1980 Memories VI

The night was cold and dark, the moon was shining brightly in the sky as a few stars followed after it, the night was quiet as the wind blew slowly as a red haired woman was standing, she seemed to be waiting for someone in the big clear parking lot.

"What are you doing here?" came the voice of a man as he walked over to where the woman was standing as she turned to look at him.

"I am waiting for you" said Ivanka as she smiled and she looked at the man, just like she did, he had a deep Russian accent, and a deep voice.

"And what if I did not come by?" asked the man.

"I knew you would, and you didn't" said Ivanka as she smiled and the man looked at her, he had a very serious look on his face as he stood in the darkness as where Ivanka was standing was well lit.

"Hmm" replied the man.

"How is your mission?" asked the man as he lazily put his hand into his pockets.

"It is going good…" said Ivanka sadly.

"You do not seem too happy about that" said the man.

"That is because I am not…" said Ivanka as she sighed and she looked down, she knew that if there was someone she could talk to about how she felt… it would be him.

"And why is that?" asked the man as he had a surprised look in his eye, he knew more than anyone else that Ivanka loved to complete her missions, so why was she not unhappy about her doing a good Job.

"Brother I… I… I don't want to frame the man" said Ivanka as she hesitated but she said what was on her mind in the end, and she looked up at the man as he looked at her with an indescribable expression, she knew that he would react like this.

"Zachem? (Why?)" asked the man as he only said one word.

"On nevinoven (he is innocent)" replied Ivanka as the man began to laugh.

"Ne govori mne glupostey, Ivanka (Don't talk nonsense to me Ivanka)" replied the man as he stopped laughing and he looked serious once again and Ivanka looked away.

"Tell me the truth Ivanka" said the man seriously.

"Brother I…" said Ivanka as she hesitated, she knew that she was about to say something that would anger him.

"I like him…" said Ivanka as she spit it out already, she was not one to fear, but when it came to Larry she did.

"Brother??" asked Ivanka as she looked up at him as he was quiet.

"Did he trick you?" asked the man as the cold look in his eyes was not unmistakable.

"No" replied Natasha.

"Did he threaten you?" asked the man.

"No" said Ivanka as she shook his head.

"Then why?" asked the man.

"He is different brother… he is nice to me and well he is sweet" said Ivanka as she smiled.

"So you want to give up your entire life for a man because he is sweet?" asked the man as he scoffed and Ivanka looked at him, she had not even said it yet, but he already knew where she was going with this.

"No, not only because of that brother… he makes me feel different" said Ivanka as she smiled.

"He is an American" said the man.

"He is the enemy" said the man.

"But we are not fighting him" said Ivanka as she replied.

"Ivanka, can you hear yourself right now?" asked the man as he scoffed.

"Brother I…" said Ivanka as she was cut off.

"But nothing Ivanka" said the man as he sounded very angry.

"You are our best agent, and yet you want to sacrifice your entire laugh for a man… he is the enemy, he is an American, whose to say that he won't betray you" said the man.

"Larry would not do that" said Ivanka as she spoke up.

"Hmm Larry, the way you say his name with so much faith and confidence" said the man as he scoffed and Ivanka looked away.

"You have not told him the truth have you?" asked the man.

"Net (No)" replied Ivanka as she looked at him in his eyes.

"*Sigh*, Who is to say that he will not just reject you and turn you in once you tell him the truth?" asked the man as he sighed, his voice no longer sounded angry, but it was now laced with worry and concern as his tone went soft.

"He won't do that… I know him" said Ivanka as the man sighed, she was as stubborn as a mule, which came in handy in this type of Job, but in other things it was hard to change her mind.

"Are you ready to betray your people and your Country just because of what you feel for this man?" asked the man.

"Da (Yes)" replied Ivanka.

"*Sigh*, you are young devochka (girl), what you feel for the man can wither away" said the man as he sighed.

"I won't, believe me… I have tried… and I know that if I go… I won't find anyone like him again" said Ivanka sincerely.

"You can and you will… once you move on you will see the world and many other men" said the man.

"They will not be able to give me what he gives me" said Ivanka as she replied sharply.

"I see that you have made up your mind" said the man as he knew that all his convincing was in vain.

"Yes I have brother… and I hope that you will support me, and I know that I cannot ask much of you" said Ivanka as she smiled.

"Ivanka… you know what I can and cannot do" said the man.

"Yes I do brother… thank you" said Ivanka as she smiled.

"You know what I always say" said the man.

"Do not be their enemy" said Ivanka as she smiled.

"I rest my case" said the man.

"You do realize that what you are about to do will cost you your life" said the man as he warned her once more.

"Brother… I will not blame you" said Ivanka as she smiled.

"Keep that in mind devochka (girl), keep that in mind" said the man as he walked away and Ivanka smiled, he gave her the strength she needed to do what she was about to do.

The next day.

It was about time to close from the office and Larry was nervous… he had never been on a date before, and he had never asked a woman out on a date before, he kept on glancing at Ivanka that was sitting across his desk and she caught him as she smiled at him.

"Shall we go now?" asked Ivanka as she smiled and she looked at Larry he was so cute.

"Sure" said Larry as Ivanka stood up and he stood up as he opened the door for her, he felt to nervous around her, and he did not know why.

"Thank you" said Ivanka as she smiled and she walked out the door as Larry closed the door behind him.

"So where are we going?" asked Ivanka as she turned to look at Larry as they walked out of the office building, she had never been to dinner with a man before… alright she had, but those other times she was on a mission, this time it was different, she was going to dinner with him out of her own freewill.

"Somewhere not too far from here, it is actually a very good restaurant" said Larry.

"Oooh, I never thought you ate in restaurants" said Ivanka as she laughed.

"I don't… but I heard some of the others talking about the place" replied Larry as they walked together side by side.

"Ahhh I see… it makes more sense now" said Ivanka as she laughed.

"Are you disappointed that I did not look for the place specifically?" asked Larry as they kept walking forward.

"Ahh… No…I know how you are… but I appreciate the gesture" said Ivanka as she smiled and Larry smiled as Ivanka was busy in her own thoughts, she did not even notice that they had arrived at the restaurant.

"A table for two please" said Larry to the butler at the front desk.

"Yes Sir" said the butler as he smiled and he led Ivanka and Larry to their seats and the butler pulled out Ivanka's seat for her as she smiled at him and she looked at Larry as the butler left.

"This place is nice" said Ivanka as she smiled and she looked at the menu.

"Yes it is" said Larry as he smiled… this was his first time here.

"Shall we order?" asked Larry.

"Yes" said Ivanka as she smiled.

"That was delicious" said Ivanka as she smiled and as they finished eating.

"Thank you for brining me here Larry" said Ivanka as she smiled, she never did have a taste for American food, but well here she was, and she enjoyed every second of it.

"You are welcome Ivanka" said Larry as he smiled… he had also enjoyed himself.

"Larry… I need to tell you something" said Ivanka as she looked very hesitant.

"Alright, what is it?" asked Larry as he could sense that she was worried.

"The thing is… I cannot tell you here" said Ivanka as she sighed.

"How about we go to my place?" asked Ivanka as she looked at Larry.

"Alright??" said Larry as he agreed, he had never seen Ivanka behave like this before… she looked scared.
