[3rd POV : Marin]
"What is up with you today? You are never this scrutinizing before." A make up artist complained as she carefully applied make up on Marin's face.
Marin was being extra careful with how she looks. She wanted the makeup not be as thick as she used to wear while modelling and only wanted it to compliment her natural beauty
At the same time she wanted to look as good as she did with heavy makeup. Making it extra hard for the make up artist.
"Where are you going anyways? Are you doing a super important modeling or something? Have some big shots approached you?" The make up artist inquired curiously.
Marin turned to her after shaking her head, "No, it's something even more important." she said.
.
.
"I am going on a date." She said with the most serious look.
Yes it was a date. At least that was what she liked to think.
It kind of is a date right?
Regardless, she needed to look as good as she could since she was going to be with Yuito.
"Huh?! Only a date? I thought you were getting married or something." The make up artist commented.
The comment made Marin blush as she imagined herself marrying Yuito. Then she would be able to live with him and stay by his side as much as she wants.
She would be able to see him right after she woke up or right before she pass out to sleep. It would be so wonderful.
She would take care of him and in return he would take care of her. They would always eat dinner together and talk as much as they wanted.
And they could have kids!! Marin wanted at least seven of them and if it was possible, she wanted to have more.
They would be named in a way that each of their names have connection to each other!!
And she will be the busy mother while taking care of mini Yuitos and the big and real Yuito will support her. Kissing her- Gah!!!
Marin slapped her face to stop imagining her whole life together with him. It was the most pleasant thought and dream but she can't get ahead of herself.
She still needed to ensure the girlfriend title as of now.
And as much as Marin did not have trouble expressing her love with anything else, Yuito was different.
She was scared of confessing to him. And if she did, she wanted to make sure she had the highest possibility of success.
People might call Marin a coward because she was afraid of confessing to a boy. A simple thing almost everyone had done in their life.
Well, people did not understand.
If you confess to a boy, you could always try again with another. Things like that comes and goes.
But to her, she was confessing to Yuito. And there was only one of him so she only had one chance.
While normal people could always find another boy, she could not and would not find anyone else like Yuito.
So it was a one shot thing.
And if she confesses and he rejected her, he might distance himself away from her and their friendship might be ruined.
So Marin first wanted to make sure Yuito likes her very much before confessing.
And yes, that was basically her aim in life at this point. She did not even remember wanting anything else in life.
She just wanted his heart.
Or at least a big part of his heart.
.
.
"And there. Perfect." The make up artist said and Marin carefully observed herself in the mirror.
She squinted her eyes, trying to find even one speck of imperfection but she found none. She huffed and nodded.
This was good enough.
Then she wore her costume which Yuito had lovingly ordered for her. She knew it was his first gift to her and she thinks it was absolutely precious.
As she looked at herself in the mirror with her full cosplay and she nodded in satisfaction.
'Yup, I look good.' She thought to herself as she posed a bit in the mirror.
Marin was not a someone who would pose in the mirror like this but Yuito was slowly rubbing off his habit on her.
And she copied him. After all, people copy the habits of person they love and admired.
After everything was done and after she looked absolutely perfect, she left for their meeting place.
It was a restaurant called 'Den' which meant home in Japanese. It was infamous for being a lucky charm for new couples to have a great love life.
She had picked the restaurant as a meeting place especially for that reason even though it was a bit far away from the anime convention.
Another thing to note was that she was 2 hours early. It was only 8 am and the meeting time was 10 am.
Though there was a reason why she was so early, she was going to have her breakfast here. At least that was what she told herself as an excuse to come early.
After waiting 1 and half hours which felt more like a year and a half. Yutio finally reached the restaurant.
'Gah!! He came half an hour early for our date!! That's so cute~' She thought to herself as if she wasn't the one who came 2 hours earlier.
And seeing the stunned look on Yuito's face after he first saw her made all the effort she put on looking good, worth it.
They ate desserts together at the restaurant and it was during the conversation they had that Marin learned something that would etch a permanent smile on her face.
Yuito...was flirting with her.
Oh.My.God.
'He likes me!!'
And that became more and more evident when Yuito began using flirting lines you can find on the internet.
How did she know it was from the internet you ask?
She had looked up those too last night!! 'Flirting lines to make your crush fall for you.'
Marin was having a hard time not squealing in joy every time he would make a move on her. They were so corny and extremely weird sometimes but it was the intention that matters to her!!
Marin also found it extremely funny that he was basically trying to win her heart when it couldn't be more his already.
'Stop with the silly lines. I am already yours.' She wanted to say but she held herself back.
And in the end, Marin fell for him a second time. Like an idiot.
If that was even possible.
.
.
She also did her best to attract him too. Practicing the things she learned on how to get a boy to like her.
She was acting more clingy towards him. Smiling more than before- again, if that was even possible.
Become more agreeable towards his opinions. All that stuff.
But she thinks the best part of the day was when he would glare at every man coming a little too close to her. Such possessive action clearly indicate that he liked her too.
She felt happy and safe.
Overall it was a great time for her. It was her favorite day. The best day of her life.
Time passed and at noon, they decided to go to the same restaurant and that was when everything went downhill.
The best day of her life turned into a nightmare.
Everything was blurry when Marin tried to think back on what happened.
She met her old classmate and friend, Sakura. They talked together and Yuito went to a convenience store.
And then the screams happen.
Someone with a knife running towards her friend.
She tried to shield her friend from the criminal. To protect her.
She was foolish to think she could protect her when she couldn't even protect herslef.
She was so scared.
She remembered dying.
The knife stabbing her abdomen. Life leaving her.
Maybe it was just a hallucination.
The only thing she could think of at that moment was him. She didn't know why but she called out his name.
"Yuito."
And then blood.
It took her too long to realise that..
It was not her blood.
Yuito.
She cried at his arms.
If she was scared before, now she was terrified.
Because Yuito could die.
She was more afraid of his death than hers.
It took a long time for her to calm down but at one point he hugged her and told her that he was fine.
And he saved her.
.
.
.
The whole event was an eye opener for her.
The thought of him dying had made her realsied some things.
She didn't want to hesitate anymore.
She needed to tell him exactly how she feels. Or it could be too late.
"I love you Yuito."
.
.
.
.
.
.
Though she should probably say that to him when he was not sleeping on the hospital bed.
