A night of fright is no delight! [completed] Chapter 3

Luke "Wow what a mess, you sure did a number on this place lucy haha!"

"Oh geese thanks a lot Luke!"

"Any time."

"Knock it off you two! We're here to find that clue not joke around or get caught, we have no idea if anyone is still in the building!"

Luke "Oh come on bisca who would be here at this time of night and with all the police tap

Lucy starts to shake how about him!"

As they walk in they hear this ghostly growel and turn to look at what made the noise.

Bisca and Luke "It's the headless horseman!"

Luke "let's get outta here!"

As they take off running bisca and Luke get separated from Lucy as the take separate hallway paths

Luke out of breath "Okay I think we're safe."

Bisca out of breath too "What to Lucy?'

"Idk at the fork in the hallway she took the opposite path."

"I hope nothing bad happened to her."

"Well if I know Lucy she's probably miles away from that horsemen by now."

Lucy talking to herself "Woah I made it, he's gone but I better be careful he could be anywhere and pop up at any time. Well while I'm here I can at least search this room for the clue." 

20 minutes later.  "Well that was a waste of time, I wonder where the others are, I hope they're okay."

Luke hollering "Lucy, Lucy can you hear me, where are you!"

"Dude stop that!"

"Why?"

"Well for one your gonna attract the headless horseman with all that yelling and second if she could hear you she'd answer!"

"You don't know what if she's been captured!"

"Well we hope not."

"Yeah your right."

"So since we can't find her we might as well look for the next clue."

"Good idea you search the rooms on the left side of the hallway and I'll search the right and remember if you find anything give a shout."

"Okay you do the same, if you find anything come get me."

"Okay I will, we'll meet at the end of the hall after we're done."

"Sounds good."

10 minutes later a loud scream! 

Bisca "Hey that sounded like levy!"

Luke "It cam from that way come on!"

They both take off running down the hallway

On the other side of the building 

Lucy "What was that was that levy or bisca I best go find out!"

Lucy takes off running down the hallway.

As both groups are running they have no idea the pain that's about to befall them.

Boom! All 3 collide in the hallway.

Luke "Hey we found lucy!"

Bisca in a sarcastic voice "Yeah who knew both hallways connected."

Lucy "Well i'm glad i found you guys now let's get lost!"

Luke "We can't we gotta find that note."

Lucy "Yeah but we can't find it if you don't have a place you haven't looked I vote for leaving."

Bisca "guys!"

"Not now guys!"

Lucy "what is it!"

"Shhhh look!"

The headless horseman searching for something in the room at the end of the hall

Luke "He hasn't spotted us yet, quick in here!"

They all rush into a closet and luke shuts the door and locks it.

Lucy "Now what we're…"

Luke "Shhh!"

He puts his hand over her mouth and continues to listen to the door and then lets down his hand.

Luke "Okay he's gone."

Lucy "Wait you mean he was walking by the door."

"Yeah."

Bisca "Wow good thing you thought of this place."

Lucy "Yeah but we're sitting ducks here."

Bisca leans on a cabinet, "Just be glad we're not running."

As she leans on the cabinet a small box falls and hits her "Outch!"

Both luke and lucy "Are you alright?"

"Yeah i'm alright but what's in that box?"

Luke picks up the box and opens it "No way!"

Both girls "What!"

"It the next clue!"

Both girls "Quick what does it say?"

 "It says  your closer to finding your friends and solving the mystery than before. A broken key will unlock the next door."

Lucy "A broken key there is no locks  on the doors except the front door and the keys aren't here."

Luke "You're right."

Bisca "But what if their not talking about an actual key what if it's a different type of key like the one you play a piano with."

Luke "Your right the piano in the old dance room is broken hence broken key the middle key never worked when I was a kid I bet money on it they didn't fix it."

Lucy "Alright let's get going!"

Bisca "But what about that horseman could be anywhere."

Luke "Your right so we best go through the rafters we can get into other rooms through there without being seen?"

Lucy "But aren't the rafters dirty?"

Luke "Nope there may be a cobweb here and there but i'll be going first so i'll take them out as I go."

Both girls "Okay." 

Bisca "Now that's settled let's get going."

Luke "Right just climb the bookcase one at a time and follow me."

Both girls nod in agreement.

As they climb through the rafters luke points to a tile up ahead 3 body lengths away and as he gets to it opens it and checks around the room for a sign that someone is there.

"Okay coast is clear."

"Then jumps down and helps both girls as they get down."

