CHAPTER 4: LECTURES

As the sun peeked through the windows of the houses, Isabella furrowed her brows t

at the light that aimed at face. Her eyes fluttered to adjust to the light and she turned away from the direction of the sun, there were papers around her from the sketchbook.

As she went back to sleep,the door to her room slowly opened and Carl walked in looking at the mess his sister's made of her room. His eyes moved towards the bed and be caught sight of the girl who slept among papers in her bed. Hopping on top of the bed he leaned in and blew air in to her ear. She moved for a while and then moved again when carl continued to blow air into her ear.

Isabella snapped her eyes opened and turned to look at her brother who smiled at her. She sighed 'what time is it?" she questioned while rubbing her eyes

"almost eight o'clock "

"you're joking" she sat up while staring at her brother but seeing car shook is head Isabella pulled her hair slightly before getting out of bed while taking note of the state of her room

"you overslept and made a mess of your room which you still need to clean,and you have classes today" he listed. Isabella turned to look at her brother who stared back at her "I know that you didn't need to point them out"

The boy shrugged and added "I'm just making sure you're aware,I already had breakfast, mother already went to work with the thought that you would take me to school not that I can't go by myself" he sighed"and now because of you I'll be late ,all those lectures and here I am'

Isabella could still remember scolding Carl fir missing school it seems her brother wants to use it against her .

"wait outside I'll get ready" she pushed him out of the room and took all the papers lying around the floor on her bed. Looking at the sketches,she praised herself but now wasn't the time to do that. She was going to be late for school and probably miss class.

After taking her bath and putting on her clothes,she took a look at her room where it wasn't properly arranged yet but with the papers placed aside ,it made a difference.

"carl let's go" she said and Carl who casually laid on the couch got up and headed outside with Isabella following behind,she locked the door and tbe duo left the area

After dropping carl off she headed for her school as she jogged towards the building. On entering the school's compound,she could tell the first period had already begun based on what the time says and with the silence that filled the school

"great"

Catching her breath she slowly walked into the the hallway where her class had already begun,she didn't want to go in and interrupt the class, mostly because she didn't know if she would be given any punishment. Her best choice right now was to stay in the library . Those who weren't doing the subject usually stay in the library or at the back of the school.

On her way she caught sight of one of the teachers and immediately hid from her sight. Once the teacher was gone, Isabella headed towards the library and went in. A few students were seated there ,she noticed someone waving their hand at her and she went there.

"why are you late?" Maya asked when Isabella took a seat in front of her. She had been expecting the latter before class had started and had a guess Isabella would be late.

She saw Isabella let out a yawn and she asked "didn't you get enough sleep?" . Isabella shook her head "nope".

"you are missing class "Maya stated while leaning forward and Isabella nodded"I know, I'll catch up" she smiled.

"what are you doing?" Isabella asked referring to the book and pen she was holding with the textbook that laid aside" studying,I'm having problems with this topic " Maya tapped the pen against the opened book.

"well right now I can't help,it's thirty minutes before the first period is over I'll use that time to close my eyes and rest wake me up once it's time" Isabella declared before resting her head against the table,she closed her eyes when she heard Maya speak "and what if I don't wake you up?' she raised one brow

" the school bell would do the trick" she whispered loud enough for Maya to here.

The girl wondered what Isabella had been doing the whole night as the girl had earlier mentioned she didn't have enough sleep. Curious she asked "what were you doing last night?"

"sketching" Isabella hummed "now let me sleep" she looked at Maya who nodded and smiled ,this conversation would have to wait

"now wake me up once the first period is almost over make three minutes before its over "

Maya was about to ask how Isabella would be able to get enough sleep with that amount of them but she decided against it as her friend already had her eyes closed. Isabella wasn't someone to fall asleep immediately but she didn't want to disturb her either .

While Isabella closed her eyes,a bunch of thoughts ran through her head as she thoughts of what happened yesterday appeared in her mind including how her bicycle got wrecked as that came to settle in her mind she lightly gritted her teeth before calming herself.

Later before ethe first period was over,Maya lightly tapped Isabella on her shoulder and the latter slowly opened her eyes "is it time already?" she groaned

"it isn't time for the next class but if you don't want to be late for this one get up and let's go"Maya responded while putting her textbooks in her bag.

Isabella got up and took her backpack and the duo stepped out of the library "was the rest sufficient"asked Maya as they walked down the school's hallway with a few students passing by

"not really, maybe I shouldn't have come to school today" Isabella groaned but the even if she hadn't come to school,she would be working at home

"well you did and now we are attending class " chimed Maya while she brought out some candy,she offered one to Isabella and the latter took it from her before saying thanks.

"so will you tell me what happened last night?" Maya raised one of her brows

"forget last night,I met a spoilt brat yesterday" Isabella rolled her eyes before pausing in her footsteps she turned to Maya and added "he ruined my bike" and as she said that the school bell rang and Maya "you'll tell me all about it later first let's go to class" she pulled Isabella's hands and they headed for their class.
