BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. BEEP. ** THE ENDLESS BEEPING, DRIVING DAMIAN MAD, BUT IT WAS HIS ONLY way of knowing that his huntress was still alive. He grown to like that nickname instead of hunter for her. In fact, the last twelve hours were filled of him comparing her to an average she-wolf and so far, he was liking the odds. In fact, she was fitting more and more into the position of high alpha female than any others whom have tried to win his favor. The number of females that would throw themselves at him was sickening and with the arrival of his possible reluctant mate, those advances will stop. Just the thought of his huntress putting those hungry she-wolfs in their place makes hi heart swell with pride and his trousers stir. He growls to himself**
***Now is not the time, we have plenty of time for that later. ***
His wolf growls at him and shuts him out. He doesn't blame the beast within him, his behavior is to be expected when first finding your mate. Although, you still must control yourself.
More and more thoughts of his huntress consume that he doesn't even notice the light on top of the door goes out and a doctor emerges from the room. Damian looks up and locks eyes with the doctor.
"So?" Damian speaks.
The doctor sighs and says, " your majesty, it seems her body was rejecting the human blood we were trying to give her. If she was completely human, then her body wouldn't have a problem. My theory is that she is partial wolf, but why is a hunter we don't know."
Damian's eyes drain of life and he asks, " is there a way to save her?"
" Well if we perform a blood transfusion with werewolf blood, it may work, but the challenge is finding a willing wolf. Many don't want to even go near a hunter, let alone help them."
Damian strokes his small beard in thought.
***I'm willing to lay my life down for her Damian. ***
Damian looks up," my wolf and I agree to do the transfusion Dr. Marcel."
The doctor nods. " Follow me then, your majesty."
Damian follows him into the room where he sees three nurses preparing for the transfusion.
"Just sit on the stool beside the bed so we can begin."
The nurses prep Damian and insert the tube. He watches as his blood leaves his body and enters hers.
Two minutes have passed before there was any change. Her heartbeat began to speed up, making Damian breathe a sigh of relief and the doctor to smile.
" That should be enough damiana, thank you. Can you please step outside again?"
The nurses clean him up and shoo him to the hallway, where he takes his spot once more.
Thirty minutes' pass when the doctors and nurses begin wheeling her bed to a new room, Damian in tow. Once they reach the new room, the doctor speaks,
" Thanks to the blood transfusion, she began healing."
Damian breathe a sigh in relief.
" Thank the moon goddess."
Dr. Marcel chuckles, " I'd say she is the one that should be thankful to have a mate such as yourself, your majesty."
Damian smirks. " So how did you conclude that she was my mate."
The doctor's smile drops. " Because you killed any hunter that came close to any of us ever since your mo.-"
" Stop right there Marcel, don't overstep!" Damian shouts.
Marcel closes his mouth and bows, " I'm sorry your majesty."
Damian sighs, " no I'm sorry. I shouldn't have snapped at you. You're a good man Marcel."
He smiles, pats Damian's back and leaves the room, leaving Damian and his huntress alone. Damian looks down to her peaceful looking face and smiles. After so long, he finally has his queen.