Bisca "There it is, the piano!"

As they walk to the piano Luke okay be careful not to make any noise we don't want to attract the headless horseman.

Both girls nod in agreement 

As they all walk over to the piano bisca look there it is, the broken key

Lucy "Okay so now what?"

Luke "Well we can try hitting the key and seeing what it does."

Luck "Psh… what can a broken key do?"

As luke hits the key a bookcase to the left of the piano slides to the right to reveal a path, Lucy's jaw drops and bisca laughs to herself.

Luke "Come on guys stop fooling around we gotta kind that clue."

Lucy "You're right."

Bisca "Come one guys let's see where this path leads."

Luke "Okay follow me and be careful."

Both girls follow behind and as they all get inside a ghostly hand reaches out and hits the broken key and the bookcase shuts locking them in.

Lucy "Oh no the door!"

Bisca "We're locked in!"

Luke "Don't panic this passage has to lead somewhere. Let's find the next clue and then we can worry about how to get out."

Lucy "Okay."

Bisca "Alright let's spread out and look for the next clue."

Both Lucy and Luke nod

As they look around through all the old junk in the passage way bisca notices something shining from the corner of the bookcase that had open to let them in 

Bisca "Hey guys I think I found something." As both Lucy and luke rush over.

Luke "What did you find."

Bisca "I don't know  but if you give me a boost and I'll grab it

okay?"

Luke "Okay."

As luke picks up bisca he puts her on his shoulders and she reaches for the shining object. 

Lucy "Be careful Bisca!"

"I will."

Luke "Hey you got it yet?"

"Yes." 

He puts her back down on the ground and it's the next clue."

Lucy "Alright read it!"

Lucy tries to read it. "It's too dark we'll have to get out to be able to read it."

Luke "Alright let's get to work on finding a way out."

Lucy "But how the key was the only way to move the bookcase and it's on the other side."

Luke "Well we'll just have to walk down this passage way till we find a way out."

Bisca "Come on the sooner we get going the sooner we get out."

Luke and Lucy nod in agreement . As they walk down the passage way they come to a fork.

Bisca "Which way do we go."

Luke "Hmmm?"

Then in the dead silence a girl screams!

Luke "No need to scream girls."

Both girls "That wasn't us."

Then another scream!

Luke points to the left passageway. "It came from that way come on!"

As they run down to the left they reach a dead end.

Lucy "Now what do we do?" 

Bisca "Quick look for a door or secret passage way."

Lucy "How about a ladder?"

Bisca "That'll work."

Lucy points to the ladder. "Lets go."

Luke "I'll head up first because we don't know what could be up there."

Both girls nod and everyone starts climbing the ladder, as they get to the top luke lifts the lid an inch and peeks out. He sees a grandfather clock, a bookcase, and a desk with old pictures with dust on them.

"Coast is clear come on up girls."

As he helps both girls climb out.

 Lucy "Wow this room doesn't look like its been used since the music hall part was shut down and they started using the big ball room as a dancehall."

Luke "Your right after they stopped giving piano lessons this place was pretty much abandoned."

Lucy "Hey I found a light switch should I turn it on so we can read the clue."

Luke "No if we do that it'll make us a target."

Bisca "Your right let's try to find a match or small light source so we don't attract unwanted attention from the headless horseman or the police outside or anyone for that matter."

They all nod and start searching around the room, Lucy looks by the bookcase, Luke is looking by and old filing cabinet, and Bisca is searching through the desk drawers. After a few minutes of searching.

Bisca "I found a flashlight."

Luke "I found some batteries in the bottom drawer of the filing cabinet."

Lucy "Aright and i have the clue."

Luke takes the flashlight from bisca and puts the batteries in then takes the clue from Lucy. Then turns on the flashlight to read the clue.

Bisca "What's it say Luke?"

Luke "It says the sky is blue, the grass is green, may we have out Halloween! Look for a relative who is quite old, whose face can't look, and whose hands can't hold."

Lucy "Hmm this one's got me stumped. Anybody got any ideas?"

Luke shakes his head no

Bisca wait an old relative, whose face can't see and hands that can't hold anything, its gotta be talking about that old grandfather clock, it's an old relative with a face that can't see and hands that can't hold anything." 

Luke "Hey i'll bet your right!'

Bisca "I know I'm right because here's the next clue."

Lucy "Awesome! What's it say?"

"It says there's no pendulum in this old clock. So, what does it lack besides a tock?

