She walked out of her chamber and into the hallway where Prince, their dog had run to her. She ruffled his head and he turned his back to the footing, causing her to rub his belly and he whined.

Prince reminds her of his brother and how much he cared for Prince. She had been left with the duty of taking care of him and including everyone at the manor.

She walked to the library which holds stalls of various books.

She finds delight in reading books on French as she loves to be a linguist.

She sat to read a book about a civil lady whose imagination was running wide as she sat on her flowered chintz sofa in a stuffy corner of a huge townhouse in London and who would have preferred to travel to a brutal world in India than attend balls and play games of whist. 

She is afraid of traveling due to her trauma and is also afraid of hearing that others travelled while she could not but reading through this book shipped in some delights about traveling.
