Ivanna, Run!

Lyn admires the way Ivy looks into the mirror. Ivy checks over her entire body with a proud smile as if she is the most beautiful person in the world. She can't take her eyes off of herself. Lyn wishes she could be like that, like Ivy. Ivy has riches no one could dream of and a face no one can match. Lyn wishes she could be her, as does everyone.

Ivy tilts her head, pushes her hair behind her ears, and smiles into the mirror. Her blond hair had the perfect amount of waviness and fullness to it. The hair length is down to the end of her ribs and always looks like it was done by a professional. Her nails are pink and have no missing chunks or scratches. Her body is fit and lean. Ivy smiles to the mirror as if she is taking a photoshoot.

Lyn has wanted to be Ivy's friend ever since the sixth grade when Ivy could do anything she wanted and was friends with everyone. As the years went by, Ivy started to become the most popular person in school, but she could never keep a friend for more than six months. Ivy would treat her friends with anything they wanted, but so much as smile to a person Ivy doesn't like then they are out.

Lyn has finally got the chance to prove that she would make the best friend. Lyn has always looked up to Ivy, but not in the way Ivy treats people. She takes her lifestyle for granted and says what ever she thinks.

"This party is going to be so fun!" Lyn squeals.

"Why? Because this is the first party you've been to?"

"No," Lyn feels hurt, "I just like parties"

"Do we even have to go?" Ivy sighs.

"But it's your party..."

"Fine. We will go for the first twenty then ditch"

A couple minutes later, Lyn goes into the bathroom which leaves Ivy by herself for finishing up her face. Ivy hears her mom call something. Ivy doesn't know what she says so she walks out her room and to the stairs to hear her better.

"Ivanna, Run!" Her mom warns.

"What? Why?"

"I love you, Ivy, but you need to run! Don't worry about me or your father! Just get to safety!"

"I love you too"

Ivy doesn't question her mom and runs down the stairs. She sees a glimpse of a window and a huge shadow covers the city of Los Angeles. She slowly walks up to the window and puts her hand on the glass. She does that just in time to see a blinding, white light cover her whole vision. Her eyes burn, and she falls to the ground. This knocks her out of her trance, and she runs to a bookcase. Ivy skims the bottom of the bookcase to find a latch. She lifts up the rod in the latch and then pushes the bookcase in. Ivy runs into a secret, cramped room and sits into a chair in the corner of the room.

On the side of the room is a small vault where the Taylor family keeps a gun and some money stored just in case of an emergency. Ivy hears a small crack in the wall of the room she was previously in. The crack gets louder and louder as it gets larger and larger until slowly the room she is in starts sinking.

A huge boom sounds all over the country. In seconds, millions of people are wiped off of the country. The sound is petrifying to people from all over the continent maybe even the world.

Ivy's ears are filled with a ringing sound. After the large sound was made, Ivy couldn't hear a single thing besides a static in her head. She couldn't even hear herself cry.