Luke "Boy thats a tuff one."

Both girls "Sure is."

Bisca "But we have to find it in order to save Obi and Levy!"

Luke patts her on the back. "Don't worry we will find them."

Lucy "I've got it!"

Both Luke and Bisca "You find out what the clue means?"

"Uh huh, if this clock is missing its toc it's also lacking a tic, attic, the next clues in the attic."

Luke "Your right and there is an attic in the north side of the building."

Bisca "Let's get going there's no time to lose!"

As they get back into the rafters and start crawling in the ducts. Levy wakes up in a dark room. And thinks to herself in a state of panic.

"Where am I, what happened?" 

Then kicks Obi." what was that?" She thinks to herself as she jerked back waking Obi up it the proces.

Obi "Wow where am I, and who just kicked me?"

As they sit in the darkness

Obi "Someone there?"

Levy "Obi is that you?"

"Levy?"

"yes ."

"I can't believe they took you too, are you hurt?"

"No I'm okay, how about you?"

"Yeah I'm okay but where are we?"

"If I remember right after they grabbed me I was taken to a wall, it was dark and I could see well and the wall slid back and it revealed a secret room and they threw me in and you but I didn't know it at the time."

"Yeah I wonder if anyone is looking for us?"

"Oh I bet are friends wouldn't leave us hanging I bet their looking for us right now."

"You really think so?"

Uh huh I sure do, now while there trying to find us I think we should find a way out before the person who took us come back."

"Your right, thanks Obi." 

Obi smiles back and they start to try to get out of there ropes that bind them together, meanwhile on the north side of the building Luke, Lucy and Bisca have just gotten to the attic entrance.

Luke " we made it."

Lucy "We sure did now let's split up and search the room for any clues."

Everyone nods and starts to search and as there searching. 20 minutes later.

Luke "This is hopeless we haven't found anything yet."

Bisca "No we have to keep looking!"

Lucy  starts giggles "Look no further guys I found it!"

Luke "Awesome whats it say!?"

Lucy "Let's get out of this dark attic first and in some better light first." 

Bisca "Good idea."

As they walked down the stairs, they see a light outside.

Luke "Get down everybody!"

They peek out

Bisca "Oh no its the police what are they doing here?"

Lucy "I don't know but we gotta get out of here and fast!"

Luke "You're right everyone to the cellar behind the staircase they shouldn't look in there."

The girls nodded and they all run behind the staircase, Luke opens the hatch and they all jump in. He quickly shuts it and locks it.

Bisca "Now what were sitting ducks if they show up."

Then the police unlock and open the front door,

Police man "Anyone in here!"

Deputy "Sire there's no one here lets lock up and get going,"

"Good idea let's get going."

Creek, the door closes and locks.

Luke "Okay, I believe it's safe, Lucy can you read the clue and we'll get back to looking for the others."

"Yep, it says for the next clue, don't look any higher. Think what you are when you're not the buyer.

Bisca "When I'm not the buyer hmm?"

Lucy "You're the cellar!"

Bisca "That's gotta be it!"

Lucy "But is there even a cellar in this place?"

Luke "Uh huh, theres is, but it's been boarded up for years."

Bisca "Lets go look anyways."

Luke nods and they start walking down another flight of stairs to the door of the cellar, which was wide open.

Lucy "It doesn't look boarded up anymore."

Luke "Your right someones been here recently, look at that handprint in the dust."

Bisca "Your right let's tread carefully who knows what might be down here."

Luke "Alright let's get looking before we run into the ghost." 

Bisca "Yeah we sure don't want another run in with him."

Lucy nods, and they all start searching meanwhile behind the fireplace Levy and Obi are getting to know each other better, and start to enjoy each other's company, and growing closer together. Before she knows it Levy has fallen for Obi, the way he made her feel safe in such a scary situation meant something to her. She slowly but surely is letting her guard down to a boy something she's never done, but she's still scared the others won't find them.

Obi in a reassuring voice, as he hugs her tight "They will find us don't worry."

Levy smiles at him resting in his arms, thinking to herself "How did he know?" 

Back in the cellar.

Luke "Boy I'm striking out, how about you guys you find anything?"

"Nope!"

"Not yet!"

Luke "Well keep looking were bound to find something."

Both girls nod and keep looking.

Then Lucy finds a rope "Hey guys I think I found something!"

Luke "Okay we're coming!"

They run over  to Lucy 

Luke "what did you find?"

Lucy "A rope.'

