Pain

Isac's mind was completely filled with questions. - what happened? why was she bruised? what was she doing in the valley near the office? why did she not go home? why was she half naked? where was the person who did this? did he run away? how come no one saw what was happening? - All these questions kept cycling his head.

Calista fainted when he was about to make her sit at the back seat of his car. He was flustered. He didn't know what to do. He immediately thought of taking her to the hospital but didn't because he remembered how badly she didn't want to go.

But he just couldn't leave her like that can he? How was he supposed to leave a person as such? atleast not when they were unconscious. So he made up his mind. He was not going to go to the hospital. Instead he'll call in one of the nurses who used to attend his grandmother. He thought atleast a little first aid will help her recover faster.

The car ride was dead silent. Calista at the back passed out, Isac in the front driving , deep in his thoughts.

They reached his place in a jiffy. He managed to carry Calista without hurting her much. Her upper body was mostly covered with blood. He was extremely worried. He gently laid her down on his bed. He didn't care about his beadspreads or whatever. All he cared about was her now.

He had already informed the nurse about the situation and asked her to keep this private during the car ride. She was almost there and the door bell rang. He got the door and confirmed with the nurse to maintain confidentiality.

The nurse herself did not expect such a scene. She was informed that the person was injured but not this way. Calista's front upper body was severly bruised. There was a shoe mark and bloodclots near her torso. Her body was patchy with deep blue color. All those parts were bloodclots. Her skin was peeling especially near her breasts. She was dragged against the concrete which was not very smooth. It also had rocks and sand as nobody usually goes there.

It was a painful sight. She was bleeding from all the sides. Her face was swollen on one side. With a closer look one can see the hand print on her face.

Isac stood there as he watched the nurse dress Calista's wounds. He knew it was not appropriate for a man to watch a woman who was half naked but he had to know how badly she was injured. He stood there out of concern. Although he stood there he couldn't bear the sight. It looked very painful. His heart ached even more when he realised that she was not reacting to her wounds being attended. She was just laying still on the bad not even moving a single finger.

The nurse finished attending to her wounds. She said she will give Calista an IV. He nodded in response and the nurse did as she said she would. She asked Isac to change the IV bag once the first one was done.

"Thank you for stopping by under a short notice and I hope you'll keep this private" Isac spoke.

" You need not worry about it, I will not speak about this to anyone. I shall leave now" The nurse nodded and and left the place.

Isac saw her off and closed the door. He heaved a long sigh as he sat on the couch.

What on earth just happened? He called his assistant Michael. "I want you to check the cameras that are placed outside the office especially near the valley. Let me know when you find today's footage. Hopefully it shouldn't take too long. You can do this tomorrow the first thing you come to the office. Also cancel all of my meetings for tomorrow and email me all the files that needs to be reviewed, I won't be coming to the office. I'll let you know when I'll be back"

He couldn't leave Calista like that. Although she was just a coworker he couldn't bear to leave someone who was not doing fine alone. Alleast not now as he was taking the responsibility of taking care of her now for the time being. He checked up on her once more. She laid still.

He got his emergency pillow and mattress out and made his way to his couch.
