“Staying at your place when I start rattling around in my apartment.”
Bay finally paid attention to him, chuckling as he replied, “I think I’m the one who said he rattled around, but sure. Tonight?”
“Yeah, if it’s okay with you.”
“You bet. Give me a minute. Do we need to stop by your place so you can get clothes for tomorrow?”
“Since this is spur of the moment, yeah.”
They did. It took Dirk all of three minutes to toss something into the messenger bag he rarely used—butwas glad he had right now. Then they went on to Bay’s house.
“Make yourself at home,” Bay said. “You know where everything is. I was planning on calling out for pizza.”