Bisca "A rope?"

Lucy uh huh."

Luke "And that means?"

Lucy "It leads somewhere, look up its connected to that balcony that can't be accessed any other way other than that rope."

Bisca "So you think the clues up there 

Luke "Well it's worth a look."

Lucy "Shall we all go up and check it out?"

Luke "No i'll go up by myself just in case, holler if you see anything."

 Bisca "Will do."

As Luke starts to climb the rope Bisca grabs the end to steady it.

Thanks "Bisca!"

"No problem!" 

 As Luke get to the top "Wow."

Lucy "What do you see?" 

"Lots of old junk and a cabinet, but it looks like its been slid over to hide something I'll move it and see if something is there."

Lucy "Okay be careful."

Luke "I will."

10 minutes later boom!

Bisca and Lucy "What was that!"

"Sorry I knocked the bookcase over and it broke haha."

Bisca sign of relief "Oh good grief don't scare us like that!"

"Sorry."

Lucy "It's okay, did you find anything?"

He leans over the balcony and wavys a rolled up piece of paper "Sure did!"

The headless horseman laughs and swings from another rope "Haha not anymore, its mine!"

Takes the clue and lands in front of the girls.

Lucy scream!

Luke starts to slide down the rope. "GET AWAY FROM THEM!"

Bisca yells "You awful jerk!" then steps on his foot, takes the note grabs Lucy's hand and takes off running up the stairs and luke follows closely behind and so does the horseman. As they reach the top of the stairs Luke slides and blocks the door and traps the horseman.

Luke "There now let's get somewhere safe and read that not."

They all take off running and find an old room in a blocked off part of the dancehall.

Lucy "Wow we made it!'

Bisca "Did he follow us?"

Luke "I don't think so."

Bisca "Well that's good, let's read the final clue while we wait for things to die down."

Luke "Good idea Lucy what does it say?"

Lucy "It says No more riddles, here ends the chase. Your friends are in the fireplace."

Both Luke and Bisca "The fireplace!?"

Luke "There is no fire place here, or at least not in the old part of the building."

Lucy "No wait they added on to the south side."

Bisca "Your right that must be the one lets go!"

Luke "But what about the horseman?"

Lucy and Bisca smiled at each other  and laughed "It's rafter time!"

Then they all started laughing as they climbed into the rafters.

Luke "Lets go get our friends back!"

Bisca "Right on!"

Lucy "Yeah!"

As they get to the new add on the rafters stop so they jump down and continue walking. As they get to the add on they look through the glass window and see the horseman guarding the fireplace.

Luke "Crap!"

Bisca "one of us is gonna have to lure him away."

They both look at lucy

"No no not happening!" 

Luke "You wanna save Levy?"

"Yes."

"Then do it for her."

"Oh okay, but first let's set a tap."

Everyone nods and huddles up. Lucy then whispers the plan to them, and they all split up to get the trap set. Lucy runs to the room across the hall grabs a rope and makes a tripwire.

 Luke and Bisca get a bucket of water and mixed soap in and then pours it on the floors down to the end of the hallway to an open door, where a big bookcase sits to the left of the door. Luke then opens the door at the end of the hallway and grabs a bungee cord and runs back to where Bisca and Lucy are standing.

Lucy "Okay I'm read you guys go sit across the hall and wait to pull the rope on me signal

 Luke laughs so if we're right. " The horseman will trip land on the rug and me and Bisca will give him a good shove to get him going and he'll slide down on the floor that we put the soap and water mixture on and into the room. Then someone will slam the door then wrap the bungee cord around the door handle and then around the old door stopper and slides the bookcase over and he's trapped!"

Lucy "Okay so who's gonna be the bate?"

Bisca smiles at Luke then they both look at Lucy.

Whispers "Wait not me!"

Luke "But your the fastest."

Bisca "And you did come up with the plan."

"Oh okay, let's get this over with."

Luke "Okay let's get in position, everyone knows what their doing?"

They all nod and run to their positions, with Luke by the door holding one end of the rope and Bisca across the hall holding the other end of the rope, then standing in front of the door Lucy takes a deep breath then swings open the door with a loud bang!

 "Hey you!" The headless horseman turns to the door. "Yeah you, your so ugly that when you get up in the morning and look in the mirror you faint from your own ugliness." Then throws a glass vase at him and it shatters!

Luke "Oh boy."

Then the headless horseman yells and takes off running at her.

