Chapter 6

* * *

A few days after her meeting with the Kazekage, at night time where Yua's mind will replay every idiotic or embarassing things she's done, she recalled what she had said and was disgusted at the way she had to pretend to treat the jinchuuriki like a test subject. It may be pretend, but it still bothered her like she had betrayed Gaara's trust/love.

"At least it wasn't another one of my old memories that I remember," she joked in an attempt to comfort her depressing self.

"Great job, Yua. Give yourself a fucking pat in the back," Yua muttered to herself, in english.

Her mind refused to sleep, keeping her wide awake and drowning Yua in more unwanted thoughts. So she decided to climb up her roof and enjoy gazing at the starless sky. She crouched down and hugged her knees as a tear escaped and slid down her cheek.

"I would've liked the view of the moon here, but remembering your true form, not really. You may be pretty, but you're pretty scary too. I wonder if I'll live long enough to meet Isshiki. . ." She whispered, her voice cracked and sounded muffled as she spoke in the comfort of her elbow.

The next day, Hina found her daughter sleeping on the roof (again). She shook her head helplessly and carried her back to her room. As she carried Yua, she noticed that there were dried tears on her cheeks and small droplets of tears on her eyelashes. Hina pondered over the reasons why Yua would cry over.

"Was it the studying?" she thought.

Sometimes, her daughter seemed so distant and she wasn't sure if it was because she often leave for work. It worried her as a mother and as a shinobi. If her daughter was mentally weak, she wasn't cut out for the shinobi work, but becuase Suna is in need of more manpower she would be forced into the life of a shinobi.

"Yua! Wake up! We have to go to Chiyo-sama now!"

A loud voice resonated in the house and Yua grumbled loudly in response.

"I hate mornings, I hate nights, I hate everything!" she cursed inaudibly as she got ready for the day and head out to study under Chiyo.

Walking through the sandy streets of Sunagakure, her mind began to recall the details of the future that she still remembered with her pea sized brain. It was then, she realised that she forgot to write the future she knows in case she forgot, but then again she doesn't want to remember remembering the future.

After alot of head scratching and thinking, she decided to write it down in english after the lesson, in case anyone tries to invade her privacy.

Safe to say Yua despised chakra practise. She wasn't very talented in chakra control, just slightly above average. It was easy for her to draw upon chakra as it was something different in her past life.

To make matters worse, Chiyo was a very strict teacher who showed zero positive emotions which caused some pressure of expectations placed onto her. It reminded Yua of her old life's school's principal and she shuddered at the thought of their similarities.

Time went by quickly as she settled into a repetitive cycle everyday. Yua still wondered why Rasa didn't try to assassinate Gaara but she was glad he didn't, it was just wrong.

"This world sure is as messed up as my old one." Yua thought, "At least I was able to help one of them in their childhood."

A small budsing sense of happiness grew inside her, slowly eradicating the regretful and negative side of her heart.

"Temari! Kankuro! Gaara! Let's play." The flaxen haired crossdresser joyfully shouted and waved at her friends. The three faced the running boy(girl) and waved back.

Yua and friends excitedly jump into the pit of sand as Gaara used his sand manipulation to add a magical touch to it.

On times like this, Yua really felt alive and all her worries were temporarily gone. She no longer thought about the people she left behind nor did she think of the calamity that would befall the world in the future.

For now, it was just Sabaku no Yua, a normal kid who lives in Sunagakure.
