Chapter 133 Velocity
The environment was discouraging for many people, including those with abilities. However, Stephen was contemplating which ability he should use.
Should he jump over?
The distance should be achievable regardless of superpowers or the Speed Force, but it seems a bit too low.
How about flying over?
Although Firestorm and Weather Wizard's abilities could do it, it doesn't seem cool enough, does it?
"Let's try Killer Frost's ability," Stephen thought of a move, a slight smile forming on the corner of his mouth, emanating an icy aura.
Suddenly, he leaped off the cliff.
Stephen plummeted through the air. His palms faced downward as his ability swiftly activated. The surrounding air gradually froze, and the air beneath his feet instantly solidified into ice, stabilizing his body. Simultaneously, his hands moved along with him, creating a long ice path out of thin air, carrying him through the air and sliding him to the opposite side of the cliff's hole.
At the entrance of the cave, Stephen touched the ground with his foot.
The ice road instantly collapsed into the cliff.
"Not bad for a cool entrance," Stephen chuckled as he walked in.
The dim tunnel remained eerily silent. After approximately five or six minutes of walking through the tunnel, Stephen arrived at what appeared to be a resting area. Several large pieces of discarded equipment were scattered in the middle, while a spacious open space lay beyond. On the edge of the clearing, there was a cage-like fence, inside of which a girl was held captive, her hand restrained by a long chain.
Her eyes were teary, evoking a sense of pity.
Scared teenager had a terrified and despairing expression on their face.
Jesse Chamberson Wells.
In the future, she would become a member of the The Flash family, as a Jessie Quick!
Stephen approached slowly, causing Jesse to tremble in fear at first. Then she seemed to realize that he wasn't Zoom but a stranger, which made her slightly less apprehensive. She shouted excitedly, "Help me! Please, save me! I've been captured by Zoom. You have to save me..."
"Shhh, calm down!" Stephen was getting dizzy witnessing Jesse's excitement.
Jessie was about the same age as Thea, although her legs seemed not long. However, she surpassed Thea in size.
"Uh..." Not sure if it was due to Stephen's composed demeanor or a slip of the tongue, but Jesse fell silent for a while.
"Where if this guy, Zoom?" Stephen approached her and asked about the whereabouts of the speedster.
"I don't know," Jesse shook her head eagerly. "Please, help me. Save me first. If he comes back, we'll be in trouble."
Stephen surveyed the area and inquired about how long age she had running with Zoom and what she had been doing recently. Jesse was desperate to escape, but she had to answer his questions. The urgency to break free mingled with the fear of being caught again, causing her to sob in a hurry.
People in desperate situations fear hope the most, as the period before hope arrives is the most challenging.
Fortunately, Stephen didn't intentionally torment her. With a hint of disappointment, he opened the cell and broke the chain that held her captive.
"Thank you, thank you..."
Overwhelmed with excitement, Jesse embraced Stephen's neck momentarily before quickly letting go. "Let's get out of here as soon as possible!"
Stephen shrugged noncommittally and extended his arms to hug Jesse. In a swift motion, a streak of yellow lightning darted out of the hole and leaped into the air. The incredible speed propelled him high above the ground, defying gravity as he landed swiftly and continued running without pause.
Huh!
S.T.A.R. Labs, Harrison Wells' office.
Stephen suddenly appeared, holding Jesse.
Harrison Wells, who had just finished the nano-shrinking technology equation, looked up and observed Stephen setting Jesse down. Harrison Wells jumped up like a hungry tiger and rushed toward Jesse.
"Jesse!"
"Dad!" Father and daughter embraced each other in excitement.
Stephen pursed his lips and walked over to the computer to examine it.
It appears to be complete. However, Stephen couldn't guarantee the equation's accuracy. If he understood it, there would be no need to seek out Harrison Wells! Fortunately, Harrison Wells had already prepared the storage device, and Stephen conveniently placed the equation into the storage device slot.
"I brought the person back to you and took the things away."
"If you dare to deceive me, you'll learn that Zoom is nothing in front of me!" Harrison Wells nodded silently.
"Dad, who are they?" Jesse managed to ask Stephen about his identity and the identity of the Black Siren, who didn't seem like a good person.
Harrison Wells kindly replied, "That's not important. What matters is that you're back safely. I've made arrangements. We'll leave Central City immediately and go to Atlantis."
In Earth Two, Atlantis never sank beneath the sea.
"A wise choice!" Stephen smiled faintly.
"Why? My family and friends are here. Do we really have to leave?" Jesse expressed her disappointment.
Upon hearing Jesse's question, the Black Siren couldn't help but curl her lips.
Oh, innocent girl, won't you leave? Are you waiting to be captured by Zoom again?
"We have to go!" Harrison Wells's determination was unwavering.
Suddenly, Stephen thought of something and said to Harrison Wells, "By the way, do you have the serum formula for Velocity? Give it to me!"
"Why do you want that? The formula is highly dangerous and gradually causes the death of cells. Even if you possess extraordinary powers, using it will only temporarily increase your speed. But if you rely on it too much, you'll lose your speed completely!" Harrison Wells said gravely.
"Just give it to me!" Stephen was well aware of the harm caused by the formula. He has seen Zoom's eagerness for more speed that it drove him to desire velocity. After all, Zoom inherently possessed extraordinary powers. However, if an ordinary person, such as a female scientist with schizophrenia at the Mercury Laboratory, were injected with this serum, they would gain speed faster than The Flash, resulting in extreme happiness and sorrow.
The lightning transformed from yellow to blue due to the tremendous speed, But it also disintegrated the person into ashes.
Stephen wanted it because he wanted to experiment with enhancing it to eliminate the side effects. He aimed to use his exceptional powers as a foundation for others to use. He truly disliked the yellow lightning!
Seeing Stephen's insistence, Harrison Wells didn't say much and handed over the Velocity serum formula to Stephen.