Lucy screams and takes off running down the hall avoiding the rope, then ping, the horsman trips and lands on the rug.

Bisca "Luke!'

"On it!"

Luke and Bisca give the horsman a shove and he starts sliding down the hall. Coboom! He slides into the room and hits the back wall. Lucy slams the door shut and wrapps the bungee cord. As Luke and Bisca slide down the hall they slide the bookcase trapping the headless horseman inside.

Lucy "We got em!"

They all high five each other and race back to the fireplace to find a way to let Obi and Levy out.

Luke "There must be a secret entrance like with the piano."

Bisca "But where?" 

Lucy "I don't know about you guys but I'm tired, Maybe it's time to call for help?"

As she sits on the desk and places her hand in the top left corner, creek! The edge of the desk sinks in.

Lucy "What the heck!" and falls of the desk and onto the floor.

Luke "She found it, the secret entrance!"

As the fireplace slides out of the revealing Obi and Levy tied up together.

Luke "Hey are you guys your all right?"

Obi "Yeah we're alright."

Levy "We gotta get outta here before he comes back!"

Luke "We took care of him he won't be bothering us."

As they all get untied and get out of the fire place the headless horseman stands in the doorway and laughs "Are you sure about that?" 

Bisca "It's him the headless horseman!"

Lucy "What do we do!?"

Luke "Run!"

They all take off running out a side door with the horseman following closely behind.

Levy "He's on our tail what do we do?"

Luke "Girls hang a right and go one lap around the bend, Obi you follow me I've got an idea."

They nod and the girls hang a right and Obi and Luke hide in a closet, where they find a net and rope sticking out the closet door 

Obi "Your plan is a net and a rope?"

"Yep sure is now come on you have to get up stairs before they round back!"

As the girls round the bend Lucy "What do you think Luke has in mind?"

Bisca "Don't know just keep running!"

As Obi get to the balcony he hollers down to Luke "So what's your plan?"

"Its for you to through the net over and i'll tie him up!"  

"Hmm that sounds pretty good."

"Uh oh here they come." 

Luke runs into the closet and shuts the door.

"Get ready to through the net."

Nods his head and leans over the edge.

As they round the corner. "Now Obi!"

Obi leans over to through the net and falls off the balcony "ahhh!" 

Smack! Lands on the headless horseman. 

Luke "Nice job now to unmask him!"

Luke ties him up and helps Obi up.

Then Levy jumps and hugs Obi "You idiot why did you jump off the balcony? That was too big of a risk!"

Obi "I'm alright the horseman broke my fall."

Still don't scare me like that again!"

"Don't worry I won't."

Lucy "Ooooh look whos hitting it off."

Bisca "Lucy!"

Both Obi and Levy "It's alright Bisca we don't mind."

Both Levy and Obi look at each other, Obi nods. Luke, Bisca, and Lucy looked at each other in confusion. 

Levy "In fact if it wasn't for Lucy pushing me to talk to him and us getting kidnapped together we wouldn't be a couple."

Luke  smacks Obi hard "You guys are a couple now, dude congratulations!' 

Obi blushes "Thanks."

Bang! Door opens "Police nobody move."

"Uh can somebody mind telling me what's going on and who's this on the ground?"

Luke "This is the end of the mystery."

"Mystery?" 

Levy "Yes sir, if you'll allow me I think I know who it is, sir."

Walks over "Who ever took me and Obi had to know Obi liked me and had to know that I was single, I usually don't tell many people if I'm dating someone and the only person who could have known I was dating someone this time around. Rips off the mask. Was my ex boyfriend Sky." 

Everyone gasps.

Sky "how'd you know it was me!"

"Because when I left you were angry and stocked me and my friends. So it would not have been hard for your to have overheard lucy telling me Obi like me at the princes judging."

Police officer "Okay i've seen enough let's go."

Another officer " you have the right to remain silent anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law."

The police escort him out and put him in the car window rolls down.

Sky "Levy will you wait for me, I still care about you."

"Not in your dreams."

She turns away and the car speeds off.

Luke, Bisca, and Lucy walk back to the car

Lucy "Levy, Obi are you coming

Obi "In a minute."

"Okay don't wait too long." 

 Lucy runs to catch up to the others. As the sun rises they turn to each other they take each others hand and started to walk back towards the car.

Obi "Here begins our story."

Levy nods and smiles "A new chapter of our lives starts now."

Luke "Come on you two love birds let's go!"

Obi rolls his eye's and they take off runing to the car together.
