!!" said Joy as her voice snapped Natasha out of her thoughts.

"Hi baby, what are you doing?" asked Natasha as she looked a Joy with a smile.

"Eating cookies, mommy do you want some?" asked Joy as she smiled.

"No my darling, but thank you" said Natasha as Joy nodded.

"Who left the telephone here?" asked Natasha as she noticed the telephone on the dining table.

"Oh I did mommy, Alfred taught me how to use the telephone, so I called Ethan" said Joy as she smiled.

"That's nice my darling, what did you and Ethan talk about?" asked Natasha as she smiled and she sat down beside Joy.

"We were talking about how I can make you and…" said Joy as she coughed.

"Oh darling, don't talk with your mouth full" said Natasha as Joy nodded and she drank her milk as Natasha smiled at her.

"Mommy, what's that?" asked Joy as she noticed the package in Natasha's hand.

"I don't know, it's a package someone sent to me" said Natasha.

"Who sent it to you mommy?" asked Joy.

"Not someone important" said Natasha.

"Open it mommy" said Joy.

"You think that I should open it baby?" asked Natasha as Joy nodded.

"That is the only way you will know what is in there" said Joy as Natasha nodded, her baby was right.

"You are right baby" said Natasha as she opened the package.

"What is it mommy?" asked Joy.

"It's a smartwatch" said Natasha as she looked at the red smartwatch in the box, and there was a little note that Natasha picked up and it read.

"The Association wants to go digital devochka (girl) so here is your own agent smartwatch, there are instructions on how to use it once you switch it on, enjoy" read the note.

"Hmm" said Natasha.

"What does the note say mommy?" asked Joy as Natasha looked at her.

"It's a gift from my uncle my darling" said Natasha as she smiled.

"Wow mommy, the watch looks very pretty" said Joy.

"I know it does" said Natasha as she laughed and she put the watch back in the box, she would switch it on later.

"Now my darling, time for lunch, or are you full from cookies?" asked Natasha as she smiled.

"I want to eat lunch" said Joy as she giggled and Natasha laughed as well.

"Sir, Miss Thomas is here" came the secretary's voice from the landline.

"Let her in" said Dom.

"Okay sir" said the secretary as a few moments later there was a knock on Dom's door.

"Come in" said Dom.

"Hey Dom" came Lia's happy voice as she walked into Dom's office and she walked to his desk and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"Hey Lia, how are you?" asked Dom as he smiled and Lia sat down across him.

"Good, good, and how are you? How is everything, this place looks great, and I love your new office, it suits you" said Lia as Dom laughed.

"I am well, and everything is good, I do agree that this place looks great" said Dom as he laughed.

"I saw Nine on my way here, he seemed busy" said Lia.

"Yes, he is helping out around here since Michael and Charlie are away" said Dom as he smiled.

"Oh I see, so why did you call me here?" asked Lia.

"Not like I mind, you know that you can call me anytime any day and I will be here" said Lia as she laughed and Dom laughed.

"Well I called you here for business Lia" said Dom as he smiled.

"Alright business, what can I do for you?" asked Lia as she smiled.

"I need some security cameras installed in various areas of the building, you know for security reasons" said Dom as Lia nodded.

"And I know no one better than you, so I want you to take a look around and give me an estimate of how much a security camera installation would cost" said Dom.

"Ahh I see, firstly, I need a plan of the entire building, and direct number of how many camera's on each floor, and where you want them, as well as the current electrical plan of the building, because you know my cameras are the very good kind" said Lia.

"I know Lia, and that's why I need your expertise" said Dom as he laughed and Lia laughed.

"Good that you know, anyway, that's about it, and then you can give me an estimate of your budget, and I will give you what you need" said Lia.

"Consider it done, I will send everything to your email" said Dom as he smiled and Lia smiled.

"I want you to hire people to install the cameras though, I don't want you climbing on high places" said Dom as he laughed.

"Oh you worry too much Dom, I'm not afraid of heights, but no worry, I have some of my employees to help me install them, but you know I love a clean job, and I prefer installing my cameras on my own, to make sure that everything is in order" said Lia.

"I know Lia, thank you" said Dom as he smiled and Lia smiled at him.

"So do you have any plans? I was thinking that we can go to dinner, you, Nine and I?" asked Lia with a smile.

"I can't Lia, sorry, Nine's going to be busy, and I also have a lot of work here" said Dom as he smiled.

"Aww no worry, maybe next time" said Lia as she smiled.

"Anyway, I have to go, I have a client to meet not too far from here" said Lia as Dom smiled.

"See you later Dom" said Lia as she smiled.

"See you" said Dom as he smiled and Lia waved at him as she walked out of his office.

"Mommy, mommy, look!" said Joy as she rushed into the living room as she tripped over the carpet and she took a tumble.

"Oh my baby, you fell" said Natasha as she walked to Joy as Joy was crying her knee hurt.

"I fell mommy" said Joy as she cried and Natasha carried her and wiped away her tears.

"My darling, I tell you not to run in the house so you don't fall like this, where hurts?" asked Natasha.

"Everywhere" said Joy as she sniffed.

"Well then a kiss will make you feel better" said Natasha as she gave Joy many kisses and Joy giggled as she stopped crying.

"You feel better now my darling?" asked Natasha as she smiled and Joy nodded as Natasha gave more kisses.

"Mommy, don't kiss me too much" said Joy as she giggled.

"Why not princess?" asked Natasha as she smiled and she gave her a kiss.

"You should save your kisses for…" said Joy as her voice trailed off.

"Daddy!!" said Joy as Dom walked into the living room as Natasha turned to look at Dom and she put Joy down as she ran to Dom and he carried her.

"Hello princess" said Dom as he gave her a kiss on the cheek and she smiled.

"What's wrong princess, you were crying" said Dom.

"I fell daddy, but mommy kisses it to make it all better" said Joy as Dom smiled at her.

"I see princess" said Dom as he smiled.

Joy looked at Natasha and then at Dom, and just like she thought, they didn't even greet each other, or talk to each other, she wondered how she could get them to kiss.

"Daddy, won't you say hello to mommy?" asked Joy as she looked at Dom and both he and Natasha looked at her.

"Hi Natasha" said Dom.

"Mhmm hi" said Natasha as she replied.

"Darling, it's time for dinner, go wash your hands" said Natasha.

"Okay" said Joy as Dom put her down and she walked out of the room, leaving Dom and Natasha alone.

"You know, we should at least not try to look like enemies and greet each other" said Dom.

"Joy is more observant now" said Dom very seriously.

"I will do what I can do, and you do the same, that simple" said Natasha as she walked out of the room and Dom sighed as he shook his head, things were getting worse instead of better.
