A few moments later, I was all set.

I got to the living room and saw no one, not even Olivia. She had probably gone grocery shopping. I glanced over at Richard's door before sighing.

I wonder if he was in.

A thought about Richard seeing Derrick and me together again dropped in my mind and I shook the possibilities off.

Forty minutes later, I met Derrick at the pizza store we'd first met which had already become our usual spot to meet.

"Hey, gorgeous," he said with a smile as he saw me despite his broken face.

"Hey, Derrick," I replied with a smile as well.

"Are you sure you're okay now?" I asked with concern laced in my tone.

"Of course," he replied, flexing his muscles.

"I'm not talking about your arms. I'm talking about your face. So, you can stop the show-off," I teased and he laughed.

"But I must commend your husband. He's a pretty good wrestler," he teased but my face got serious.
